    I absolutely love your channel!! I have been a med tech for 1.5 yrs and I happen to find your channel right before I start my first med tech travel assignment. I have been feeling nervous because it's a new hospital and new department (blood bank), but watching your videos really added some motivation and ease to my spirit. I'm motivated to learn more in the lab and gain balance on my life outside of work too. Thank you for being you :)

    How are the hours? I mean are you offered overtime and bonuses and shift differential for night shift and weekend warrior s? You may have videos that answer these questions. I apologize if you already answered. Thank you for videos!

    • @domilarae
      @domilarae  Год назад +3

      The hours are good and really flexible, but it just depends on what you want to work. I do 3x12s day shift now. My old job was nights with shift diffs, including weekends, definitely overtime available with the shortage lol. Sign on bonuses available with most hospitals nowadays with a 1-2 yr commitment

      it’s one person per department for night shift where I worked. My current job has 7-9 people working just in microbiology 😂

    Hey Dominique, I just start watching your videos and was glad that you have been letting us know how it is working as a MLS. I've been having such as a hard time finding someone who shares their experience as a MLS. Just curious to know what do you find the most difficult thing to deal with while working in lab.Thank you so much for this informative video.

    • @domilarae
      @domilarae  2 года назад +2

      I don’t think there’s too many things that are really difficult. There’s challenges that come with encountering problems for the first time or performing certain tests for the first time, if that makes sense. But exposure to the more difficult tasks really helps with confidence, practice is key!

    hello Dominique, I am a Nigerian MSc student studying Forensic science. Is it possible to take the ASCPi exam while in the USA to later on apply for a job after my MSc program

    • @domilarae

      They usually require a degree in medical laboratory science. You can contact the ASCP board to see if your degree and courses will be accepted.
