Thank you for providing us with a glimpse of the work that has been done in the island /Cayo Santiago with these monkeys. What an awesome opportunity to study their cognitive behavior after the devastating event of hurricane Maria. Please post more of these videos!
I know that keep them isolated so they can study their behavior is an excellent idea. The problem is, weather patterns have changed due to global warming so you can expect more storms like Maria or even more powerful which means the monkeys will be in tremendous. Their habitat has basically destroyed. They need to be moved to a more secure place, maybe mainland USA. Just a though
I not s fan of the idea of those monkeys or any monkeys . You don't want to turn that like a Zoo Look at Florida community now And PR is mot that big to handle and confront such issues if out of hand .
We will FORCE them to care about climate change. We must simulate the effects of 120 degree temperatures in order to prepare them. Even if it kills some, they MUST understand what will happen to them. Even if it means killing them all!
Yes indeed they are in Florida terrorizing the citizens Talk about thinking ahead of time a gift in 1933 Honestly I don't want any gift from any one that is not to benefit self Houses. .farms with cattles etc
Puerto Rico has never been over run by Rhesus. They are native to Asia, they only exist on that one island because researchers established a colony of them there in the 30s for medical research. The population planted on this island were taken from India specifically.
@@broctheil4744 if it is research, why don't they use autuchtonous species, apart from protecting those species? The reason is because there are no such species (at least in that quantity),as there are macaques. That is what I mean by "invasive species".
With the grace of god Puerto Rico will rise again I hope this time without corruption.

They should do a complete cull on that island.
WOW GREAT VIDEO 👍
IT'S SO IMPORTANT THAT WE SHUD HELP OUT...
GOD BLESS THESE MONKEYS.. & THOSE THAT ARE HELPING THEM OUT.
❤❤❤❤😁😁
I hope everything grows back before another one or hope they can plant 100 trees to crest shades and for them to feel safe
Can you replay trees and make temp shelters from the sun?

Some of the worst hurricanes ever recorded occurred during the 1940s and these little guys are still around so they will be just fine 🐒 👌🏼
there's a monkey island off coast of south Carolina as well.

Animals aren’t worried about climate change they just go with the flow.

They will adopt whatever environment problem there is
are these not an invasive species from Asia?

Yes, they are invasive, the macaques were destroying the ecosystem on Desecheo National Wildlife Refuge, Puerto Rico and were eradicated.
They are invasive vermin and should be isolated or eradicated.
SO HOW MUCH MONEY GOES INTO WATCHING MONKEYS FIND SHADE? THIS JUST GOES TO SHOW YOU YOU CAN MAKE ANYTHING SOUND SCIENTIFIC AND NECESSARY.
What is this so call food they are feeding them with? Where’s the fruit and vegetables 🥗 that they need? It looks like some kind of cob but not corn 🌽
Can anyone go there?
you can take a boat to the shore but access is restricted.
@@JimmyFranny thanks for replying. Well,I guess it is to avoid people to get monkeys or to get diseases there😕
@@morganix007 sadly I can’t have as a pet
@@morganix007 yea it's also a scientific research study so they're for research
And even on the boat, you have to stay a certain distance away! You can still see the monkeys on the island though from where you’re allowed to anchor
Lmlo that title sounds so racist. im cracking up here.
Sounds like a sanctuary on the mainland is needed. Puerto Rico may once again be over ran by these adorable creatures ✌🏽
