    44/50 with the last two categories 20/20! "Blue blood" refers to people of royal lineage and aristocracy. Since royalty was wealthy enough to pay people to work their farmlands, their skin was pale enough that the blue veins were clearly visible, thus leading people to believe that they had blue blood.
    Thanks for the quizzes.

      It has to do with the fact that royalty /nobles used to not go into the sun and walked under a sunscreen, so their skin would stay pale and the veins look blue through the skin; hence the blue blood...

    0:52 "Rabium" should, of course, be "Radium".
    1:22 Aristotle died in 323BC. The term "scientist" could hardly predate him by 2 millennia!
    7:14 "Luftwaffe" is pronounced LUFT-va-fuh. German "w" is pronounced like the English "v". Odd you missed this as you pronounced "Wehrmacht" correctly.
    9:37 "... the king and his government WERE not above the law".
    10:26 It's "Aqueduct", not "Aquaduct".

    Sean, does the name of your channel have a meaning?

    • @detormentis
      @detormentis  Год назад +2

      Hi Sam. Not really. When I created the channel I was looking for a unique name. Not something with the word "Quiz" in it, as most channels do. The aim was to create a channel that "deters boredom". So a bit of playing with words, and some Google Translate (Latin), I came up with the name. I know boredom in Latin is taedium, but I didn't want something that can be associated with "tedious" 😁. So we have "Detor" meaning giver, and "Mentis" which means "Of the Mind", in latin. Very grandiose 😂🤣😂, though very incorrect. "Giver of the mind" should be dator animi in latin.
      And no, I don't speak latin, so this was all Google Translate dependent.
