hi guys, Australia here, simply loved this. it works brilliantly first time. thinking of doing the same thing for a 6 meter (20ft) wide slab in my garage. Question, do you let the motor do the vibrating by itself or do you use offset flywheel. I am thinking of using my stump hole digger as the vibrator and using it to pull the unit forward as it has a slow reduction gear box
Hi Australia 🙂 hope your doing well over there. The vibration from the motor did it. We had used a crank pulley on each side of the big barn door to pull the screed slowly across the top of the wet concrete. It worked out great. We ended up putting a 10 ton truck hoist in the concrete about 8 weeks later for a mechanic shop and it's still on great shape today. Good luck with your project, take care mate
I'd bet it's floating on the mud enough to not make that a big deal. Still good enough for a concrete floor you saved 6 grand on doing it yourself. Lol
There are crank pulleys on the wall at each side of the big barn door. Cranked the pulley to pull the screed across the top of the wet concrete 😉 worked like a charm and this was our very first diy concrete job ever. Good luck!
This method will work! But the concrete needs to be wetter than a typical concrete pour for the screed to work properly and don't overload the front of the screed or the back will lift. I built mine with 2x6 and added more stiffening to the frame and more weight. I used two eye bolts to gently pull it with a rope attached to my kubota.
We are having a problem with our whiteman power screed not propelling itself as it's supposed to do. It runs, it vibrates, but it will not propel itself. It has something to do with the worm not functioning properly. Anybody know anything about this?
He was not pouring cement he was pouring concrete cement is what makes concrete this person comments shows lack of knowledge a person that doses this as a occupation or has knowledge if he was doing it right would not make that comment. Nice job great idea
Also like the idea of using timber as a screed and have an idea on using a wire truss to keep the timber straight over such a distance.
Good job guys, that’s a point for the DIY community.
well done guys ,great job, just made one for flooring my shed ,cheers from ireland
Thank you and enjoy your new Shed! God Bless!

I love it , Is it easy to move forward ?
Great idea & worked well 👍
Close-up of engine output, just a motor, with a pulley, with a weight???
I think it is a great idea, but I'm adding handles!! LOL
Pretty slick. Does the engine just sit on the screws frame and vibrate? Or is there a linkage system that spreads the vibration throughout the frame?
GreAt idea! it must sag in the middle from the weight of the motor though?

Very good DIY Concrtete screed...:)
Well done guys that's bad ASS!
Thank you very much!
Cool at first glance it was hard to see the cable or rope pulling it I thought it was magic or being moved by the one guy on the far end
Quick question where can i get that motor?
nice work!
Thk u sir for sharing the know ledge
Excellent
You save a 2000$ machine money !
Nice work more than 1 way to skin a cat
How are they pulling the screed? I see a cable but they don´t show the puller

Thats awesome
Brilliant.

How manny hp engine ?
I love the idea but all concrete in all these movies lack a big mistake
Badass
Homemade bridge screed
having a decent cut-man would make this video less cringy. great concept though!
that's horrible what a mess of a floor bys didnt have a clue how to pour cement wow
What an ignorant comment
I think this vibrating screen is a pretty cool design saves a lot of work obviously the guy that made the above comment loves doing this by hand

Looked pretty clean to me
