and it's a Toyota Camry. Unless you never change the oil and drive them on flats, you can't kill those things. Have to be one of the, if not THE best used cars you can buy. When I lived in another small town, my neighbour pulls up into my driveway one day to show off this car he got for his daughter to drive to college. Wow nice camry. 2005 (12 years old at the time), 35,000 original kms. The tires still had the nubs on them. They had age cracks but no wear to speak of. The car was immaculate except for a little surface rust by the top of the windshield. For better or worse an older couple used it pretty much only to drive into town and get groceries a couple times a week. About 15 kms round trip. They bought a new one ONLY because they got bored with it lol. I know everyone has a story like this but I don't repeat them unless I have first hand knowledge of it and have seen it with my own eyes. He paid $2000 for it. I offered him $3000 on the spot lol He didn't take it.
I don't do fancy cars, I want to sell them, not sit on them. There is more money in builds like this than the fancy cars with much less risk. This one was easy. These are the types of jobs I recommend to people just starting out in rebuilding.
You do an amazing job. My ex bought a Honda that was wrecked In the front and they didn’t even put the hood insulation back on. You don’t miss a beat you go through every detail and make it perfect I really wish I could buy a car from you but I’m in Alabama

This one is a winner all the way , you said you got it cheap, so the money was made already when you bought it ,fixing it is just increasing the profit on this one much larger . 👍
Its a shame, in utah that car would have ended up with a clean title, after the impound. Just found this channel, you do amazing work, Keep it up Thanks
I'm surprised and abandoned car gets a salvage title. Around here it's noted (not branded on the title) as an abandoned vehicle, but title is still clean. Same way as a repo pretty much. Here in SC salvage titles mean nothing. They register the same as clean titles. As we have no inspections. Not even salvage inspections.Just affects the value. Gotta love when the project starts with trashing the car out. It always seems to be a hint that the rest of the car probably wasn't well cared for. Although this is a nice one. You can't beat a Camry. Great video as always brother.
Believe it or not, there were receipts for oil changes and other work. They too care of the car, just acted like slobs when inside it. Lol. All we get in Illinois for a police tow is a Certificate of Purchase. According to our law, it can only be changed to a salvage or junk title. The salvage title must be treated like any other with inspections and paperwork. Then is gets a clear rebuilt branded title. I wish I could get more Toyotas but they always sell for too much at the auction.

Good morning Scott, Toyota Camary. As good as money in the bank. I can't believe they put a sample salvage title on that vehicle. Oh well, stranger things have happened. I do like your slide hammer, what brand is it. I have never seen one like that, with the double handle? Oh well I don't get out much. Thanks for another Friday afternoon video. You take care and have a good weekend.
I bet that slide hammer is old school company out of business. I am in the automotive field and never seen anything like that before. Thats for pulling it out the first time.
I would be happy to sell more Toyotas, they are just hard to find at a good price. IL state law requires that it only gets a Salvage title after it was purchased on a COP. On police tows, that is the only way to get a title. On private tows, it can have a clear title. The slide for the slide hammer is very old, it fits any larger hammer though. I don't remember the brand anymore. Have a good week.

