My disagreement is rooted in the observation that these companies often lay off their lower-level employees while their top executives continue to receive high salaries, even during difficult financial times that affect everyone else. It seems unfair that those in positions of power are not willing to share in the company's financial burdens by accepting lower salaries for a year or two, while the little guy is left to bear the brunt of the cuts.
I love that you're doing more Universal content, Dev. They've really won me over from Disney, and that's saying a lot since I've been a Disney fan from birth, but it's great to see the investments they're making. Universal also does a great job helping out parents with neurodiverse kiddos... something that doesn't get a lot of coverage, but means a lot to some of us.
My favorite Harry Potter character is Sirius Black. Best quote "If you want to know what a man's like, take a good look at how he treats his inferiors, not his equals". I thought he was the pivotal moral character of the entire series.

It always is sad to see employees lose jobs, but as you point out just look at the opportunities that Universal will be bringing to the area within the next 12 months or so. Give the organization credit for what its future plans are.

I'm sure there's a lot that goes into the decisions. How many interactions these performers are creating, how long they're lasting, etc. I hate to see anyone lose their job, but I have faith that universal is offering them positions somewhere else within the parks. I've never interacted with the cab fella or the port of entry folks. I'm walking right past them to get to where I'm going

Hey Dev, sorry to disagree with you. But the budget cuts are not cool. And it's not just the talent. A lot of what separated Disney and kept them in front of the pack was the impeccable condition of their parks. I remember my last trip before we moved here. I went back home and told friends and family "Yeah it's expensive. But when you get there and take a look around, you see were your money went. Dumbo looks like it was built yesterday." Disney has been failing on that. And people have noticed and paid attention with their wallets. This is the perfect time for USO to pick up the torch and run with it. Not make excuses of why they need to cut not just talent, but maintenance. Just my two cents.

Coming from an entertainment background, I do agree with you Dev. It is sooooo unfortunate, that the entertainers are being let go, but that is part of the life. When the new park opens there will be a big need for entertainers again. Love your content! Have you ever done a staycation at the Drury Plaza hotel? I had some relatives that stayed there and raved about it. It is close to Disney and has transportation to the parks as well as lots of other amenities within the hotel itself. I still can't fully enjoy a universal only trip with the family as they don't have much for the smaller kids and aren't very size inclusive for my family but we live visiting both Disney and Universal as there is room to love both. Still don't understand how it's all love when universal changes things up but moaning and complaining when Disney changes things I guess it's a Florida resident thing. Fav character is hard to select but I do love me some Ron.

As for your “rant”…I think alot of the aggravation/angst regarding the changes at Universal is that most are used to Disney doing less and charging more; but Universal had done a decent job of keeping as much nostalgia as possible until recently. I hate to see the actors let go but you’re right that they’re on the cusp of a new dawn. Hopefully, there will be compromises to satisfy everyone. I’m truly excited!

I was a loyal universal passholder for many years, but switched to Disney after moving here two years ago bc I had never been to WDW. I wish Universal had more mobile order options and better food and snacks in general. I always ended up waiting in line for ages just for a drink or a snack. They dont make it as easy to spend money like the Mouse does lol I love Luna Lovegood btw shes my favorite character!!

Dev always love your takes but disagree with you this time. Universal fans of course hated the disney cuts but what we really hate about the universal cuts is that it makes it seem like universal is being like disney. We are fans because universal is different with everything they've done so any semblance between them and disney scares us. Also a few street actors being let go as compensation to a billion dollar theme park build doesn't really make a lot of sense. It's like apple removing coffee creamer from their corporate building to fund the next iPhone. Also best potter character is always Dobby!

I especially like it because i have never been to that park. I live in Oregon so California is where we go fir parks. Ive only found your channel recently and i really love it. It was better in 2019 except for velocicoaster and Hagrid. They are having staffing problems.

Hey Dev, sorry to disagree with you. But the budget cuts are not cool. And it's not just the talent. A lot of what separated Disney and kept them in front of the pack was the impeccable condition of their parks. I remember my last trip before we moved here. I went back home and told friends and family "Yeah it's expensive. But when you get there and take a look around, you see were your money went. Dumbo looks like it was built yesterday." Disney has been failing on that. And people have noticed and paid attention with their wallets. This is the perfect time for USO to pick up the torch and run with it. Not make excuses of why they need to cut not just talent, but maintenance. Just my two cents.

Coming from an entertainment background, I do agree with you Dev. It is sooooo unfortunate, that the entertainers are being let go, but that is part of the life. When the new park opens there will be a big need for entertainers again. Love your content! Have you ever done a staycation at the Drury Plaza hotel? I had some relatives that stayed there and raved about it. It is close to Disney and has transportation to the parks as well as lots of other amenities within the hotel itself. Also love your cruise vlogs. Looking forward to your next staycations!

I still can't fully enjoy a universal only trip with the family as they don't have much for the smaller kids and aren't very size inclusive for my family but we live visiting both Disney and Universal as there is room to love both. Still don't understand how it's all love when universal changes things up but moaning and complaining when Disney changes things I guess it's a Florida resident thing. Fav character is hard to select but I do love me some Ron.

As for your “rant”…I think alot of the aggravation/angst regarding the changes at Universal is that most are used to Disney doing less and charging more; but Universal had done a decent job of keeping as much nostalgia as possible until recently. I hate to see the actors let go but you’re right that they’re on the cusp of a new dawn. Hopefully, there will be compromises to satisfy everyone. I’m truly excited!

I was a loyal universal passholder for many years, but switched to Disney after moving here two years ago bc I had never been to WDW. I wish Universal had more mobile order options and better food and snacks in general. I always ended up waiting in line for ages just for a drink or a snack. They dont make it as easy to spend money like the Mouse does lol I love Luna Lovegood btw shes my favorite character!!
Most places now are mobile order except for the little food carts spread out and whimpy’s burgers

We went in February. We just fell in with Harry Potter world. It’s so magical. Watching your videos makes me want to go back. We like Luna too and Dobby too. Hagrid’s motorbike is amazing.

Dev always love your takes but disagree with you this time. Universal fans of course hated the disney cuts but what we really hate about the universal cuts is that it makes it seem like universal is being like disney. We are fans because universal is different with everything they've done so any semblance between them and disney scares us. Also a few street actors being let go as compensation to a billion dollar theme park build doesn't really make a lot of sense. It's like apple removing coffee creamer from their corporate building to fund the next iPhone. Also best potter character is always Dobby!

Its great that you are going to the park and then getting something to give away. Ive been watching utube for a long time and give aways are a newsurprise ive only seen a few times. I especially like it because i have never been to that park. I live in Oregon so California is where we go fir parks.
