The unlocked frames are the worst thing you can do. It creates unstable fps, whereas locked fps, lets say 240 provides much more stable experience. Im very bad at explaining stuff so you should google about it.
i see a lot of studders i would either overclock or undervolt you would get 30-60 fps more with overclock but with undervolt its gonna make your computer balanced and a lot smoother

Please, I beg you to not give advice if you aren't sure of your facts. Undervolting can technically be done while overclocking, undervolting is not underclocking. All undervolting does it make the chip run cooler, AND make it run slightly less stable; the default generous amounts of voltage are to increase stability. An overclock will boost performance (But afaik not much, maybe 30FPS), and also make it less stable, it's just you're pulling the clock away from voltage, rather than voltage away from clock as undervolting does.

I suggest you playing on 144 fps or 165 because then youll have a stable framerate in arena. Also Optimizing your pc the correct way would help your fps stay stable !
i713700K + 3070, no optimization aside from nvidia and it FN so smoothly. i imagine this setup would feel like you're moving one second ahead of everyone but i agree with the other comments, cap your fps at 240 or 360, whatever your monitor is.
Why cap FPS? You want as much FPS as possible even if it doesn't show up on your monitor, because it will continue to reduce how long your inputs (like shots) take to register.

No performance mode is optimized for any hardware, all performance mode is, is just a change in API to disable effects, shaders and other performance hungry settings that you otherwise can't disable in DX11 or DX12. If you have a RTX 3070+ I would recommend stay away from performance mode as once you reach 350 - 400FPS you start becoming CPU bound as most processors can't push more than that. If your GPU is not saying 80 - 95% usage (like in the video it's like 50%) it means you're CPU bound, which at that point means you're wasting graphical fidelity for no performance gains. Anything above 3070 I would use DX12 and optimize the settings in that API not performance mode, even DX12 set to lowest settings makes the game look less pixelated and grainy than performance mode on highest settings. Also 30 series + GPU's can use DLSS in DX12 when they can't in performance, which means you can gain even more performance by rendering at lower resolution and having your GPU upscale it. Also setting textures to maximum is good in DX12 as it makes enemies easier to see, and there is negligible performance loss.
