- Hello there folks!! In this episode we will try to rescue a 1989 Saab 900 Turbo from its grave. It was left to rot over 10 years ago. Let's see if it will run and go back on the road!!
Seing that SAAB with Norwegian License plates and information catalogues made me curious about it's history. I looked ut the plates number on the Norwegian State Highways Authority. And I got some information. The car has had 5 owners (2 of them being companies). The last was a now-bankrupt commercial company back in 2015. It was last approved as road worthy in 2013. It lived mostly in Vestfold County (Southern Norway). Which is interesting being that in Larvik, Vestfold lies Norways oldest SAAB dealer and Workshop (Still active). Perhaps when I was younger I could have been playing in the streets while that very SAAB drove on the roads near me. I drive a 2002 9-3 Convertible. And often visit junkyard in Larvik and Sandefjord. I have seen an exact model in the junkyard in Larvik, near the SAAB workshop. Same colour, interior and alike!
Hooooly crap duuude!! I was living for that moment😁 It’s insane if it’s the same car!! Thank You sooo very much for that comment!!
Great show. You have original presentation skill. Inspiring technical attitude. Entertaining and inventive. You deserve a good audience. When I want to see to the end on a casual view you win. Great
I kept on waiting for you to check the oil! That little dipstick you checked was the transmission fluid. The oil dipstick is integrated into the oil cap.
Oh noooo!! That’s a bummer😂 but I will remember that for sure in the future
I love watching videos that ressurect SAABS!! amazing...after 10 years of sleep...it woke up and started and ran fine!!
I could not stop laughing at all the issues you had to face to get it started. However, I liked you patience and tackling one issue at a time. Bravo! I love the car. I assume you may have a defective relay for the fuel injectors or fuel pump which is under the panel, but not sure if it on the passenger side. I love the sound too!
Very impressive bit of work!
Thank You bro!!😁
Man this looks so much like my 900 inside, same colors, same wheel. Hope this car is given a new life
But Yours probably looks a lot better😎 I’m trying my best to do something about giving this car a new life😁
Awesome SAAB 900 Turbo!)))
I think the same!😁
I love my old Saabs. My first Saab was a 1989 900 turbo 5 speed. Your car is the same except it's an automatic. Thanks for keeping it alive. Hope to see more of this one.
Oh man, I wonder how it was driving with the stick. I’m guessing that probably a lot better than automatic😎 I’ll do my best to own it and work on it!!
@@FarFromPerfectGarage
They drive like a dream. I currently have a 1991 900, 5 speed turbo. It's a blast to drive.
I have a 1989 Saab 900 turbo convertible as my project car and I absolutely love it. If anyone has any suggestions or advice please don’t hold back 😂
What is the state of Your Sabb my man?😁
I just picked up an 89 ragtop n I love it! My fourth Saab, but this one’s the coolest by far! So far so good! Minus living in Florida, and the AC not working………… what kind of work does your car need? And I was wondering how much you picked it up for?
alot of the ecus on saab turbos where modified with resistors on the right side of the sircuit board, the ecu sits in the left wheel well
when the resistors are added the base boost pressure goes up so its worth cheking if it has the mod
CongratulationSaab! Thank U 4 did it runn again... I like so much this Brand cars, Best regards!
Early VW golfs and C900, Good choices, real nice🤠
Thank You bro!! I just love those cars and I’m glad that I’m not alone😁
Gotta ask (and in disclosure I have a ‘92 900), how is it that the dash and instruments have no dust if parked in the grass for 12 years…. Still, better to see a Saab come back to live than not.
No idea my man!! But You can clearly see that it sat there for a super long time. Once I left my car on the grass for 5+ years and it didn’t sank into the ground like that Sabb😁
It’s a Saab it will run and drive bullet proof. I have a 2002 93 turbo convertible great cars although mine isn’t my daily
That one deserves a new life :)
I know, right?😁
SAAB FTW.
That dipstick wasn't engine oil but transmission fluid. I do not know where the oil dipstick is.
