- We are unseasonably cool for this time of year, but we will take it as it’s helping many of our plants. Get a great start before the summer heat kicks in. Tour our garden with us and let’s check out what’s going on here in North Texas.
I've been watching it rain all day. I'm so happy for the rain.
Looking great, Jill. Our blueberry bushes are loaded; plum, pear, peach, & apple trees are also loaded with fruit. So very thankful! Now the battle begins with the birds, raccoons, & DEER. ❤️
The high tunnel looks great 🌱🌱🌱
So nice!! It’s starting to snow here in my area of Oakland County Michigan. It’s so cold outside! Just finished playing ball with the family dog and boy…it’s cold out! Dog loves it 🤣🤣 To see your plants is exciting for things to come…❤Blessings dear Jill.👋🏻😀💕
Everything looks great Jill! The seeds I got from you guys have germinated well. Excited to see them progress. Stay blessed!
That was one Beast of a storm that just moved through
Good morning glory !
Oh wow Jill, my jaw literally dropped when you went into the smaller high tunnel. I was amazed at how large the squash was. When you went to the tomatoes, I was impressed again. Yes, the smaller high tunnel is definitely green. It looks beautiful. I didn't realize it was going to be so much cooler today. Earlier in the week I was telling my sister I usually put off turning on my A/C until June. Last year I made it to mid May, the earliest ever in twenty one years. I was worried I wouldn't make it out of April this year. I am so happy for the cooler weather. Getting older sure is messing up my style! 🤣I'm going before the Father with your well situation. Let us know. Have a great day working in the dirt. ❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏
I pray you are able to repair the pump. You are right! It's always something.
The high tunnels look great. ❤
It all looks great !!!🌶️🫑🌱🌱🌱
Everything looks so healthy!
Everything looks wonderful Jill❤️ God bless!
Wish we had some of your rain. We are south of Houston and all the rain stops or moves on before it gets here. We are really dry.
Me too and that’s so true!
Same in north Florida. We get SOME( maybe an hour or so ) , then days without. Im constantly watching for rain so I don't have to water.😅 .We can use that soaker rain here.
Looking great there! 😀😀
You guys got the storm we got the cold in Lubbock. Yuk yuk 😂
Everything looks great! Just said a prayer for your well pump situation, hope you're able to get it fixed quickly.
Your work is paying off. Your plants are beautiful. I'm in Central Oklahoma and wish we had your rain. It's all south of us.
Mighty cool out there this morning - but I'll take it. The tomatoes are looking yummy already and I thought I saw a bloom already among the patty pan squash. Prayers for you, yours and that the pump situation will be easily resolved.
Hi Jill! Garden is looking so good there!! I’ve got strawberries flowering/fruiting, a cherry tomato plant I should be harvesting in a couple weeks, and a bush tomato looking fantastic, all on the deck, so exciting! Hope the pump issue isn’t too serious.🤞 sending hugs Gal!
Tomatoes I overwintered bell peppers and I’m already getting bell peppers before the other ones get started, but they’re growing fast too so🫑🌱
All of them tomatoes look great. I just planted tomatoes in the ground well from seeds so they’re popping up already, but you know here in Texas. We have a long season we’ll get I’ll get tomatoes all the way to the freeze.
Sending prayers Jill! 🙏
stay Safe and May God Bless You All!!!
We are a couple hours northeast of yall, and that storm passed over us, just as I was going out to milk goats and feed livestock. Even the cows bee-lined for the barn. My garden is so muddy i cant plant. My sweet potato slips are way past ready to plant, but I simply cant get anything in the ground right now.
Everything in your tunnel looks great!
Morning Jill! The first part of your storm is starting to hit the Ark-La-Tex. Gonna be an All Day Deal. Be safe!
Good morning Jill. Your high tunnel looks wonderful, and the raised beds too. I already have a cilantro going to seed, and the dill and cilantro I planted loves the cooler weather here in mid-Kentucky. Sugar baby peas are almost 2' tall. Beets are growing, but are still only 2" tall. Might plant tomatoes late next week. I'm getting impatient now. You inspire me so much. Praying for your pumps. Hugs to all, have a blessed day ❤❤❤
Those tomatoes look amazing.
Looks wonderful Jill! I was able to plant some lettuce, beets and carrots. Hoping to plant some peas later if I feel up to it. Then potatoes and onions late next week. We are still over a month away from tomatoes, squash, zucchini and other warmer crops.
