@@CaptainCFalcon it's a confusing concept, I understand. But basically, you know when you're in the car and it seems like you're always going faster than somebody walking? Sonic always feels that
It's all good Doto, I feel the Developers encourage Exploration since a lot of the story is locked behind it (Main and Side story) and it's what makes this game super fun. Even the Big the Cat Fishing stuff is pretty dope with it's rewards if you want to fast track the story after goofing around for like 3 hours having fun exploring the island.
Doto' didn't think to ask- So I think it's worth mentioning there's actually an *Animation* on the Sonic Channel that details how Knuckles actually got captured in the first place, and those "Ruins" he talks about. (õ∀ó )ゝ It's really well done and definitely worth watching so by all meansー
I really want ti see you finish this playthrough. I've never seen you channel until know but you are one of the most entertaining RUclipsrs I've ever seen, please finish this game if you can!!!
Once I've gotten far enough in Frontiers where I can watch this video, I am most assuredly going to come back and watch it. The Sonic content is always fun.
Hey Doto! Quick tip: if you get hit, use parry (L1 and R1) before you hit the ground and Sonic will enter stance, cancelling his hit stun. You won't lose any rings and you can counterattack with no prob!
I just subscribed for your hype in sonic frontiers, you’re like the homeboy who expresses new experiences through the game. I need more of these. When you do island zone 3, I’ll look forward to the hype as well. I get just as excited as you do. Thanks for this!
Doto consistently getting lock-on markers on the tank fight and not attacking them, while wondering why the enemy is taking so long to beat is the most Doto thing I have seen
On each island there's a fishing spot where u can easily earn tokens to buy things or when the starfall thing shows up u can get free fishing tokens to earn more tokens to buy stuff / trade tokens in for more valuable items(like items to make u stronger and have more defense, keys for emeralds, memory tokens for each character, skill points to unlock new skills, etc...)
I imagine the speedruns for this game will be a matter of how fast can you stack up coins for Big The Cat so that in islands 3 and/or 5 you can buy everything you need. The fact that it's a possibility is so funny to me.
Aye Doto, the map you were playing on at 11:51 is actually from sonic adventure 2! It as sky rail! Green Forest is also in the game too. They just cut the visuals to make it cyberspace-y
Oh just wait until the 4th island. That has the best lore building i’ve seen in recent sonic games, simply because all of it relates not just to the game itself and previous established elements, but it relates to Chaos as well, as the ancients are his ancestors
Personally I'm finding this game great, best one in years. I don't understand some of the negative press. If you love the Sonic series you will love this.
Thinking about it, I really don't recall many of the trailers or the gameplay showcases presenting anything after the first island. I believe there were some leaks, but they kept the potential surprises of the additional islands/zones under wraps nicely. Still unsure how to feel about this game from what I'm seeing; the action looks cool but the platforming is mixed and rather de-emphasised (although well utilised for those boss encounters). Separating things by islands is somewhat appealing but the sheer openness per island still concerns me. It is however thoroughly entertaining watching you play this game. 1:21 - Love your surprise at the wrestling ring rope bounce; that was pretty cool. 6:24 - Again, these boss encounters certainly seem the highlight. They are all quite distinct and the majority perfectly blend Sonic's abilities of high speed and rolling well. 10:53 - Oh my gosh; they actually have an in-lore reason for uncovering more of the land in your map menu. They could just have given Sonic a map each time, would have been simpler, but this way is admittedly funnier. 11:59 - This certainly does look like one of the better Cyberspace stages so far. A bit grind heavy but the Sonic Adventure aspect and pure emphasis on the 3D gameplay is appealing. 22:29 - The perfect end to a level. Sonic dances off that last explosion like it was nothing.
I've played the whole game, so allow me to add my perspective onto your analysis (albeit not a complete one since you haven't played the game for yourself): There's only three things I want to say to your otherwise a good job on the details. The first is the gameplay showcases. They did show off Ares Island (this videos island) and the next island, Chaos Island, in official trailers. The 3rd island was shown in an IGN coverage as the second last pre-launch trailer, in good detail. Just wanted to get that out of the way first. The second thing is the platforming being de-emphasized. I will actually put down an opinion that it was fun. For only a while though because the 3rd island had too many 2D sections and I got tired of doing it. I noticed when I got to the 5th island I just wanted it to be done, so I used my 999 Purple Coins (yeah a lot of not understanding how to get to the 3rd island locations to progress and also had many starry sky nights) to spend it on vault keys and maxing out my character. But anyway, the platforming *segments* were pretty nice. It's like being on a rollercoaster ride, but you use some skill to get through it. In terms of traversing the landscape, it is mixed between the islands. The third point is the Cyberspace stages designs. So some of the best is the copy and paste layouts of previous stages. The worst (for me at least) is the 2D ones because it's usually less impressive than the 3D ones. But altogether Sonic does not control as well as the open zone version, so it does feel awkward whenever they have a slow-paced section and you sluggishly get onto the platform. It is a matter of how much the game forces you to slow down per area as to how bad the area is. If Sonic is awkward (not terrible, but not good either) to control, then Cyberspace can only do so much. In my opinion, I had more fun with the platforming in the open zone areas than Cyberspace, but it is necessary to keep it because it's a breath of fresh air for the game. Hopefully I did not rant too much about this haha.
@@duelmasteryuya1205 As someone who isn't typically a fan of open world games, Sonic Frontiers new direction wasn't appealing to me and so admittedly I haven't gone out of my way to watch trailers and the like. A lot of what I'm seeing is pretty nifty and looks well made for what it is but that open world aspect always makes me pause. From what I've seen of DotoDoya and the few other videos I've seen, the 2D sections certainly seem to be regarded as the weakest aspect. 6:33 imagine fighting a boss in a video game and having so much fun you don't even think or care about the reward untill the game reminds you, you did this for a reason.

The story and scenario were written by sonic team. Iann flynn wrote a good portion of the characterization and dialogue.