Nice. That poor car had a rough life. Never could understand how people can be that nasty or neglect something they are paying for.....or maybe not paying for.....but the way it is. Will be a nice car.
Yeah, I can understand not washing it all the time but how long does it take to just throw out your garbage instead of throwing it on the floor? People just don't respect their investments. There is still hope for this one. Thanks for watching.
Thank you for the video I think it would be some great content if you did a cheap wrecked muscle car build I think it would be cool just to change it up a little bit for a few video's but I do enjoy allv your videos:-)
I am not the type to keep my car 100% spotless by any stretch of the imagination, but seriously how do people let their car get this dirty?... Imagine what their house looks like.
Just pure laziness. At least it was just garbage. No stains or smells. The worst was the animal hair in the back seat. I think they had a chinchilla running loose in there. lol
I stay away from those because if that's what the inside looks like, and that's where the person actually sits, imagine how much care has been given to the mechanicals. You think that car has gotten its regular oil changes and other maintenance intervals?
@@gtoger Actually, there were all kinds of oil change receipts in the glove box. That seemed to be the only thing they took care of. I agree, I did not expect it though.
Man this is something I wished I had learned to do when I was younger and skinnier. Then every time someone in the family needed a new vehicle I could have bought two and worked about a month of weekends then voila a " new " vehicle. But now I'm to old and to fat.
I love your work. The only question I have is aren't you concerned about the engine. The oil ever changed? Person showed this car no respect. I doubt they changed the oil..
It was actually pretty clean inside (the valve cover anyway). There was a bunch of oil change tickets in the glove box and they were pretty regular. Even some brakes and flushes. I guess they took care of the most important part and just let the rest go.
Are you sure drywall screws are not factory in the splash covers? Splash covers and inner fenders seem to always have them so i just thought it was something that all the factories did.
I guess I am buying a 2002 Toyota something. Saw it in a barn. Told the guy I would give his mother $300 for it. A week later he called and told me his mom said yes. Not even sure if it runs. Body is good. Exhaust hanging. It should be interesting.
Sometimes those can be the best money makers. Quick clean-up and flip cars. Sometimes they are basket cases but with only $300 invested it is pretty easy to get out without losing money. Good luck on the project.
Hi! Was the background of the salvage title known to everybody, or just you? What is your experience regarding the rebuilt title cars? Do they sell a lot cheaper than clean? Do people even care? Thanks.
A salvage title will be a clear rebuilt branded title when rebuilt. Anyone that looks at the title will know it. A history report will show it as well. They typically sell for less but sometimes people don't care. My cars are usually flawless so when people want to beat me up on the price, I welcome them to find a better deal. They usually end up paying asking price after that. Some cars that are rare, people don't care because finding a clear title might be impossible. This is the case with my G8. I also do a lot of low mile cars. People don't care about a title on a $4000 car with low miles because all of the competition has high miles and in much worse condition.
Oh , well cool @ 3.50 , Scott !! lol .....Looks like a right villain ! Hahaaa.... .... Edit: Would it not have been possible to get used body parts in the right colour from the breakers ?? Would have saved on painting costs ?.... ( I'm assuming that there are plenty of these cars in the U.S.).
The problem with Toyotas is they hold value, so the parts can be expensive (relative to the value of the car). Most yards wanted $250 for a hood without damage. Getting one in white would have meant a drive for me and with fuel and time involved, was not worth it. I found this one 20 minutes away for $50. The time and cost to paint it was offset by the price. I had to paint the fender anyway so the hood would have had to be blended as well. I always look for the same color parts first.
Hey, there is nothing wrong with a 2x4. They are a little harder to adjust and once shorted, do not extend easily but the price can't be beat! lol Here is the one I was using: amzn.to/2Urny5R
Hay bud you probably said it already but still will like to no what you paid for it I just bought a 09 for 1,400 I thought I got a great deal bit mines was an le 142,000 with leather interior sold it dirt cheap for 3,400
I didn't say, I never do. Buyers see my videos and it just makes for bad business relations. Sounds like you did pretty well, more than doubled your money! Good job! You made a few bucks and the new owner got a good deal, everyone wins!

