Love love LOVE this!! I'm so happy you promote eco-friendly dye options like this instead of using harmful chemicals and dyes that are both bad for us and our planet. This dress is beautiful on you!!
I have done this in the past and it was trial and error I never noted what I did with black tea. lol thanks so much for such a great video! I have some projects coming up! Thank you! I love your dress! You look amazing!
I love the background. Your video asthetic is goals. I look at your old videos and then to your current videos and your channel has matured so beautifully. I feel like when you were in your pink rocker phase, so was I, and now I'm an adult woman with a home and I feel just as connected to your life now as I did then. SO SAPPY ON SUCH A RANDOM VIDEO ABOUT DYING A DRESS WITH TEA BUT I JUST FEEL so attached to you being a fellow independent Ontario woman trying to live a fulfilling positive creative life and wanted to say how much I really enjoy the direction you've taken your brand. 😊
Yeah I did this processed 22 years ago. My grandmother suggested it when I could not find the right color tight for my daughter Easter dress. And it came out perfecto. I was thinking about doing it on some white tops that have gotten a bit dingy. And now seeing your email it confirms that is what I should do if I want to save them. Thanks for sharing.
This was really interesting, never occurred to me you could use tea for dyeing fabrics. It really came out beautiful, I wouldn’t have thought acrylic fabrics were able to be dyed. Might have to try this out myself!
Shirley Thank you I knew it was possible but wasn't sure, I was surprised that the herbal teas would give other colours interesting, going to have some fun now. Now we are all isolated because of the virus another hobby great some good to come out of something bad. Stay safe and your dress looked fabulous.
Great video! I really wanna try this. Definitely for the tan color and maybe play around with the fruity teas as well. There's nothing wrong with smelling like tea. ❤
You certainly were brave doing a tea-dyed dress. It turned out really nice for the look you were aiming to achieve. I half expected it to be streaky, but not so. Great job! Not doing a dress, but gave me good tips. Thanks.
i love your idea but some queries- after 3 hrs can we rinse out excess water and dry in a dryer?? and when we wash it again does it bleed color?? i dont want to stain other clothes while washing?? i am not too sure if vibegar and salt makes it permanent and makes it totally fit to be washed with other clothes without staining and if it does then what ratio of mixture and for how long should i use it??
Love you Tasha! I've watched your videos for years and recently graduated college studying fabrics and textiles, so it was fun to watch a video of yours doing a craft I'm familiar with! The dress turned out beautifully ☺️
I have a lace shirt that became slightly stained, almost tea like. I didn't want to ditch it, so I told my husband I'm tea staining it. He couldn't believe what came out of my mouth. So I hunted the internet to show him and found this. Tea staining was a thing so many years ago with doilies to "antique" them. Maybe it's still a thing? Anyways. I have tea sitting around my house that I can't drink, gets me dizzy. So I found a job for it! I'm boiling a pot of water and just going to soak the whole shirt after it cools to warm.
I love this! It must of smelled so good dying the dress xD If you can I would suggest changing the title to dying the fabric with tea since using actual fabric dye is a lil different ^.^
Its really nice! aren’t you scared that the colour could transfer on the bride’s (white I assume) dress? (like, if you hug her) really love all your videos xoxo
The tea won't come off, it was rinsed clear in the tub, the fabric is stained. It's not transferable! It was more so I didn't want to wash it IN CASE it lightened. I didn't want to risk it. Thanks for watching babe!!
i just got a second hand top online and i thought it would be a rosy nude colour but it is more of a pink, has anyone tried tea staining fabric that itsn't white?
Love love LOVE this!! I'm so happy you promote eco-friendly dye options like this instead of using harmful chemicals and dyes that are both bad for us and our planet. This dress is beautiful on you!!
Am I the only one watching this because I read ALL OF A KIND OF FAMILY UPTOWN 😢
I would love to know if the dye survived the washing of the dress afterwards.
I have done this in the past and it was trial and error I never noted what I did with black tea. lol thanks so much for such a great video! I have some projects coming up! Thank you! I love your dress! You look amazing!
I’m so glad you dyed it the dress is beautiful

The vinegar smell goes away - I rinse my hair in it and the odor disappears after 10-15 mins. Great hair conditioner!! Lovely dress!!!
How durable is this in terms of washing it afterwards? Does it stay dyed or does it fade back to the original colour?
I've seen 3 differant video tea dyes, l must say each is differant but I'm on board with your dress technique ! 👗 🥰

I was skeptical too, but it truly felt like it was going to absorb a stain so it didn’t hurt to try! So happy I did.

I just tried this on a cushion cover after watching your video and used 20 teabags and only needed about 40 seconds in the hot water! Super quick!!
Super helpful! I’m refinishing a dolls body and going to try this to get a flesh color for the little guy! Thanks for the advice!
Can you wash it after the material dries ?
Great video! I really wanna try this. Definitely for the tan color and maybe play around with the fruity teas as well. There's nothing wrong with smelling like tea. ❤
Love the earth tones. Ive got a few white work shirts that I'm going to turn tan. Thanks for the info!
Buy powdered tea... you have then less wasre from tea bags. Thanks for ur help
i was like dazing out towards the end of the video and then i heard "good luck dying" and was like wtc ohhhhhh

This is soooo coool. I'm gonna dye my white short in beige.
I love Beige!
I love Beige!
Do you think I could tint an ivory satin dress? Like how you did this?
Nicely done video! I have a cotton string curtain the I want to dye and this helped me out a lot. Thanks!
omgggg this is so cool! I'm so obsessed with your vibe & aesthetic!!!!
This was so interesting! Loved this video! Glad I rediscovered you after watching your "dye your hair yourself" videos when I was younger!
Seems better than normal dye especially since the tea bags are natural and compostable!
Actually most tea bags contain plastic so they don't fall apart when you soak them.
Hi since it was not washed in the dryer, will it somehow smell like tea? or the smell will go away as well? please some answer me huhu

How brilliant are you? This was so helpful. Thank you.
I'm curious- did the other bridesmaids dye their own dresses or did you have to dye it for them? You looked gorgeous in the dress!
This dress is so beautiful may I ask where you purchased it?
OMG where did you get that jean jacket! Love it!
I had no idea you could tea dye artificial fabrics. Thanks.
Not most, but the texture of this took really well, it's a blend of a few things.
Eeeii! I might get some sheets and tie them up, so they`d get like a tye-dye effect! Love this idea!
Also, your necklace is super cute!
Please make a style look book please
i know this has nothing to do with the tea but where did you get that jean jacket from? it's just what I'm looking for 😍😍
Aritzia! xx
I’m trying this out tonight on polyester items and a cotton shirt for a cosplay. I’ll make a reply to this with what happens!

Hi there!
I think you were so brave to put that
i just got a second hand top online and i thought it would be a rosy nude colour but it is more of a pink, has anyone tried tea staining fabric that itsn't white?
How to? When you didn't know what you doing?
so you smelled like tea on the wedding? 🙈
I actually didn't! The smell faded!
