I enjoy the content on this channel. Having said that, this thing is a hard pass for me. If I didn't have prior real-world experience with firing this thing, then I might have thought differently about it, but if you´ve experienced the concussive blast wave slapping you in the face, having the snot in your sinuses blow out of your nose if you fire it with your mouth closed, or the sheer weight of it hanging off your neck while marching through thick woodland terrain, then there really is no substitute :D
"Blows the snot out of your nose if you fire with your mouth closed" Sounds great for summer allergy sufferers. Terrible for anyone in the same postcode, however.
Without having the shell to take apart myself, to solve the short travel of the firing pin in the shell, should be relatively simple to either shim to the plunger so it pushes the firing pin further. Or if that's not possible, I would say you could add epoxy to the end of the pin so it's longer, or drill a rod into the pin so that rod can reach the grenade properly
Drilling/tapping in a small grub screw into the firing pin to extend it might be a viable solution to the firing pin issues. It could allow for variable levels of adjustment so you could use various 40mm/taggin shells along with the VFC shells if you wanted
Man, I was thinking all that plastic and flimsy details meant it'd be an acceptable price, but oofh. It's about 900€ anywhere I can find it in Sweden, ironically. That along with the finicky loading mechanism just makes it a haaard pass. For that amount of money, I can call up a few madlads with 3D printers and CNC machines to jury-rig a better one myself.
I feel like thats the case with almost any airsoft launcher. In the US we get the benefit of being able to buy demilled versions to make into more realistic version
It’s been a while since I have screwed around with a gustav, but I am pretty sure the pads are held on with just the zip tie. It was never really an issue. I am actually kinda impressed. The way the shell indexes using that slot, with the “firing pin” on the side, is true to the original. I kinda expected there to be an inline firing system for this replica, hidden in the Venturi somewhere.
the model that i used, the m3e1, is made of titanium with a main sight that has a rangefinder and a sort of ballistic computer. and on the m3e1, instead of it being zipties to hold the facepad, theyre adjustable straps, though zipties are used when those straps break
A quick correction, the "granatgevär m/48" was developed in 1946, but adopted in 1948, the m/48 standing for model 1948. However the predecesor to the grg m/48 was in use from 1942 in the Swedish military and was called Pansarvärnsgevär m/42.
i used these in the AUS Army in fact i got perminant damage for firing 8 times within an hour in Afghanistan (you are meant to only fire it 5 times a week) yes the cushioning on this older model was held in place by UV resistant zip ties a misconception is that this can be used against tanks it cant the best you could ever hope for is a mobility kill its primarily for infantry and thin skinned vehicles while it can in theory kill a tank the placement has to be kind of all the stars and atoms are aligned and the god of war is on your side kind of thing you are trained to just let tanks past if manning this another interesting fact is that the iron sights are more accurate than using the scope
5 times a week ??? That can only be bullshit, because during illumination fire alone you already shoot every 35-40 seconds and that for atleast 10 times in a row. Besides that the illumination rounds are way more stuffed with propellant than the standard tracer-HEAT round. I have never had damage except the feeling of pressure behind my eyes for a couple of hours after the shooting The funny thing is they told us to open eyes and mouth widely when you pull the trigger, so the pressure won‘t damage your ears…. Yeah, u can imagine who much dirt I ate and my instructors laughed their ass off 😂 It‘s a running gag which only reason to exist is to make the instructors smile
The prices on these things appear to have gone up a cool 1-200 bucks. For that price, it being plastic is criminal. It's literally a tube, the easiest shape to stick on a machine and turn into something. Do I want one? Oh hell yeah. But even I don't think I can justify this if it's nothing more than a glorified wall hanger. At that point just 3d print the damn thing and be done with it.
if the problem with the shells compatibility with other branches is the lenght of the firing ping travel ... Why not just 3D print a longer one? If the space where the firing ping rests allows it just making a longer one should do the trick and would allow you to use other and more powerfull options. Edit: I've checked the update about the product. My impresion about it: Yep.That's it.
The first thought that comes to mind is some sort of version of the Tag launcher grenade system, that's as long as the dummy shell, but I wonder if that would impart too much energy that it would be prohibitively dangerous to use at a field (We could argue that it should only be fired at vehicles and structures, but lets be honest, we all know some smoothbrains we've played with who would ignore that). I also feel like a dummy nosecap on the dummy shell should really have just had a hole you can easily cover with a thin membrane like perforated card would have looked a lot better, but what do I know?
I think this with the titan shells and saboballs can work really welle where I live. What you can actually shoot out of a grenade launcher is quite limited
dont remember off the top of my head i think it uses zipties like this too and the weight is not very off and had a nifty red dot instead of iron sights
This is sad to see, had high hopes for this one. Sure, a metal one would have been more expensive, but it would still cater to the group of players that would buy this.
i imagine VFC made this as a recreational training piece for taiwanese citizenry, given current events dang that was anti climatic. i was expecting a deafing thud and a cloud of gas
This is a tragically missed opportunity to make an 84mm airsoft shotgun, Still mostly useless? probably, Would it take most of a coleman tank in one go? yes. But that one time in that one circumstance with enough people bunched together it would be comedy gold
Did someone solve that "issue" with the carl gustav not firing usual 40mm grenades by a new firing pin? Could someone please send me some 3D printing files? 😭
Why do americans in particular struggle so hard with foreign words? I must have seen it dozens (or hundreds?) of times by now, the letters are literally all there for you. This isn't some p.c. thing either, if you have no clue just put it into google translate or read it s l o w l y ffs In the case you don't really give a fuck, which I totally respect, be reminded that the entire rest of the world doesn't respect the english language either. idk where this myth comes from. i have a vfc UMP45 that i got third hand, and its only had one issue with a single small screw for the year and a half ive had it
I've used 2 of the M2 and the M3 ("GRG M86" and "GRG M18" respectively). The newer one uses large zipties to hold the cheekrest like the replica.
wow!

Wait so is the thing held in place with zipties or no
@@aforeffort9931 The real one? No. The foam "cheek pad" kind of is, but on the old m48 model i used had steel bands to hold the pad in place.

Thankfull the "hammer" for the shell is a simple design and could easily be remade in a CAD program for 3d printing
the m3 does infact use a ziptie for the cheek rest
Did not expect to see a surplus danish ammo-carrier. How did that find its way to the states?
Why is the APS Thor the only striker fired GL in airsoft?
The facepads are secured wia hoseclamps, big ones. The one I use is the M/48 variant, from 1948.
Pics?
As a Swede I thoroughly enjoyed you trying to pronounce the Swedish words. A for effort, but not even close 😂

Explosive enterprises has a 3d printable mod to make this thig taginn compatible on their thingiverse page
Could you send me the url please?

Bummer. The Thor launcher has a cocking lever. Would be cool if it was build like that.
We love explosive enterprises
Modify it to work with taginns, got it.
I used the M3 in infantry training a couple years back, and yes they are literally zip ties😂
TAGinn and vfc should work together on a more realistic ammo for this.

Yes, the real M3 pad is held on by giant zipties.
would've been nice if they just made the whole thing out of aluminum
its so BIG
has anyone here ever carried the real steel version?
Good video, but man watching this with headphones actually hurts. No offense, but you teeth whistle with ever s sound you make.

Yes the real ones have big ass zip ties on them
