Took my injection with your guidance today. I’ve been on Dupixent for the last 3 years for severe eczema, have had the syringe style until this year, this one is way more intimidating and hurts way worse! But this video helped me so much. Thank you!
I just gave myself my first injection and was so scared! Your video really helped me overcome that initial fear and gave some helpful tips on what I should do! Thank you!
Glad to hear it! It does get easier, I've been on it for a year now. I can't let myself get in my head, the entire process is about 1 minute for me now, I just hype myself up and don't think about it .... run into the bathroom, scrub alcohol, squeeze the fat and just say "1,2,3" and do it. Once every 3 or 4 times it really hurts for some reason, but most of the time it's not really bad at all anymore. Good luck to you!
Bro I REALLY wish I would've found your video sooner. I've been dealing with PTSD inducing pain with these. I just tried it the exact same way you did while watching and 0 pain! You sir just saved me here. Thank you!

Thanks Bryan. Used to have the syringes and injection day always scared the heck out of me. Used your tip of pinching the fat and what a difference that made!
Thank you so much! My doctor and pharmacist neglected to show me how even after asking, so your video helped me so much! Wish me luck on my first injection🤞
@Bryan Mack thank you so much for this vid. I HATE giving myself this shot because it burns like crazy every time. But THIS time I tried the pinch like you suggest and I didn’t feel a thing. Showing my son this video and demonstrating what we were going to do before we did it, I feel helped to ease any anxiety that he may have had about the injection.
By the way for people that are scared to do it in the belly, please don't - I've been doing Metothrexate and then Dupixent for years now and I found the belly injections to be surprisingly less painful than the thigh (especially in these cases where stars align and you hit a small nerve) - it's mostly a barrier in your mind! I also always preferred the normal syringes compared to these auto-injectors, I understand they're made in a way so you can't see the needle, but the suspense of needle slamming in me with loud click and delivering the drug was always worse than just "having control" with just a syringe for me ;)
My son who will be 30 next month has been dealing with eoe for many years now . He has had his esophagus stretched at least once a year for the last 6 years or so . Thank you for this video. I have been trying to do it in my stomach & it was so painful that i have been making my life partner do it for me. Now, i will try it this way. ❤
Belly is definitely less painful. I used to do thigh. But found out the belly is significantly less painful. Can press or pinch some fat 2” away from your belly button. Leave the shot out for a day on the counter, at minimum take it out in the morning and use before bed. It hurts severely when it’s cold. Use alcohol wipes in a circular motion starting in the middle and working your way out like a bullseye. This pushes bacteria and dirt away from the injection site. Don’t blow on it to dry, let air dry. Inject in the middle of the spot. Blot dry or put on a bandaid, dont wipe away any liquid or blood it will hurt. A few drops of blood is normal, probably just hit a capillary vein in the skin and will stop bleeding in a second. (It’s totally normal, happens even with my flu shots etc.)
1:23 yeah guys that sound is cause by lil air bubbles,TLDR do not shake your needle to warm up it,just rool it back and forth between your hands for 1 min and your good to go
I've been on it for a year. Since my last esophagus dialation (around new years when it turned to 2023) I have had 0 reactions or obstructions, which is unheard of. I had a biopsy 4 months after starting dupixent and my eosinophil count was down to nearly 0. That said, I'm STILL not confident that this is the answer to my EoE. I personally, as a non-doctor, just think my esophagus will shrink again over time. We'll see, can't complain about the last year, though!
I have been taking my shot since October 2022. I have no symptoms of Eosinophilic Esophagitis since I started the shot. My doctors said that there were no eosinophils in my esophagus There has been some times where I missed a week and I definitely notice some of my symptoms coming back.
Thank you for this helpful video. I was told to take it once every two weeks. But you said you take it once a week. Why is that? Does it depend on the condition? Thanks.
My son will start his first ever dupixent injection today, he has struggled with u controlled EoE for 5 years. Im hoping this will help and a fear is this new medicine scares the crap out of me. I always fear allergic reactions for anything.
