- THE BEST OF BILL EVANS (FULL ALBUM)
William John Evans (August 16, 1929 - September 15, 1980) was an American jazz pianist and composer who mostly worked as the leader of a trio.[2] His use of impressionist harmony, interpretation of traditional jazz repertoire, block chords, and trademark rhythmically independent, "singing" melodic lines continues to influence jazz pianists today.
Born in Plainfield, New Jersey, United States, he was classically trained at Southeastern Louisiana University and the Mannes School of Music, in New York City, where he majored in composition and received the Artist Diploma. In 1955, he moved to New York City, where he worked with bandleader and theorist George Russell. In 1958, Evans joined Miles Davis's sextet, which in 1959, then immersed in modal jazz, recorded Kind of Blue, the best-selling jazz album ever.[3]
In late 1959, Evans left the Miles Davis band and began his career as a leader, with bassist Scott LaFaro and drummer Paul Motian, a group now regarded as a seminal modern jazz trio. In 1961, two albums were recorded at an engagement at New York's Village Vanguard jazz club, Sunday at the Village Vanguard and Waltz for Debby; a complete set of the Vanguard recordings on 3CDs was issued decades later. However, ten days after this booking ended, LaFaro died in a car accident. After months of seclusion, Evans reemerged with a new trio, featuring bassist Chuck Israels.
In 1963, Evans recorded Conversations with Myself, a solo album created via overdubbing. In 1966, he met bassist Eddie Gómez, with whom he worked for 11 years.
Many of Evans's compositions, such as "Waltz for Debby", have become standards, played and recorded by many artists. Evans received 31 Grammy nominations and seven awards, and was inducted into the DownBeat Jazz Hall of Fame.[4]
The playlist is randomly arranged, I want to give good songs to all of you. Hope you enjoy it.

This man is so unique that no one can imitate him . He always ends up being played by me at those early hours when the world is at rest and only the lonely are up and about seeking a cure for what ills them,, He seems to address where the skill of master intersects with the creativity of the underground bohemian poet,Our decade could use a man like hum but I fear he was one of a kind,
4am, coffee and a cigarette. Rain pounding on the tin roof, with some Evans in my ears.. Real melancholy, just the way I like it.
That's a great post; everything beautifully identified and also beautifully expressed. Thanks very much, and power to your arm.
I think that he is, was, one of the best jazz pianist ever, so far...
He was the best musician
me too...
Jazz Grand Master Bill Evans!!!
Jazz was a sweet spot for america! and Humanity!!! There still are souls out there creating..... TRuely creating, I mean. Jazz has brought me to new regions of my own soul and I know there is enough of it to continue to do so even if no one ever writes another song again. Thats what I love about jazz-It'll continue to inspire and help me retire from a day chalked full of mundane regular happenings. thanks for reading my comments. keep listening
100% agree. Jazz is the most amazing music along with the blues.

Nice album
Thank you for taking the time and effort to make this playlist. Amazing!
I love this and all things Evans -- but I'm having the devil of a time finding Evans' epic iconic recording of My Foolish Heart from the early days that has one of his most breathtaking and perfect solos of all time.
Lovely ❤ Thanks for sharing 🌬

Completely agree.
4:42:47 Pretty modern sound for it's era, hehhh...
Bill Evans is a Jazz pianist, not a Lo-Fi Artist
What with the yoga sh!t at 1:23:17 ~ 1:26:12 ??
Report it! I did
@@celedonio23 how do you report it? It's absolute desecration! Some a**hole trying to get their music heard I guess? Great idea to juxtapose this utter sh*t with one of the greatest jazz pianists of all time. That's really gonna' get me to like it.
@@eliecanetti Click on the 3 dots below the right lower corner of the video screen; then click on report, and voila!
Not sure if Bill Evans looks more like less-gangster-Tommy Shelby or less-psycho-Patrick Bateman.
this is a brilliant compilation, the only thing i don't understand is why would someone put these 10-minute ''interludes'' of dull lofi hiphop (whatever genre is it, i dunno) all over the video timeline
Its a livestream replay so maybe the stream went down or something. Very weird though, i agree.

This is horrible. This is not Bill Evans but someone trying to cash in on someone else's name.
It's Bill mate - I can tell at an 'aural glance', because I know Bill Evan's (& the trio's) sound like I know old friends, and I'm reasonably familiar with his catalogue of work. I think most of us commenting here have a measure of this understanding. Maybe you were accidentally listening to another tab, or you just don't know Bill Evan's work well enough to know that you don't actually like it. Either way you're off track with your accusation, and you're alone (at least here) in your summation that this music is "horrible".
Listen again Don - with your ears open this time! (You may be pleasantly surprised!). All the best with it.
@@jazzwarrior7206 What do you call 1:23:35 - 1:26:00 ish and again at 3:03:00? That is layering in some modern house stuff or a secret code or whatever. It sure as heck is not Bill Evans. maybe it is an intermission marker or whatever but for me, maybe it is just me, I get physically ill when that sneaks in.
And the entire channel is based on misrepresentation. They layer in something else and mention their own work in the notes. People who listen to this and drop in at a random point will get an entirely wrong view of the artist mentioned. This is artistically disgusting.
I dont think anyone believes that part is Bill Evans
@@donm1612 me too. Methinks Jazz Warrior missed that.
