it is not that they did not know what archer that had alot of experience with them when they were fighting the Roman empire and it is classed as a missile because it is a projectile so I is put under that one name

The tactical advantage of the mounted spear is that its safer to use rather than a mounted sword. Basicaly you trade damage for safeness.