Looking forward to more video about the 900.
Subbed 👍👍👍
I know that now😂 I also know that the dipstick is built in the engine oil cap😎 Thank You bro!!
@@FarFromPerfectGarage I saw someone commented about the Oil Dipstick location, well before my comment. Thanks for the info. Keep up the great work
Norwegian license plate. 160 Hp, automatic transmission, 1989, according to the Norwegian vehicle authorities. The bottle on the floor says brake fluid . . . extra bonus.
Awesome Saab
I Think the same bro😁
Great watching
Thank You!! I’m glad that You liked it😁
That was fun to watch too that’s awesome bro
Thank You bro!! Trying my best😁
taking the idea front spoiler to the max :P sounds like it's running all right
Exactly that😂 I was thinking the same thing when I first started that engine!
This Saab is super cool and you have to take it back to the road again ✌️ The engine sounds healthy and it is 2.0 turbo charged. How hard is it to get a valid license plate for this boy in Poland by the way? In Hungary it would be an impossible mission (of course there is a workaround 😁). Have fun bro ✌️
I will try my best to do more stuff to it in the future. But first I would have to buy it😂 there is a rule in Poland that says that You have only 30 days to register cars after bringing them from other country. Otherwise You pay moooooney😂 If there are original papers with the cars it’s not that hard to register them. As You wrote there is a workaround😎 Thank You bro😁
The dipstick you found is for the automatic transmission. The motor oil dipstick is connected to the cap that says Motor Oil.
Best car I ever had
Damn, now I want it even more!😂
Its actually a full pressure turbo version so will be 175bhp if healthy.
Oh man, now I want it more!!😂
Put on the ramp and check where the axels go in to the frame
That part us always rotting away on the 900
Dip stick for the oil is underneath the filler cap 😂
And gearbox in together whit the engine and underneath it
Its not behind it
Clutch is in the front off it and drives the gearbox whit a chain 😂😂.
Try to get the papers off that car
And bring it back to life
lovely old gal
Great video!
Thank You!!😁
the saab drove out of his grave!
Exactly my man!!😁
I checked the plates on the car and it was last in for inspection in 2015 and was not approved. It is also registered to a company that no longer exists.Thats probably why it was taken to Poland. 😅 A lot of nice parts on it though.
Dareczek, co Kot to nie mam pytań 😁✌️
Dzięki Wojtas!! Staram sie jak mogę😁
I hope you save that beautiful car, im a saab freak i would die for that car hahaha
Thank You my man!! That was my first time dealing with any of saab cars😁 and yes, it’s beautiful!! I’m still trying to make it mine. I really hope that one day I will rebuild it😎
@@FarFromPerfectGarage yeah i hope too bro, you can give it the life it deserves!! Good luck
hope you will fix that car. Just sad to see a SAAB abandoned.
Me too my friend!! But that car is still not mine☹️ I’m fighting for it😎
That can that was laying on the floor is brake fluid in norway we say bremse væske
I was thinking about that but I forgot to check if I’m right😁
Restore it!!! The oil dip stick is attached to the cap that says "oil."
I will try my best to do that😁 back then I didn’t know about that dip stick thing but it was mentioned a loooot in the comments😂
O wow 👌
I know, right?😁
Why is this car still registredred in Norway? lol
Stolen? This is the name of the owner: FREDRIKSBORG HANDEL AS 🤷♂️
@pontiac0 😂😂 it’s not stolen fredriksborg handel as is the name of the company that sels cars, motorcycles etc. It’s still registered in Norway probably because it wasn’t registered in my country
Thats not how registrations works in Norway and export of cars out of Norway😂 only if it was transported in the back of a trailer😂
Those are norwegian plates.
I knew it!!😁
hello friend
Hello there!!😁
@@FarFromPerfectGarage got to love an old 900s, thanks
Worst plugs ever for these cars. SMH.
Junk that
Never!!!😁
your intro gave me a seizure, please change it
