Alright, two things...
1. That is really cool that the guy who works at Dollywood pitched in!
2. And two, that was probably one of the funniest moments when he said the part of the ride themed to Dolly Parton! I almost died laughing! IDK who else got that joke but that was amazing!

I know this was along time ago, but the idea for one of the staff to say that when they approached the ride was actually an idea I had pitched to Taylor. I was with them at that Christmas event back in 2016 and they were shooting scenes for this parody. I knew it was be based around Lightning Rod always being closed so I thought the National Lampoon’s Vacation reference there would fit in perfectly. I gave Taylor the idea, and I am so glad he used it.

Grace Holmes a lot of the people in this were a part of an event we held at Dollywood called "Coaster Christmas in the Smokies." As part of attending, I gave people the option to be in a coaster parody. Most of the people there I had never met before, but they were great fans of the channel and it was fun meeting and talking with everyone!

Best parody ever and so true. When it was initially delayed, I was okay because I was going in June, then May came and I started to worry a little bit. When it got to technical rehearsal I was relieved, and then the storm came which flooded the area around LR, and then I freaked out a little more. Then it actually opened on June 13th, and I was so happy because there was only nine more days until I went. Then RMC had a part recall, and the motor overheated, and RMC had shipping issues with the part, and by the time I left Pigeon Forge on Saturday it was already testing. I was like WHYYYYYYY. But oh well, it'll probably still be my first RMC... in 2018.
Yeah, but at least I didn't have the worst luck. I wasn't one of the many enthusiasts who got a rollback on Lightning Rod.

I was pretty lucky and got to rideLightning Rod 34 times this year, but when I found out on March 16th of 2016 that I wouldn't be open on passholder day I cried. This is easily the best parody yet. I am looking forward to the rest of the parodies this year and hoping that you get to ride it in May.

when i was young my parents took me to dolly wood and i didnt know much about it and i had fun on the rides and it started raining but then the rain stopped as we walked over to lighting rod (me knowing nothing about it) and got on with no line it was so good

ZeroG Coasters According to Dollywood's PR guy, the biggest issue with the ride last season was the consistency of systems operation (computer, plc, sensor, etc). RMC is gonna come back in to rewire the trains and they feel this should help with the problems. There's a video about that here on youtube from the No Coaster Con ace event.
I don't think the issues are related to the launch system as several employees (including a maintenance guy) have all stated the launch working great lately. The rollback issues that occurred back in December were likely due to a fault triggered by a sensor, preventing the train from launching up the hill. I could be wrong though. I just hope the coaster runs a lot more consistently next season!
He talks about the coaster towards the end of the video after mentioning the stuff for 2017.
There's 5 air hills that go down. That "1st" one is followed by a higher airtime hill :p

This is so accurate omg. I first went last April and couldn't ride it. Fortunately we went back in July and I got to ride it 3 times. Also, I still found it to be smooth in the back. Anyways, great parody of my favorite ride!

I remember park staff saying they might possibly get canopies on top of the park's other coasters if the one on Lightning Rod successfully kept the bees off the hill. I guess the ride hasn't run enough for them to be able to tell whether it is working yet or not since we still don't have them.

I love that you trolled Dollywood heavily in this video. Also, watch Whistle Punk Chaser open in March or April with its "summer 2017" projected opening date. A little surprised there was no "should've gotten a B&M" segment.
Speaking of past prototypes, Top Thrill Dragster was only open for about half of its first season (although it did open on Opening Day and I did get to ride it that year). Also, Lightning Rod was open more of its first season than any of Six Flags' Deja Vu clones (none of them opened until late August in 2001!)
