Those curves are absolutely gorgeous, I saw how particular you were in curving and spacing, but I had no idea how much better they would look with some shaving, rounding, and in their finished depth of colour. I can't imagine getting a piece like this commissioned. Way out of my budget, but I hope one day I can have a piece in my home with the same heart put into it.

I've been on a woodwoorking youtube binge for the last few months. Fell in that hole by accident and couldn't get out, spiralling down that wormhole of cabinets, guitars, butcher blocks, furniture, toys, etc... I've seen the best what youtube had to offer. That is the coolest build I've ever seen. I know there was a lot of frustration over the first two iterations not coming out as you liked, but that end video showing the completed bed with three different variations was so visually satisfying. Absolutely Incredible.
That bed is beautiful. Love your content and your no BS approach in explaining your thought process. Your honesty shines through like a light house in a sea of fake. You are an artist in furniture making.
Beautiful curves, organic looking... I'm so glad you decided to not continue the parallel spacing between the head boards through the middle cutout but see it as a single oval void to fill in and play with!
Frankly, I LOVED all three headboard designs - especially how they looked in the lighting as you showed them off. The stipple pattern looked incredible with the finish on, the charred wood looked like it would fit perfect in a New York Penthouse apartment, but the curved piece you ended up choosing just looks like a priceless piece of art. I can understand why you weren't happy, until you reached that point, since the piece was for you. I think a paying client would have been happy with any of the three headboard options.
Agreed, the curved piece definitely looks like an art piece. My favorite was the charred black, I don't think it was too much at all, specially after the wood was oiled.
I can’t say how much I loved this video!! My brother passed away a year ago. Seeing the work you do brought back so many memories of the way my brother worked with wood. Your bed frame is beyond beautiful! The words you used to describe your work and passion were perfect. Thank you for making that beautiful bed frame.
Honestly, I liked all three headboard options. The curved one is the most impressive, however I think the charred wood was my favorite because once the finish was applied the contrast was no longer overwhelming like it initially was during test fitting.

I love the way you go through your thought process, embrace mistakes and educate at the same time. Your experience shows and it was a pleasure watching you create this masterpiece.
Not only are your joinery skills outstanding, the effort and skill set to edit this in such away is pretty damn awesome too. Love the cinematography . First video of yours ive seen. Time for a binge .
It doesn't matter your art form, but I love how the Wabi-Sabi philosophy can permeate into all areas of life and craftsmanship. I loved all respectively. They have their place in style and concept, but that bent wood scrollwork!!! MAN!!!! (chef's kiss) Straight outta the park!
This video is an amazing lesson in how mistakes aren't always a bad thing. They help us learn, grow and improve things in the future. That's what that experience with your client helped you do: Create a safer and better way to run your business to avoid this situation in the future. But what's even more amazing about mistakes is that they force you to think outside the box. They help you come up with ideas you wouldn't have come up with otherwise. That's how you went from a solid and beautiful bed design to the most breathtaking piece of furniture I have ever laid my eyes on.
Your hard work has really payed off, the end result is amazing! I love the curved pieces, they have such a clean flow to them its like theyre defying the laws of physics.
The photography at the end of each of your videos is absolutely stunning! Your wood creations are masterpieces but so is your video editing and staging!
What you do with wood amazes me every time. I'm not a carpenter. but I love woodworking. people see useful Master things from you! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us!
That is some brilliant work with the strips. Gorgeous look, very finely detailed, the stain really brings out the walnut as well, and it all flows together really well. Sometimes, frankly, I am envious of people who have this kind of drive for perfection. The ability to not ignore that feeling of "this isn't quite right" is what made this bed just as much as your skill and patience. Absolutely stunning finished product.
I liked all 3 of the end designs, but I LOVED the black charred wood finish. By far my favorite, especially after the rest of the wood was stained darker. Really funny to me that you hated it so much since that would have easily been the one I went with. Keep up the great content man!
