I had the pleasure and honor of working for mr Diaz and golden boy promotions. Thank you for service to the boxing community but also thank you for asking your guest the right questions. Can’t wait for part two!
Robert Diaz is one of the most nicest gentlemen I have ever met. He was my guest at an LAPD Boxing show and he spoke to all the cop fighters there and it was a pleasure ….
I’ve always thought Diaz was different by just the way he carries himself when Oscar would be too loud or just weird this guy always kept his cool. Now I know why. He’s been through it all
I met this dude at fantasy springs in Indio California to watch the Marecio Herrera fight, waved him over took a pic with him, when the doors opened he waved us over and set his front row seats, fast forward fights over they rented out the bar area and party the rest of the evening with a few boxers n himself very down too Earth dude....
An old friend of mine Tony Rivera once told me a story about Roberto.Tony worked with Duran.Cuevas.Barrera just to name a few.Tony said he invited Roberto to Big Bear I believe for a Barrera camp. This was before Roberto was with Golden Boy.Tony said that Roberto made a Caldo you know a soup for Marcos Barrera one day at camp.Marxcos loved it and was welcomed.I wanted to ask Roberto this but never had a chance.I knew Barrera personally for many years and also used to talk to Roberto on a few occasions. We traded boxing posters a few times.
If you would do your job right as a match maker, we still have a carne asada and big party, but you guys don’t put the best vs the best like back in the days carnal, fighters tell you what to do now, example put on canelo vs Benavides, do your job vato!!! So we can have a big party/ carne 🥩 asada

P. S. I’ve been a boxing fan since the 1970’s.
Respect. Been a fan since the 80’s
Respect, been a fan since 83!
That last point that Robert made about 18-2 being better for a prospect than 20-0 was very insightful. Looking forward to part 2 🥊 🥊 🥊
Robert is a class act . Tremendous at his job but tremendous person as well 🙏🏻.

this guy is for real the one who would write an amazing netflix script about boxing where boxing is just 1/3 of boxing culture.