Your gardens are beautiful.
Oh my goodness, Mrs.Jill
Yalls Tomatoes look amazing 👏.
So blessed 🙌, I'm so happy for yall .
What do you feed them ?
Mine our doing good ,but not like yours 😊😊
Have a wonderful weekend, and stay safe 🙏
Wow!! Looks great!!
Your garden is so beautiful!..I know my neighbors thought I was going crazy by planting all my stuff out and covering with frost protection every night...the early jump gives an early harvest!...my hubby n I are now installing shade cloth over the peppers and tomatoes getting ready for the heat wave that comes every yr!
I think we’ve had the same storm here in west central, Texas. And for some weird reason we’ve lost power twice. I will have to say that they got it back on much quicker than they had projected. Super grateful for that because I had several projects going. Man everything looks great at your place!
Sending prayers for your well pump, and for everyone in the path of storm's, y'all stay safe.
Here in Va , it's a beautiful day. I'm so tempted to plant our tomatoes and peppers but I'm trying to behave and wait until end of month to warm up just a little more. Got a week of cool nights coming.
I'm loving your garden. It all looks amazing and I'm kinda living through y'all right now why we wait. Our cool stuff is doing amazing though.
Your tomatoes look amazing!!
Everything looks beautiful! Hope this summer is not so blazing hot.
we are getting rain. Here in Oklahoma to its nice. Jill you Greg and pops stay safe and i hope your well gets fixed.
That was a WILD STORM in Montague County this morning. Still raining here 6+" later... Pond is full, but the driveway is washed out.
Pineapple tomatoes taste amazing if u never had them before
Hi from Tyler, so far it’s looking like the bad stuff is a little north of us.
Your plants look so good. My tomatoes outside are not doing even close to your high tunnel ones. They are not liking these cold temperatures.
Raining like cats n dogs up in ftw
I would love to be getting some of that rain. Central Texas is still very short on rain. Getting scared for summer at this rate.
Ugh!
Thank you for all the valuable info you put out for your community and myself, but I do have a question. "Do you prune your tomatoes?" Could you do a video on if you do prune, and if not, what is your strategy on how you grow such great tomatoes. Thanks a bunch. Joey
Yes but only indeterminate! Make sure you pluck the suckers off and keep low vines from touching the ground
Have you had caterpillar issues, I'm finding quite a few, quite early for me?
I wish I had a high tunnel south east iowa and we are down to freezing temperatures
I actually scaled back onto tomatoes. I think I did about 25 last year and I’m a small gardener but this time I think I did about 10.
It’s supposed to rain all day here in Aledo.
Spoke too soon storm came with rain and hail!😢
🙏🏻
We finally got 2 1/2 inches of badly needed rain.
I pray that the pump/well issue be resolved in Jesus Christ Most Holy Name for very little to no money.
Tomatoes in April. WOW.
What fertilizer do you use? And how often do you fertilize?
Will you just raise the sides of the plastic to get your squash pollinated or will you hand pollinate? Also, if the sides are up, how do you combat squash bugs and vine borers? As for your plant sale leftovers, would you sell any off the farm now? And lastly 😅, where in Texas, are you located? Thank God for the bountiful rains and I pray you are able to fix the well pump. Have a GREAT day!!
Oh yes we raise when weather permits! North Texas a little south of FW! Amen!
What day is the storm?April 20th ??
We’re expected to get storms tonight. The plants are gonna love it though.
GOD IS GOOD. THE WORD SAYS THE RIGHTEOUS WILL NEVER GO BEGGING BREAD. PRAYING YOUR WELL PROBLEM IS SOMETHING CHEAP TO FIX. WHAT KIND OF MINT. WISH SOMEONE WOULD GROW SOM PINEAPPLE MINT. IT WOULD BE GREAT FREEZED DRIED FOR TEAS.
Blessings from Aledo Texas. Looks beautiful Jill!
Do you have to battle Squash Vine Borers at your location?
What an intense morning. They told us “chance of rain” originally. You never know in Texas!
Hello. Im already fighting with white flies in my green house. Last year they were impossible to get rid of. Tried neem oil, soapy water and diatomaceous earth. Do you ever have a problem with them? Everything looks awesome.God bless and Much love. 💖✝️
Before I planted I poured boiling water over the soil. Let it cool, then planted. As I do all my seedlings in bedroom windows, I don't want pesks flying while I sleep. It really helped this spring.
