The story is that in the future there are sentient androids that are kept in check by collars around their necks. Wanting freedom, EXO break from their bondage and become fugitives (it's hard to hear the sirens after Sehun and Kai's dance, but that's why they're running). After that, they are hunted and... kill themselves to avoid capture or are shot - you can see each member killing themselves or dying in various ways if you squint hard enough. Android Baekhyun exposes his mechanical heart before it explodes and performs a dance to mimic the throes of death before self-destruction. Baekhyun later posted the mechanical heart prop on his Instagram so everyone could see what it was supposed to look like. I watched this live when I was supposed to be working, and the performance stunned me silent. There was a whole opening video, like what you'd see at an EXO concert, before the performance began that explained the world and story, but that was sadly cut from the video online. Even without all that information about what the story is, there's incredible artistry on display. Even with much of the context stripped away, EXO can always leave people speechless with their power. This performance left a deep impression on me because it was so beautiful. I didn't even notice Chen's ripped pants or the lack of a mechanical heart in Baekhyun's chest because none of that mattered in the moment; I had witnessed powerful art and it has remained with me even this many years after watching it.

They literally came from their concert and attended this award show ,They didn't even have time to do rehearsal (obviously they did but before their concert and concert itself have so many dance routine) Kai & Sehun did rehearsal for their duo while watching other idol's performance by sitting on couch.They were so tired but they deliverd such a iconic performance.
FACT : After EXO r'dium concert in japan... They rushed to catch a flight to Hong Kong... For this award.... They only get to rest for 5 hours on flight.... But they still kill this MAMA awards performance. They didn't even have a time to rehearsal before performing.. Kai and sehun had to practice for their duo while sitting on coach .They just go and make another amazing history. Not to mention tht kyungsoo are sick tht time but his performance and voice is as perfect a always. And DANCER baekhyun.... Everyone died. The tragedy on this show is a little funny, Chen's pants are ripped. He proceeded to take off his jacket and cover his pants and then continued his performance. He is very professional The last dance break is Baekhyun's part. He really surprised many people especially he is a main vocal, not in dancer line but he can show that he is a genius idol.
I’m still amaze at how they slay this performance despite all the technical issues. It’s also important to mention that they performed this in HongKong right after their concert tour in Japan. They have to fly on the same day and arrived late for the red carpet. There are fancams that shows Kai and Sehun even practising their dance break while the award show is on going. There's actually a storyline for the performance. There's a VCR for it. Something about clones or something. That's why they were wearing those glowing chokers earlier. Baek was supposed to have a mechanical/robotic heart that lights up, I think, that's why he opened his shirt. But it did not work because he was so sweaty.

I love every EXO performance, but what I don't like here is they don't show members who are singing, they pan at the wrong member, they also did this to EXO at AAA 2016 but still EXO slayed every performance.
