Thanks for this. I was concerned that I should have waited for the Recurve, but after watching this I think I made a good decision on going with the 300W Maxspect Razor X supplemented with 2 x T5 on either side. I think you would prefer the RSX (Razor X ). Much less Red and Green light, way more Blue and Royal Blue. 4 controllable channels that are well grouped. I think the side strips are a great idea with great potential but are not quite there yet, I would rather have that power put into the main clusters which seem really good on the X. Thanks for the review
Thanks for all the helpful comments! There are thumbscrew holes all up and down the bottom of the fixture. I was able to make it span the tank using 4 screws on the front end and just 2 on the back end of the fixture. I would still stick to the standard 4 foot tank with this. Mine is a 5 footer.
I agree with you that cannels 3 and 4 (red and green) are quite an odd choice, but channel 5 (aquamarine/cyan) is actually a large blanket of the blue spectrum, so it is actually very useful in my opinion. Either way, tank looks great! Thx for the high quality vids:)
Given that the have a freshwater setting on the Syna-G app, they were probably trying to make this a universal light usable on freshwater as well with the green and red LEDs. They could have just released two versions, Planted and Reef instead. Meanwhile reefers pay a premium for a bunch of lights they will never use and also how many freshwater tank owner pay a grand on lighting their tanks?
Nice vid. Lights look good. Hopefully the will perform well for corals. Just a suggestion, background music was loud and made it difficult to hear what you were saying.
nice tank, I am curious how does the side look with the overflow, I am thinking about this tank but cant find anything online give details on how the overflow side looks.
Lisa DiMercurio It doesnt change the physical led counts and how weak the wing strip lights are. I liked the center clusters and if i was going lps or had a 4 foot tank I would consider the regular razor. The recurve is still the prettiest fixture I have ever seen.
1.) that seems like BS to me that they designed the fans on the top to be off centered from the hole cutout, and I'd like to see the data that says it was better that way in terms of air movement..those morons could've just made the cutouts bigger if that was the case. 2.) Why wouldn't you have just removed two of the screws on the brackets so that you could stretch the brackets out further to fit the tank?
There is Radions, then everything else. Maxpsect still cant even get a phone app to control these? Still need 100 percent on the Razors just to grow SPS is crazy. Still lagging behind Radions.
I haven't seen anything come out that ICv6 can control gyres. I was surprised to see that they put the ICv6 with these Razors since Ethereal owners were not to happy with it.

The center cluster is great. I would have considered swapping for the razor X had I already not had the kessils laying around.

U can remove the screws to extend the mounting legs
Wow, use the screws. You can adjust how wide you need it
Yes just try to use two screws on both sides and slide those legs out, nice looking light!!
Don't put music in the video. Hard to hear well...
Ricardo Valongo My mistake. Thanks for the feedback.

Light looks awesome brother 🙌🏽 thanks for the review
Loving the light buddy looks real nice 💪

Great review, can you remove the thumb screws to move the legs bracket across further
Phil Hulkes I could but then there would only be 2 screws per leg. Not sure if that is safe.
Puff Daddy Reef that’s what I’d do for sure
Puff Daddy Reef it's a shame they don't supply an additional strip of metal to screw into the inner holes to pin the edge of the brackets
Buy small stainless steel washers that will help support the 2 thumb screws and it should be fine
Moving just to two on one worked. Thanks!
Get the syna-g and hanging kit asap. Please make the stand solid for this lightfixture and make it safe
Jeroro Mouse got the legs to work but still not 100% Safe. Will get the hanging kit as soon as it is available.
I'm wonder if manufacture able to come up with software to change the colors of strip lights.
John Doe That would be cool. But it won't replace the 30 plus red leds with white
nice tank, I am curious how does the side look with the overflow, I am thinking about this tank but cant find anything online give details on how the overflow side looks.
Oneil's Reef You want to know how the tank looks from the side? It looks awesome!
Just do extra support until you know its safe please..its an awesome new design light fixture
Just ordered mine. Same 120 as yours. Got it for $710 from Bulkreefsupply
Great video I have the old maxspect what is the cost of the curve
Superyellowtang $1300 for 48 inch fixture.
😳
Why is the music mixed so loud? We can barely hear you.
I learned. Check my new stuff
Use a air stone for water movement
Does it has an internal timer to control a sunrise and a sundown automatically ?
Ricardo Valongo Yes it does. And it is pretty easy to use.
Beautiful looking light. You're like my me I prefer the kessel's. Also I like the way you pronounce my name. Sending peace your way bless you brother
Just throwing this out there but might work!! What about a nice size air pump for water flow
I know you already got rid of the maxpect recurve but after this vid I watched reefbuilders and they used a phone app that blends all the colors

What did you do with the ap700?
Lisa DiMercurio On the aquatic life fixture now.
No point buying it if your not using 3 channels or did you send it bk 😂
Sent it back. A first for me.
Returned it and got this: ruclips.net/video/6oK2T2iJ_pA/видео.html

Sorry about that!
whot a lovely debil, you make my day mate
AP 700 is a kid.

The AP700 is far superior to this!
It depends on the application and $. I would need at least 2 ap700s for this tank. One was not enough.
Sell it. Get g4

There is an app, you just need the MaxSpect ICv6. Its about50 bucks and it controls both the light + gyres etc
I haven't seen anything come out that ICv6 can control gyres. I was surprised to see that they put the ICv6 with these Razors since Ethereal owners were not to happy with it.