Agreed. Once the walnut was finished I felt the charred wood fit really well. The steam bent pieces are stunning, though my only worry would be damaging them in use (e.g. putting an elbow through when leaning on the headboard). The overall bed shape is great; really elegant.
The one thing I don't like about this video is the whole "the customer screwed me over" attitude. If you put a lot of time into your design _before_ showing it to the customer and talking about the price, it's not really the customer's fault, as you pointed out during the video. By all means, get paid for the design process, that's absolutely sensible, but it's just not the customer's fault you didn't do that back then. Sure, he could have told you "no, way too expensive for me", but from what you've told us in this video, that's pretty much all he did wrong. That's a far cry from "totally screwed me over", sorry. That said: The final result is pretty awesome. I think the burned wood looks pretty good, too, but would probably work better if it popped up somewhere else on the bed as well, perhaps the foot board or the legs? My favorite is the second, "structured" design, though. The bent strips are interesting and look awesome, but too intense for the bedroom for my taste.
The tannins in the Walnut (Oak has more) will react with 0000 steel wool/vinegar mix to ebonize the wood. Could be an alternate method to the charring technique. The piece came out amazing, as usual.
It’s such a beautiful bed. I like every version you showed. You were definitely right to make the more complicated version because it’s absolutely fantastic.
Bro. I'm not a wood worker but I love sculpting and on a small scale I've used soap stone, salt-blocks...and wood. This vid came up in my feed, and I'm glad it did. That bed is drop-dead, one-of-a-kind, gorgeous. Your eventual success and victory is made sweeter by your perseverance to remain true to your heart despite each set back. Marcus Aurelius said: "The impediment to action advances action. What stands in the way becomes the way." In truth it's the journey and the struggle that creates value and worth. Well done, mate. Well done!
Thanks for great content from a software engineer, wanna be part time wood worker. You approach, designing first, is exactly how I approach software design and it's helped me learn a heap of new things. I've met resistance to this approach from team members, but it's all turned out very well every single time. Glad to hear that works well in your profession as well. Cheers mate!
Your thinking is at such next level! And your builds are true art. When I hear your thought process and see your creations from start to finish I feel even more intimidated about my woodworking abilities. I know this is something I have to and must get over if I ever want to achieve something so beautiful. Love what you do brother.
The finish was extraordinary and how do you not had those failures you never would’ve gotten there the final bed was absolutely beautiful. If I came across that in a furniture store that’s the bed I’d want absolutely beautiful.
STUNNING absolutely love it woodwork meets art. I have subscribed to see more. I am now 63 years of age, as a young man I began an apprenticeship with a cabinet maker, I always loved working with wood but this was short lived as my real passion was photography. An opportunity arose in that field and I switched. Now, following a 35 year career as a commercial photographer I am retired from it and have set up my little workshop and am back to woodwork and wood turning. I am inspired by what I see here, thank you for sharing your skill and vision!
I won't lie, I watched this to remind myself that this attitude is SO important whether you're just starting out or someone that's an experienced wood worker. Great video and thanks for uploading this!
Spectacular! I am currently learning paper quilling which I find tedious but satisfying when a project comes out as intended. You have mastered wood quilling with mind blowing results!
The wood bending really makes this project. This is unique and the idea of twists, almost spirals, is actually very conducive for sleep. Love your attention to detail and eye for design.
I can’t believe how amazing that turned out. I agree the other ideas lacked impact. Your skills are obviously top tier, but it’s your open and honest pursuit of perfection and challenge that inspires me. And the fact you make sure to point out it’s the craftsman not the tools. ❤🇺🇸
I worked as a supplier to lots of kitchen designers over the years and they all faced the same battle, invest huge amounts of their time in designs and not get paid for it. The good news is that the industry changed and they are doing what you are. The bed is is again a beautiful piece of craftsmanship. Congrats
I do have to say that you are a genius, that client that you never heard back from lost out from an incredible piece of art. However wants this bed will never regret buying it. Keep on inventing. Thanks
Your shop is a dream! This design is INSANE! LOVE the curves on the headboard. So "simple". Love walnut and the pearls of wisdoms if you will lol. Def. took a few tries to learn the same lesson which originally left me quite drained and disheartened. But like you said, they're important lessons to learn. Thanks for making this video!
