    Just completed job with your video on my 2015 Veloster, bought the switch with camera from that huge online retailer for $15 after dealership said $620. Thank you very much for the video!

      Oh, I guess it's a different set up when there's a camera involved?

    • @Ragingeek
      @Ragingeek  3 года назад +1

      From the prior post I take it the video helped them with the camera variation. There was an additional post from someone else saying they managed to replace the switch but the camera didn't work though there was no explanation as to why that was. I would think the camera is just an extra connector that needs to be disconnected and reconnected in addition to the switch but I am only speculating. My particular Veloster does not have a rear view camera installed which is why it is not included in the video. If you are not confident you can replace the switch with the camera without specific instructions I would suggest not trying it. You can also see if there are additional videos on RUclips which are specific to Velosters with a rear view camera.

      @@Ragingeek Yeah, I think I'm just going to buy a whole circle piece and replace that...I think that'll just be easier. That way I don't have to worry about the camera not working. Thank you, this video will help (and has already helped!).

      Same! They quoted me $300 just for the latch that cost me $10 on Amazon. Tack on $95/hr for labor and we're at $400 for a half hour of work. HARD PASS! I can do it myself, thanks to you! 💁‍♀️

    Thank you so much! I’ve been just using the stupid latch for nearly 2 years because I’m lazy and don’t know anything about working on cars. I’ve even had the replacement part sitting in my car the whole time too. Finally decided to get it fixed and I followed this video and the instructions were perfect! Thought it’d be way harder. Thanks so much for this video!! So silly it took me this long to get it done but I finally have a working trunk again thanks to you! woohoo!!!!

    Thank you for this, this is the most informative video I've watched. I wasn't sure how to open the hatch cause my button on my key doesn't work for some reason. They wanted over $1,200 at the dealership and I got the switch on Amazon for $16.97.

    Yes sir, thanks so much for the video , just did the one on my wife's veloster. Only thing I did different ma ybe, is the the two bluish , green clips , I could not depress them and pop them out that way,.. I just use a pry tool that was in the kit and popped that back assembly out from the back of the car. Amazon was gonna be slow to get the pry kit but not the switch , so I ordered the switch and the bag of the yellow clips from amazon and picked up the plastic pry set from auto zone. Dorman kit with maybe 6 or 7 pieces for maybe 12 or 14 bucks I think. Again thanks much for your video, it helped tremendously!

    • @Ragingeek
      @Ragingeek  2 года назад

      @@sabeelsyed8389 I can't make any guarantees as I do not have a rear-view camera on my Veloster but if I had to guess, I would say the part number is the same. I am also going to guess you just need to disconnect the camera before you can remove the switch assembly. Again, I do not have a rear-view camera so I am just assuming that is what needs to be done, no guarantees on the advice. Though, I hope this helps. 🙂

    Does anyone know what he means about “pinching” those blue things? I can’t get that part out

    • @Ragingeek
      @Ragingeek  2 года назад

      You need to squeeze the flaps on the blue tabs so it will fit through the hole and allow the latch assembly slide out. This needs to be done after the other black bolts are loosened.
