Monolake's Hongkong, Cinemascope and Polygon_Cities albums are still in regular rotation for me. Saw him back in Melbourne in the early 2000s where he blew the subwoofers :)
Thanks guys. He has always been an inspiration. Archaeopteryx and Studio are absolutely Fantastic designs. A Monolake or Henke work is something you recline to multiple sessions and sip w the mind, like a fine beverage. Listen, listen and listen again. I really admire his humble Nature when it comes to music. Thanks a lot for this one. Huge Ae fan here too but nothing will ever replace those first 3 or 4 albums for me.
The wonderful feeling when at 1:08:17 Robert lifts his arms and becomes the most relaxed and honest person. Thank you so much for this, always interesting to hear him and you speak!
So nice to hear a genius of our age talk so candidly and in simple terms about their production choices not overthinking things, but having a honed sense of taste and intention. “Just slap a convolution reverb on it and choose a cathedral setting” 😄
+1 on all of the comments here. I love many… Jesus maybe all of Monolake’s music but am particularly attached to Gravity. Studio is absolutely astounding too 😊
Henke is one of the most (musically) influential people of the last decades (Ableton, Monolake) and a great artist (music, lasers, whatever he wants). I love his modesty. That said, Roberto, put Granulator on a piece of hardware, por favor! (by the way, I use it mapping all it's parameters to a Novation XL, so, another shout out to one of the best, if not the best, controllers of our time )
I had a really great time listening to you both. It was so interesting and the topics were so close to my interests. Making music is just my hobby but I really felt I was part of the same community as you two
@@mylarmelodies I owned and sold a DH89 (with the keyboard controller that I'd managed to find after searching for years). Wonderful machines and extremely rare to see three in the wild. The keyboard controller especially was a work of art, and a design masterpiece. Wishing you a happy healthy 2025.

huh - when was this interview? he talks about playing at an italian festival in a few days and that has to be "terraforma" in milano, but that was cancelled? so was this interview in early june 2024?

Loved this episode! It’s always great hearing other artists talk about their process, very inspiring….
Glad one of you wore a light shirt and the other wore a dark shirt.

Perfect timing this! I've been on a real Henke binge lately watching a lot of his talks from over the years.

The interview is cool and all, but to be honest, im here for the ads! xD
Some kind of time travel event here…? Young Henke interviews himself. 🙂
We had to do it remotely for safety reasons - if we touched each other we become orange goo
nice talk, guter Mann!
Twins 😁
I laughed when I put us together on the timeline, my doppelgänger!!