I have the injection I can’t get my self to do I try and have to keep throwing them away bc I suck and can’t put the needle all the way in so I constantly just suffer from severe eczema
I had really bad eczema and it’s the only thing that worked for me! I just pinched my skin a little more like this guy did and tried the hydrocortisone and it helped a lot. Just do it for your body and you won’t suffer like I did for years with ugly legs! It works!
I suffer from EE or EOE. I eat baby food and blend foods I'm not allergic to into puree. I am always that 1 in a million that has life threatening reactions. So my doctor does not want me to try it till a greater time has passed and a very large population with EE has taken it. What are the worst sides effects you've had? Are you still having food hang up? When food hangs up on me, my esophagus does not release or open up and I need surgical intervention. What is the cost?
HELP......my doctor wants me to start this medication. Ive read about so many side effects which has me terrified. How has the medicine affect you? Thank you
Thank you! 1st injection following your video. Was going to just stab myself, but your advice was spot on. Helpful suggestion from elsewhere... let the syringe contents come up to room temperature! Makes a huge difference (my last injections were cold and given at the office... waaaaay worse!)
Ask your parents if they can request some numbing cream from the doctor, and put it on 1 hour prior to the shot. Then get an ice pack and put it on after the 1 hour of numbing cream then put alcohol swab on it pinch and inject. Just so you know it doesn’t help the burning. Hope this helps

This video is great! Short, concise and to the point with very clear instructions and good visual. Thank you.
Awesome, thanks for the training
I wish would have watched this first! Thank you!
Thank you Bryan this was helpful!
Thank you so much …. Off to try it
Thank you! This helped me soooooo much!
How long have you been taking it and has it worked.
@@BryanMackhello, does your eoe cause narrowing of the esophagus ?
Thanks for the education
I appreciate you
I’ve been doing this for 2 years and i absolutely hate it still
Thank you for this helpful video. I was told to take it once every two weeks. But you said you take it once a week. Why is that? Does it depend on the condition? Thanks.
Thank you so much! Dupixent isnt as painful to inject using this
about to inject for the first time, thx for your video
My son will start his first ever dupixent injection today, he has struggled with u controlled EoE for 5 years. Im hoping this will help and a fear is this new medicine scares the crap out of me. I always fear allergic reactions for anything.
Im trying to do it myself right now.
It works!
Please help me to get one 🙏 I cant buy it
Well that looks terrifying, looking forward to none of that, but will be doing it either way.
Thought I had the courage to do this myself, took me half an hour to even try. Boyfriend had to do it for me 😬
Are you still taking this for your eoe? Has it helped are you glad you started on it? I just got diagnosed with eoe…
Did it help you eoe? What percentage has it helped by?
Thanks
You're video should be on dupixent page since they don't have that syringe there.
Thank you!
Once per week injection?
Thank you
The belly don't hurt much at all
thanks Brother
Thanks again
Great video! Dupixent is kinda painful though.
"Thank you for your video. I have a question: When injecting into the abdomen, should one create folds or not?"
Yes. Same as the thigh. Hold it tight at first then let up. It feels the same in both the thigh and stomach. It's a personal preference.
@tifflovedakids thanks
Wasn’t bad at all thank u ! Feels better then gettin the shot in the stomach for sure
Is this Michael Keaton?
HELP......my doctor wants me to start this medication. Ive read about so many side effects which has me terrified. How has the medicine affect you? Thank you
i’m taking my first one at home today nerves bad
Has it made a difference with the EOE?
It has for me. Life changing.
Me too, I'm almost off of it
I start mine today and I am so so scared
godspeed.
Thank you! 1st injection following your video. Was going to just stab myself, but your advice was spot on. Helpful suggestion from elsewhere... let the syringe contents come up to room temperature! Makes a huge difference (my last injections were cold and given at the office... waaaaay worse!)
wonder if it loses potency in room temp for too long... instructions read to refidgerate on arrival
I have been doing dupixent for a couple months im only 12 and it hurts like a sun of a gun any tips to make it not hurt
