It seems to me like using the pole is going to be the easier method for smaller drops, but if you have to fall all the way down from the top to the bottom, well there's no fall damage in ONI!
Trying to survive in frost without using wood is going to be a task. Better roll for only frost resistant dupes or the lack of heaters is going to be brutal.
@@wolfen210959 Right, but you have to research it and power it; I don't know its wattage but I don't think it's cheap. Also it probably requires refined metal to build? Regardless it's going to be quite some time with cold, slow, unhappy dupes.
@@Khaim.mnah, it's pretty cheap, requires raw metal and 120 wats (with some automation or just cut/connecting wires you can drop energy consumption massively) and tech for it is pretty straightforward, you can get it by 10th cycle without any main researches delay
You can improve this by using placing to the right 2 or 3 firepoles (enough to trick their AI into thinking the pole is faster than just staying on the ladder) so that way only dupes who is to descend can use it.
These seem like they'd be the most useful in a minimum dupe run. If you're never printing a dupe, or even going down to 1, these would be really helpful. Otherwise breaking the job queue seems like too big of a downside to use them most of the time. Fun video.
Ok, you need to make a short and show the community on the klei website. This is awesome. How did I not think to drop dupes but do it to critters constantly.
This is such a cool set of ideas! You should look into the super zoom out mod, itll help with the visuals for the climbing speed comparisons P.s. I loved the Mario reference xD
Good findings all around. You can use sensor and timer to mesure the timings without having to set up the start perfectly. Look at the teleporter at 9:23. You can't close a door at a stucked dupes. And the dupe is still technically on the top tile while the climbing down animation is occuring. The teleporter can be a good if they are allowed to do a supply task (like deliver to a far away machine, and then teleport them back. I think the supply task will "save" this spot as their last place though.
This is very funny ) But this is the exact reason why I don't play this game - it lacks _a lot_ of very basic stuff like elevators and _forces_ you to use dirty stupid tricks like "liquid locks". This game is stupid.
The elevator with the Mario Toad and castle reference is a nice touch. 😂
The way some people find new funky stuff in ONI blows my mind. I'm impressed good Sir!
It still blows my mind seeing aerosols having practical use in the game
The animations and sounds the dupes make when falling is too funny
i really like that auto dupe dropper!
i shall build it for myself. thank you and keep up the good work!

He forgot to mention the "no frost resistant" dupes rules.
The space heater does the same job as the wood heaters, but obviously requires power.

When he said your dupe is in another castle lmao. Liked!
The little Mario shoutout was great

Good old ONI, where greater efficiency is just a war crime away

HOIKtronics, FINALLY 🎉
For those who don't know, we did mad things with it in terraria, 10 years ago.
Good ONIing, well done.

Great job!
bro this video is gonna make you famous xD
this is so creative wow!
I will find this “fall-evator” method to be very interesting if they ever include fall damage in the base game (there was a mod that had it).
I am surprised they do not already take damage from falling.
That's really cool actually
Клею определённо стоит сделать внутрипланетные телепорты, чтобы игроки перестали издеваться над дубликантами😅
nice
Looking for the definition of over engineering.. found it. Over engineered walking in oni; on par for the community, nice job!
What if you block the location dupe was at before the teleportation?
Also needs testing in higher game speeds.
5:25 🤣
Ja pierdole kolejna z rzeczy całkowicie niepotrzebnych wymyślona w grach xDDDD
this game supposed to be fun,, what the heck is this... 😂😂😂😂