Why did I not find you until now!? Incredible work, and I appreciate the willingness to talk about mistakes and the feeling of defeat when something doesn't go your way. I've had plenty of those, and like you said, sometimes a day away to lick your wounds and give it some more thought is all you need. I can't wait to check out more of your stuff. Thanks!
Absolutely stunning And I love that you took such a devastating problem and turn it into a revolutionary moment for your business. As an artist myself, I've had the exact issue at hand. Even currently. Always value yourself, you are worth more than people treat you.
So stunning!! I agreed the burned inset wasn't right. I loved the textured one and would have been completely happy with it until I saw the finished product. Just wow! I was blown away!! Love it!!
This is very nice work. The final piece and the way you showcased it at the end of the video as 3 different options was very well done. I can say though I was left wondering and wanting to see more. A 4th option combining the 1st and second, charred dimples. And as I write this another comes to mind. The bent wood, backed by another piece that has been charred and dimpled, as a layered effect giving it depth. I hope all that makes sense and in no way takes away from your work or comes off as "you should have" but as possible inspiration for future projects.
This piece blew my mind. I just started out doing some simple woodworking projects and it's really inspiring to see what is possible to make! Specially when bending the wood using steam! 🤯
It's absolutely stunning! I liked the previous 2 headboard designs but this last one takes the cake! So much hard work and such a beautiful finished item. Well done!
I was with you through that whole journey and how each design was an improvement on the last. Loved the burning technique but it definitely wasn't the right look, at all. The second one was the safe look, but there was no real visual interest and it too did seem out of place. The last is absolutely stunning, fits beautifully into the whole design and makes it the central focus but without standing out in the way the first one did. I was floored by the look of it at the end, especially when compared and contrasted with the two other designs. Bravo on the editing, as well, that highlighted it perfectly.
All of the headboard options worked for me but the final result was absolutely stunning. One of the most beautiful pieces of furniture I've seen. Apart from that, the quality of the videography and editing is superb. You have yet another subscriber.
The first two headboard designs looked good but had something reminiscent of lips or a mouth. The final design is absolutely out of this world! Speechless.
All of the designs were absolutely gorgeous. The last one tho.... It was insane. Your channel is great, just discovered it. Gonna binge watch all your vids now.
WOW Mr Pedulla! You are amazing! Thank you for the high octane inspirational shot, I feel so eager to get back to my own pieces. Too much client work lately, which has paid well, but it is less cool than this, not forgetting that you do go through frustrations throughout! Thank you for this wonderful cinematic experience! I am blown away!
This video was literally the exact thing I needed to see right now! Going through a situation where I essentially got scammed on a design and literally have wanted to quit everything! I’m usually relentlessly optimistic until this last situation. But this helped me see a better perspective so thank you 🙏
Thank goodness for those inconvient times, that transform our thinking, and turns into this, loved all three, but the curved wood & walnut is stunning!!
I cannot began to tell you how beautifully organic the head board is. The entire bed is just amazing. I dont have words to say how wonderful it really is. Amazing!
I don't even know how to tell you how awesome that piece is. The bent wood, in those shapes ... mind boggling ... that's a good thing on this side of the equator. Hats off and all kinds of other stuff, simply amazing!!!

Wow, it’s beautiful! I personally really liked the black charred headboard but the finished bed is absolutely gorgeous! Great work.
Hey thats totally fine. Thats the great thing about design, it all comes down to your own taste. Thanks for the comment!
