crystal battle axe gameplay: valheim ashlands

this went better than expected, probably because my axe skill has gotten so high from using dual axes. its really not effective against any of the mobs, but that is more of a reflection of how bad the battle axe is in general, and how much an overhaul is needed.
proposal for overhaul:
damage type: 75% slash, 25% blunt
primary: 2x stamina, 2x damage, 1.5x stagger, a heavy overhead chop with unlimited cleave but a relatively narrow ray. meant to deal high single target damage. no combo.
secondary: 1x stamina, 0.5 damage, 4x stagger, high knockback, a cross check shove using the shaft of the weapon. similar to the current secondary but has a wider ray, like 180 degrees.
meta: try to bunch up groups of enemies using the cross check for control, then smash them with a huge overhead when you think you can hit 2 or more with the same attack. the overhead primary deals high damage, unlimited cleave, but narrow ray, so you have to set up your shots to be effective. for single targets, roll and primary, or parry and primary.
the battle axe is so heavy that it should deal partial blunt damage, smashing targets as well as cutting.
get rid of the existing secondary "thrust" animation, which looks stupid and doesnt make sense given the weight balance implied by the weapon model. and get rid of the primary combo, which is just awful.

I just cant make myself use any of the 20% movement penalty weapons.

@@ringofasho7721 as a base model, battle axe needs to be a lot stronger to justify the 20%. atgier, dual axes, great sword are 5%. crazy.

@sittingforgetting9907 agreed. What good is a crazy cool looking battleaxe if the slow walk and swing speed don't have some sort of high damage payoff. As a side note I was thrilled when they made krom only 5%. I hope I can keep krom viable late game

I like the fast gameplay with bow and fenris and now with the new asken set. But I realy do miss the onehanded dagger with shield gameplay. Skoll and hati are fast, but the parry power is not enough
Im also sad, they didnt add updates for the battle axe or new axes. Im realy happy, you took the crystal axe for a ride to the ashlands :-)

@@atronach3140 no then the secondary attack hasn't changed. You can go watch any valheim crystal axe video before the Ashlands update and the secondary attack is same as this video
