    I'm currently a rising junior at the university of south carolina. I just wanted to put it out there (especially to incoming freshmen) to ALWAYS ask "what's my name" before getting into an uber. A girl at my school (Samantha Josephson) was murdered after getting into a vehicle she thought was her uber and I would hate to see this happen to anyone else :( I know my school will be making people aware of this at orientation but I hope other universities will do the same.

      I once went into a uber with my mom who was on the phone at the time... I am a very attentive teenager so i always look at their phone GPS. I notice that we were going the wrong way and the voice controls were off. I had pretended like i was taking a video for Instagram but i was actually texting my dad to track my location. He did and had began to try and follow the car. We ended up stopping at a draw bridge and my dad knocked on the window and got us out of that possibly dangerous situation.

    The “15 minutes across campus” thing is so, so true! I’m going to the University of Oregon for Music Education and I’m part of the Performing Artists Collective, so I get to live in a dorm building with all of the other music students. Fun, right? Wrong! The music dorm is diagonally across campus from the music school. All the way across campus. The only things farther away from the music school are Autzen Stadium and Matthew Knight Arena. Online, it’ll say something like “it’s only 15 minutes across campus!” Wrong again! I walked from Hamilton (the music dorm) to the music school one day and it took me 30 minutes (and I’m a fast walker). Albeit, this was before I was admitted and before I knew all of the paths around campus. I’m sure there’s a better way to get there. Now, I have nothing against UO, I love it. But let’s be reasonable. The campus is not that small.

    • @MyoWolf
      @MyoWolf 4 года назад +1

      @@meredithwallace4043 Honestly, it's a blast. Especially the ensembles. Typically, you take music theory, aural skills (ear training), piano, a studio class for your instrument, and an ensemble. That's in your first year, at least. I actually really liked music theory and piano, but aural skills was, in my opinion, torture. You may like it, though! You're schedule will be PACKED. Most classes have credits relative to the amount of work required. Like, 12 credits required 40 hours of work a week. Music classes are not like that. A 12 credit schedule will require more like 60 hours of work a week, or more. Plus your practice time. Pianists are required to practice 8 hours a day here. If you can, though, I highly suggest doing marching band. It'll help keep you sane while you juggle ten 1 credit classes. It'll really be worth it. Overall, it's not terrible as long as you have friends and you find things you enjoy. It's a lot of work, but very worth it. Good luck!

    My biggest tip for anyone still in high school is don’t knock community college! If your GPA isn’t good enough to get you to a quality school, you still want to live at home, or you’re unsure what direction you want to take, it’s a great path. It’s less of a financial burden if you decide to change your major, and for me it was a great transition from high school. I had a really average/poor GPA in high school and now I have my Associates degree with Honors and got accepted to my dream university for my major. All my roommates on campus are transfer students like me, and I got to have more options for housing since I’m not required to have a freshman dorm. I definitely don’t think community college gets enough publicity for being an option after high school, but it can provide you with so much while still letting you transfer and get the college experience if that’s what you want.

    Ok, yes an 8am class does suck... but try taking a 7am class, that sucks even more, especially if you live off campus 25 minutes away... I agree no matter what don’t take an 8 or 7am class, you may think you are a morning person, but that is a whole new level. DONT DO IT! (I am college junior as of this year).

    The Changing major thing is something your only going to do if you’re not passionate about anything. I’m a sound engineering major so I work with a lot of the film majors, music industry majors, music majors, and I can say that all the people passionate about their craft DO NOT change majors. As for people going for nursing, or early edu, psychology on the other hand, those seem to be the majors where most people who just sorta threw themselves into college with no passion end up.

    • @MyDriftingDesk
      @MyDriftingDesk  4 года назад

      being dead set on something and having a passion for it, doesn't mean you won't find new passions or new interests while in college and switch things around. All in all, I was just saying that changing your major is NORMAL and not to feel bad about doing so because SO many people do it and everything will work out in the end :)

    • @dachuckbuck669
      @dachuckbuck669 4 года назад

      Marissa Nicole oh yeah totally, I’m not saying that there’s anything wrong with it, I just find that any type of art majors especially seem to be a bit more head strong in what they want to do, atleast compared to things like medical and English majors.

It probably depends on the electric razor too, different brands/prices might give a closer shave.
