- This is one of a series of videos covering the full dismantling, restoration and rebuild of a Norton Commando engine and gearbox. This particular video shows the clutch being dismantled. To begin with the large diaphragm spring was released by applying the requisite special tool and then removing the large circlip that holds it in place. After that the clutch plates were removed with the aid of a magnet, and finally the mainshaft nut on the end of the gearbox mainshaft with the help of a special clutch locking tool.
Looks like the "locking tab" was not used?
Apologies, I did remove the lock tab from the nut before undoing it, but I accidentally edited it out.
