Actually Fighter is a class film and not a massy entertain unlike Pathan, Jawan etc. The budget should have been far lesser and that's the problem. HR is a very good actor and needs to choose films wisely but do at least 2 films in a year. His gf choice is a bit cryptic and KRK is right that an actor is a public property i.e. a showman.

Last year Top Gun Maverick also stole many hearts as Tom Cruise amazingly bind the fabric of old top gun with the new age glory. Majority of Indian youth especially from big cities have watched both Top Gun and Maverick a year ago so, they have no interest in these First copies ( Fighter, Tejas ). It is really hard for them to see Hrithik in the place of Tom Cruise as Tom is a huge personality… furthermore people are also tired of pseudo Indo - pak war and blunt nationalism which were sold number of times to them in a form of entertainment.

But why the f do u want to go against SRK? Then SRK thrashed every single star from 1995-2014, and Hrithik was also one of them. But Hrithik respected srk a lot, as he is srk’s fan, so he stopped his fans from doing comparisons, and started selecting very diverse scripts. His Krish, Dhoom 2, War, Bang Bang worked really well. But he never made his fanbase, cuz he kept choosing very diverse scripts To make a fanbase one has to do that genre more in which he is liked. For Hrithik it was always action. Maybe there is a way to crack this subject matter such that it will get more people excited, but neither Tejas nor Fighter managed to find it (the original Top Gun was made by the late and much-missed Tony Scott, one of Hollywood's most flamboyant directors, who slathered the movie in so much style, electrifying music and heroic moments that even today, 40 years later, nothing in this genre has surpassed it). Great point. They could definitely have given it a different treatment, maybe tell the story of someone from a poor background who has a dream of joining the air force, build up the relevance of the air force, and then see all of its nuances from the eyes of this humble-beginnings protaganist. Sidharth Anand treating Air Force as if it is some Fictional Organization 2. No Chemistry between Hrithik Roshan & Deepika 3. No Credible Villain / Antagonist 4. Barring "Vande-Mataram" the Movie Soundtrack was quite disappointing 5. Lot of Top Gun Maverick influence 6. Typical Movie Cliches Over-used 7. The biggest problem with Hrithik and his fans was that they started to compete Hrithik with SRK back in 2000-2010. Hrithik started with a boom. People loved him. But why the f do u want to go against SRK? Then SRK thrashed every single star from 1995-2014, and Hrithik was also one of them.
But Hrithik respected srk a lot, as he is srk’s fan, so he stopped his fans from doing comparisons, and started selecting very diverse scripts.

Maybe there is a way to crack this subject matter such that it will get more people excited, but neither Tejas nor Fighter managed to find it (the original Top Gun was made by the late and much-missed Tony Scott, one of Hollywood's most flamboyant directors, who slathered the movie in so much style, electrifying music and heroic moments that even today, 40 years later, nothing in this genre has surpassed it). Although it is ten years too late for the Hrithik-Deepika team-up, both these stars are most famous for their physical beauty, so their first pairing should have been a more traditional masala film with greater emphasis on romance, comedy and entertainment - not a dour army film with deglamorized looks.
Great point. They could definitely have given it a different treatment, maybe tell the story of someone from a poor background who has a dream of joining the air force, build up the relevance of the air force, and then see all of its nuances from the eyes of this humble-beginnings protaganist. But I think they just wanted to copy Top Gun and didn't think about making a movie that is relatable to the masses

3. India need to make movies without songs. If we as Indian watch Hollywood movies by buying tickets at box office then surely we can watch Bollywood movies without songs. Yeah Animal movie main hype was all its songs even though film was very cringe yet it has romantic angle too. But patriotic movies should not introduce dance unnecessarily love songs except patriotic songs.
4. Educated audience young ppl who have access to ott platforms, who can watch European Korean American cinema they r disappointed from Bollywood and stopped watching Bollywood movies

Pathaan only became a hit because of SRK's comeback, people's vengeance from BJP due to Aryan's Jail stint and the bhagwa bikini controversy. Although the movie was shit still it became hit. Fighter in comparison is a much better film but it has no controversies surrounding it therefore it has underperformed.
It is not an interesting movie. It has the same old story of uri and what not. The public is now bored with this genre.
