I think I have something to offer on this topic since I have a Staffing/Recruiting business in AZ that specializes in Tech roles. Plus I am 100% MAGA. None of my clients hire H1Bs. However if they are H1Bs that are from India and have earned a GC they are put on a higher level than US workers. They are top, bcs of their culture rewards educational achievements above all else. I have a personal friend and past client who was a H1B and is now a GC and I used to play tennis with his family on a group lesson every Saturday. That was 2 young girls and he and his wife all used to show up and play with the group every Saturday. But once the girls started Jr High they weren't allowed to play anymore. They had to focus on school now. One day the father and I had lunch together and he told me his oldest daughter wanted to be a Medical Dr. He was a bit upset with her choice. He said everything starts with Engineering. So she went and got her engineering BS degree first and applied to many Medical schools and finally got accepted and bcs of her Engineering degree now she will more than likely be an R&D Dr when she graduates. Because of their culture differences' and I have seen this in person they are head and shoulders above our people unfortunately. My Clients aren't tech centric so not in "Tech" industry like Tesla Google Salesforce Oracle .... But like most successful businesses today Tech is critical for their business to run on moment to moment basis. They will still take a Indian GC over an American at least 70% of the time. Generally speaking most have gotten their BS in India and then MS in US. Plus have min. 6 years hands on experience. What may be the great equalizer is pay H1Bs the same as you would and American minus the sponsorship fees. It is really a culture thing and cant stress that enough. If you are in tech field and you want to be top in your niche there is no way in heck you can do it exclusively w Americans. Sadly I say this! We live in a give and take world. We want our kids to be involved in sports play in bands and have quality of life over disciplined on education as Indians do. Sorry so long! I do believe the level of H1Bs we allow today is adequate 0r should grow a bit because of AI and Quantum chip both on cutting edge. I hope this help people see the difference. Not meant to offend anyone. Everyone have a great Christmas season and New Year!
Vivek should have been wise enough to give this explanation. Instead he mocked and was so condescending. He stepped into it and I can see why many are absolutely furious with him. Thank you!
You paint with a very broad brush and believe that Americans are less valuable that the IT gods from India and that is fine. So, why should we train anybody in the US since we are destined to fain anyway? Why not just let the master race come over and show us how it is done? Americans can just live in abject poverty because we are all stupid and lazy.
Medical schools are a cartel of schools and the medical governing agencies. This cartel limits enrollment to drive up tuition costs for the VERY limited spots and and creates artificial shortages of doctors @@Poseidon-i4t
Lol! Simply stating that Trump and Vikek were bullied or were not dating material during thier high school, is ignoring the poor study culture around STEM in American schools and is being ignorant. You can't aimply laugh off this as some Nerds wanting to take revenge for their lack of prom dates. This is a serious issue. Ignore it at the expense of American youth!
Fundamental misunderstanding by Tom Bevan of what H1B visa is. Tech bros are absolutely in favor of bringing in way more high-skilled Asian tech workers in the existing H1B/adapted program because we (US) simply do not produce any where close to what's required. If you are going to compete with China (producing more engineers than the world combined) you need the best as well as the next tier. The illiteracy surrounding this issue is truly epic.
Please remember there are other programs that bring over foreigners for STEM jobs - H1B isn't the only one. If there is such a shortage why are so many US citizens being laid off and replaced by H1B visa workers?
This takes jobs away from American tech workers.

Who's stopping you from becoming a heart surgeon? Or a software developer in Google.
@@Poseidon-i4t … I don’t want to become either, actually. I’m a telecom, hardware & low voltage kinda guy.

Every Democrat mentioned as a potential candidate in 2028 is a disaster!
Affordable Health Care is terrible and super expensive and initially you couldn't keep your Dr as Obama promised. Super expensive too!