Agreed. He’s falling into the trap of “content realtors” being overly dramatic for views and sympathy attention. Unsubbed
The tannins in the Walnut (Oak has more) will react with 0000 steel wool/vinegar mix to ebonize the wood. Could be an alternate method to the charring technique. The piece came out amazing, as usual.
Thats a way to make the wood dark, but the fire gives a totally different texture.
Well done!
Como sempre um trabalho impecável, você sempre nos brinda com a sua arte é bom gosto. Parabéns!
i did the same once but instead of setting it on fire i wet it
😅😂😂🤣 oh shit that made me laugh and took me back to my childhood
Outstanding work! Frankly, I liked all three versions, one more than the next.
Burnt, dimpled and curved.
Great job! You are very talented.
GENIUS! You've redefined the word 'craftsman'...The Missus and I are addicted to your videos...one better than the next!
I don't see how you got screwed over if you never even built it. What am I missing here??
He had to order all the the special high coating wood and then client canceled project. Probably wasted 10k
"Woodworkers naughty corner". I enjoy your rhetoric and honesty and sharing your mistakes!
Spectacular! I am currently learning paper quilling which I find tedious but satisfying when a project comes out as intended. You have mastered wood quilling with mind blowing results!
This is just stunning! It's like coiling, but extreme! Story about the client, never let a bad experience ruin the amazingly work you are doing!❤❤❤
The wood bending really makes this project. This is unique and the idea of twists, almost spirals, is actually very conducive for sleep. Love your attention to detail and eye for design.
I can’t believe how amazing that turned out. I agree the other ideas lacked impact. Your skills are obviously top
tier, but it’s your open and honest pursuit of perfection and challenge that inspires me.
Congrats
Beyond magical, the craftsmanship, the video, the experience altogether was so immersive and pulled us in from the very start. Great work!
Working on the wood and working on yourself and your personal philosophy in the same process. This was very inspiring to watch.
Thanks!
Absolutely stunning
And I love that you took such a devastating problem and turn it into a revolutionary moment for your business. As an artist myself, I've had the exact issue at hand. Even currently.
Always value yourself, you are worth more than people treat you.
WOW! This has been an Experience (yes, capitalized) for me! I suddenly realized I was crying! I think I'm in love! BRAVOOOOO!!!!
What a beautiful piece of work. Watching this gave me shivers. Thanks for doing the extraround - it inspired me!!
Greetings from Bern, Switzerland
This piece blew my mind. I just started out doing some simple woodworking projects and it's really inspiring to see what is possible to make! Specially when bending the wood using steam! 🤯
It's absolutely stunning! I liked the previous 2 headboard designs but this last one takes the cake! So much hard work and such a beautiful finished item. Well done!
Absolutely love it, all three head board designs make the bed a different one all together
All I can say... Beautiful. Love your attention to detail. Wow!
Thanks!
Thank so much!
But this helped me see a better perspective so thank you 🙏
Thank you for being you and doing such perfect job at your Woodwork/Videos/Voiceovers ! Perfection! KEEP LISTENING TO THAT SUBTLE VOICE OF YOURS !
Thank goodness for those inconvient times, that transform our thinking, and turns into this, loved all three, but the curved wood & walnut is stunning!!
Never in my life have I watched a furniture making video, but I absolutely loved this video and I don’t know why
I’m an artist and also a perfectionist, like you.
This is the most beautiful bed I’ve ever seen. You are a master.
I cannot began to tell you how beautifully organic the head board is. The entire bed is just amazing. I dont have words to say how wonderful it really is. Amazing!
That final design knocked the piece right out of the park. It is absolutely stunning. Just beautiful. A real work of art. Bravo. 👏👏👏👏👏
I don't even know how to tell you how awesome that piece is. The bent wood, in those shapes ... mind boggling ... that's a good thing on this side of the equator. Hats off and all kinds of other stuff, simply amazing!!!
WOW!!! The Final Headboard middle is one of the most Mesmerizing Headboards I've Ever seen!
