- Tariku Gankisi, an Ethiopian singer of Ari origin, goes back to his hometown of Jinka to sing at a festival celebrating ‘Dishta Gina’, the new year festivities. Tariku’s single of the same name was a huge hit when it was first released. However, during the height of the civil war in Ethiopia, Tariku was invited to perform at a concert in Addis Ababa to rally Ethiopian forces. He got up on the stage and preached peace instead. The documentary explores the backlash that followed and how things stand after a peace deal was struck a few months ago as Tariku prepares to go on the stage again.

We all need salvation. I was also among those who were mad at him at the time. I was wrong, we were wrong. War made us to become irrational. Thank God, at least the horrors of the war are now halted. But, stil there are armed fightings going on. May high power deliver us from this vicious cycle. As Tariku said, we need more elders, we need more Dishta Gina's.