Wanted to say Thanks. I've been watching ur videos for couple yrs now. When I work on my vehicles, I would leave a bolt out or sum wires loose and not in harnesses. Or not stick the harness back in the lil pin hole it's strapped into. Cuz I knew I'd be back for one reason or another. And let's not forget taking sumtin else off to get to the deal u needed to fix. Been working on my Aurora. Unfortunately I've had sum cigarettes cuz Jesus Christ these engineer's. But I took things off replaced sensors and coil packs and gaskets like u would. A place for everything, everything in it's place. Dropped screws, ughhhhhhh. Let's not go there. Wut would he do. He would flex his muscles and blindfold himself and still do it right. Lmao. It's taken me a while but it's getting done. Thanks bro. I've taken sum of ur cues. Keep up the good work and videos. Let's see if I finish this today lol 😎👍👍
An Aurora, that was just a Cadillac with a different badge. lol I am not a fan of either. They tend to test my patience. Every time I used to get mad and half ass something I would walk away and come back five minutes later and do it right. I could never let a job leave that wasn't done to the best of my abilities even if I was pissed off and out of patience with it. It used to happen a lot at my old job but it was the place I worked and how they treated me, not the cars. Good luck wrenching. Sometimes you have to walk away for a second and relax or move onto another part of the job and come back to the problem.
vehcor I watched your older time lapse videos and of course they're great. But I don't understand all the dislikes. That's something I'm trying to get over on my own channel. @@WorkingWithWimberley Don't worry about the thumbs down or the negative comments. There are people that will like everything but the color of the car and dislike it. Sometimes they are just people that are jealous of your skills. Sometimes they have bad information and think you are doing something wrong. It could be any number of things. Focus on the positive comments and make videos for yourself and no one else. Your regular viewers will find you and make suggestions that can be helpful. It will be issued a clear, rebuilt branded title just like as is it were totaled by an insurance company. I have another vehicle with a similar story that doesn't even have any damage.
@@vehcor I worked for years here in Texas as a wrecker operator and storage lot operator but never knew what happened to the vehicles after we had to file for the lost titles in an impound situation. We received a bonded type title that the new owners received when sold in public auction. It's unreal how many impounded cars are sent to auction because the owners don't have the money to get their cars out. As a wrecker lot operator there is not much profit in those cars or cars totaled wirh no insurance.

