- Manchester four piece The 1975 have had an amazing year, gaining new fans by the minute. Their self titled debut album went straight to no. 1 in the UK album chart earlier this autumn. They've been on tour for about a year but they're not slowing down anytime soon.
We caught up with The 1975's Matty Healy on the bands first ever visit to Stockholm. He told us about the formula of making music, the crazy year the bands been having and in what direction their music is heading. But if you want to know why The 1975 are called The 1975 you'll have to google it!

Brittiska The 1975 har ett fantastiskt år bakom sig. I september gick deras självbetitlade debutalbum rakt in den brittiska försäljningslistans förstaplats. De har vid det här laget varit ute på turné i ungefär ett år och turnén är långt ifrån slut.
Vi passade på att träffa frontmannen Matty Healy när bandet var på sitt allra första Sverigebesök. Han berättade för oss om livet på turné, om formeln bakom en bra låt och i vilken riktning bandet kommer röra sig musikaliskt. Incredible interview. You're actually lucky to have caught him on a bad day. His answers are sincere and actually very informing. You asked some great questions and I think he really appreciated them.
Very intelligent young man. Definitely deserves to be in this place. Glad to see someone worth being in the pop culture nowadays. Keep up the great stuff.
Amazing mind at such a young age. Things said are real, and I'm just happy this world still produces real talent in music and in Matty's mind.
This is by far one of the best interviews I've seen of him in a long time and it was primarily because the interviewer spent ten minutes and actually did some research. Also, she seems like she is a fan as well, but wasn't so overwhelmed she couldn't be professional AND happy to ask him real questions.
I could listen to him talk for hours, for someone who is in his early twenties, matty is so wise
Genuinely good interview, down to earth & thought provoking. The presenter has a nice, intelligent vibe & gets the best out of the artist because of it. Needs to be more of that in the industry.

I was so happy that the interviewer didn't ask him about the meaning of the band name. It's ridiculous how many times I've heard Matty explain it again & again when I go on a watching spree of their interviews. It drives me mad.

Thinking that there is a mathematical techincal reason that any kind of music that makes me laugh or dance or cry even... Kind of makes me feel super stubborn. I want to be super critical of all music. Especially pop. Just make music that comes from inside you. If you do that. People will feel it. Unless of course, you want to make money. Then change the lyrics or the melody so you can make more money by manipulating people with fake crap and get it played 860 tines a day on pop radio. Then let me know how you feel about your music in 20 years. .. Yep thats all I want to say. Oh, and the EP are the best music you have made in my opinion. Probably because you weren't formulating anything. But what do I know. ✌
