It's like something out of my dreams. Only that the staircase would continue upward to the right, going up much higher and then back through a wall and then turn into a smaller staircase. Behind the wall you see, and within the floors much higher above, are multiple guest rooms (each of them unique) and offices and some rooms that don't have a particular use. Some employees attend a desk way out of the way in a hard to find room, doing nothing you can quite discern (they don’t mind if they don’t grasp why they’re there because they’re being paid and they love the place.) There are many hidden rooms and hidden stairways going off into hidden sections of castle, some taking you to a gothic tower, others around twisting hallways that just end. Strange, creepy noises everywhere. Ghosts. Different kinds of entities haunt different rooms and floors about the castle, some with interesting stories of their own. No one can find their way through the whole castle lol. Some common guests or employees have become familiar with a section of it.

Are you talking about the fire popping? Sometimes there’s sap in logs still and as it heats up it pops. A lovely sound for sure