I am not the type to keep my car 100% spotless by any stretch of the imagination, but seriously how do people let their car get this dirty?... Imagine what their house looks like.
I reckon it'd be pretty bad mate.
GTOger I would bet millions that car hasn’t had proper regular maintenance. Well, maybe not millions, but hundreds... Of pennies.
Everyone has paths they didn't take, even me. Thanks for watching.
Make sure the engine has new piston rings for oil consumption issue.
Shhh, don't let the Toyota fans know their cars can be flawed. lol
That's for the 2azfe looks like that has the 2.5 so it should be fine
Damn, you make that look like fun. Great video!
The easy ones are always fun. lol
Looking forward to part 2. Good job !
It will be here soon. Thanks for watching!
@@vehcor that's great.. It's a shame what people do to machinery. I love your work. You are so talented. Thank you for the videos.
Hood struts, not shocks a slip up never noticed that before
Nice work again. Are you gonna show the finished product?
Thanks, of course!
i can assure you, your detailer was not happy about this level of dirty!
He took it better than expected. lol
Looks like a hazmat suit would have been appropriate !
I'm sure there was one in the car full of junk somewhere. lol
Nice build! cheap, easy and fast!
Yep, the little ones are fun. A couple week nights and it is done.
Are you sure drywall screws are not factory in the splash covers? Splash covers and inner fenders seem to always have them so i just thought it was something that all the factories did.
Maybe every assembly plant has a carpenter they let work on the line for a day. lol
"Cleaning supplies not sure why cause they clearly never use it on this car" hahaha😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 I am dieing laughing out here
I guess they were saving them just incase the day came when they felt like using them. lol
I love watching these videos. Oh, I’m one of those body guys! 😂😂😂
Thanks, I don't know what it is about body filler. It is just so boring to me. Lol
@@vehcor Thank you again for the detailed answer. It is much appreciated.
jeez u made tha look easy.... good job
This one was an easy one. Thanks for watching.
@@vehcor .... Yes , of course , it always comes down to the economics. Got to do it the most viable way. :-)
What is that tool you are using to hold the hood up? Looks safer than the 2x4 I've been using.....😂
Hey, there is nothing wrong with a 2x4. They are a little harder to adjust and once shorted, do not extend easily but the price can't be beat! lol Here is the one I was using: amzn.to/2Urny5R
@@vehcor Thanks man!
Thank you
Thanks for watching!
Cool shades man
Hay bud you probably said it already but still will like to no what you paid for it I just bought a 09 for 1,400 I thought I got a great deal bit mines was an le 142,000 with leather interior sold it dirt cheap for 3,400
I didn't say, I never do. Buyers see my videos and it just makes for bad business relations. Sounds like you did pretty well, more than doubled your money! Good job! You made a few bucks and the new owner got a good deal, everyone wins!
@@vehcor thanks but you and I both no sometimes you win and lots more times you lose but that's that part that goes with it, any like I said thanks again and good luck with your adventures.
Back at it again!!!!
I never stop! lol
vehcor I watched your older time lapse videos and of course they're great. But I don't understand all the dislikes. That's something I'm trying to get over on my own channel. No matter how clear, straightforward and detailed you present the information, some people still have an urge to thumbs down. I don't get it. But as usual, keep up the good work!!!
I added the narration and real time videos from suggestions. Not right away, but I am glad I listened. I like the videos better. I watched a couple of your videos and they are good content, keep it up and the viewers will come. BTW, I did give you a thumbs up on them as well! lol
vehcor Thank you lol! I appreciate the support. I thinks it’s cool that you take the time to respond to comments now, because when your channel explodes, you won’t be able to keep up. It’s only a matter of time. Your content is super solid! Thanks again.
@@WorkingWithWimberley The first video of the Mistake gave me a taste of that. 1500 comments in one night. lol I spent the next 2 days replying. I like a smaller channel since this is a hobby more than a job so that I can reply to everyone. I learn from interacting with viewers as much as they learn from me. My goal is to keep up with all the comments until 100k subs which was a goal I set for myself years ago. Keep posting your content, it only takes one video to make your channel blow up and you never know what it will be. Best of luck on your channel!
Fantastic video and great information
Thanks!
Will an inspection get the clear title back on the car since it was just a salvage impound?
Hopefully you found some good CDs
I was expecting at least a fake gun under the seat. I can imagine the smell....I use to dabble in detailing and can confirm your detail guy will cry a little lol
Actually, no smell and no stains. A garbage can full of junk and a vacuum did wonders.
Hey, you made your money back in the purse, baseball bat, and jumper cables ... sounds like a winner :o)
Two purses! I'm set now. lol A Toyota is always a winner!
3:49 CSI theme plays
I'm going to start asking you for advice on editing! lol That would have been funny. Thanks for watching.
Please show assembly on the Chevy 2004 emergency brake
you make it all look effortless brother. im paying close attention to how you do things so i can better myself, thanks for all the explinations and attention to detail. come to buffalo, we got all kind of idiot drivers smashing up beautiful cars that they dont deserve to drive, you could make a killing!! lol
This was an easy one. Cars like this are a good place to start if you are looking to try out some rebuilds. We have lots of bad drivers here as well! lol
Do you think it would be possible to fit a 2018 Camry se front bumper on this car to make it look newer?
Cool video man 👍😎
Thanks
Looks like a getaway car for a couple of purse snatchers....
Could have been. I didn't think of that.
You make it look so easy👍
Ah, this is an easy one! Good place to start for beginners. Thanks for watching.
yOU DO A GREAT JOB.
Thanks!
I like the footage 👍🏽
Thanks!
Easy fix and it'll make someone a real nice daily.
Most definitely!
Love these videos!
Thanks, thanks for watching!
Nice attempts at humor ! Lol. Great video as always thanks
I'll keep attempting, I'll get it eventually. Lol. Thanks for watching!
I've had 2 Corolla's and they were beyond beaten and filled with trash. It's like Toyota's are peoples rolling dumpsters lol Still amazing cars though.
Amazingly horrid. I see you've a Mitsubishi as your photo.. you know they built the Mitsubishi Zero that killed countless Americans right?
It a Toyota thing, I guess I don't understand. Lol
That's very odd that it would have a salvage title after being towed in..
I purchased several cars that were towed in abandoned police seizures
It must be a state specific thing.??
Yes, it is an Illinois law on police tows. It varies by state.
@@vehcor .
In Tenn towed cars do not give a salvage title.
Thanks for your videos.
@@fujimandkimyates3206 Just add that to the list of why my state sucks. lol Thanks for watching!
Another great video. Thanks.

Is the front bumper for the SE trim
Yes
drywall screws means shadetree mechanic
It must have been a carpenter's car. lol
Nice slide hammer is that custom

Some “ people” sure know how to trash a car!
