    My father bought in 1990 a brand new Transit and after 27 years it is still our best partner. Best van ever!

    That must have been a good evening,Transit documentary followed by Red Dwarf. I had a new one in 72,with the 1700 cc V4. It would not cruise on the m way at 70 -80 like the guy said,if you got it to 70,its top speed,it was shaking in a quite frightening manner. I wonder if the haulier still likes them,newer ones rust while you are looking at them.

    I was in England in September, and I saw quite a few Ford Transit vans. Why we never got the Transit in the USA until just this last year is beyond me.

    • @digitalrailroader
      @digitalrailroader 7 лет назад

      because Ford Already had the Econoline/E-Series in the US; and you would be sure that the US Ford Trucks Division would be up in arms because it wasn't designed and built in Detroit.

      I reckon that would make sense. Now that the E-Series is no longer in production, that left room on the US market for something different, the Ford Transit! :)

      Jason Carpp and to be honest, the Transit is a LOT more capable than the old E-Series ever was!

      I hope the Transit *never* goes out of production. I can't imagine the UK *without* the Ford Transit.

    I think a lot of the appeal was it represented in a way rolling real estate, when you had one you had a place to go , that could go.

    i love how the bank robber was called "Bob"by as thats a nickname for the police and Bob was used in fords marketing campaign for "backbone Of Britain" but better known by me as "Bag Of Boll*cks"

    Back in September I bought a ropey Transit Luton from a smug car dealer with a gold watch and he screwed me.
    I sold it last week to another dealer as it was rattling it's head off. He also screwed me.
    So basically I got a double Marsellus Wallacing over this Transit.
    I'm normally quite smart with these sort of things but I just got cool old Transit fever and bought a pig 😂😂
    I'll buy another one. But not a tarted up knacker this time😂😂
    That car dealer with the gold watch is still laughing at me.

    My family , generation after generation, have had all types and models of transit including ex police and ambulance versions and the the old Thames and ford cortina’s , Corsair’s , Granada’s , escorts as well as many others.
