    With regards to the criticism of the terminator arming itself to the teeth just to kill one person - he is a tactical unit that will plan for any and all possible scenarios. Given this information, there was always a strong possibility of military or police involvement, so all of the extra weaponry was a tactical plan, which turned out to be extremely useful when he had to raid an entire police station to find his target. There was zero redundancy in his choice of available weaponry.

    • @fvckingtest
      @fvckingtest 27 дней назад

      I like the jib of your cut, sailor. The terminator acquiring clothing to blend in, then immediately gathering a cache of weapons before starting his mission of tracking down his target would be the most methodical and logical approach. Showing up at the first Sarah Connors house as 6'4" 300 Lb nude bodybuilder with a thick Austrian accent might have elicited a different response from the LAPD.

      It had never ever even crossed my mind about why the T-800 would need to be heavily armed, but your reasoning makes perfect sense. A very intelligent and well-thought out comment! 👍🙂👍

      I want an alternate Terminator 1, starring Franco Colombo and Bess Motta. See, he's an older, jankier terminator so he mistakes Ginger for Sarah and spends the whole movie trying to terminate her, but he can't, not because she's smart or anything but because he's not very good at terminating. A wacky chase scene at the gym ensues. And then they have a talk and resolve their differences over a tub of ice cream or something.

    11:00 I would disagree here and say that actually this film score is quite celebrated in the experimental electronic music genres, especially Industrial, EBM, and Dark Wave. I personally was incredibly moved by the score the first time I saw it as a kid (in the 90's on VHS after being blown away by the first one in theaters). I eventually spent about 40 dollars on Ebay for a CD copy of the original film score. The music during the third and final future sequence is one of my all time favorite pieces of music from a film!

But then Sarah might have said "Oh my god my mom is in danger? We have to help her!". But he really should have told her the Terminator can impersonate voices, so if she talks to anyone on the phone, maybe ask the person something only they would know.

      @James_Bee 8 дней назад +2

      $25 million in today's money is peanuts compared to low budget films, which is now considered $100 million.
      Compared to most movies of the time having budgets 4 times that of Terminator... yes, it had a limited budget.
      I'm also being generous as some films, such as Cleopatra had a $60 million budget in 1960!
      Raise the Titanic had a $40 million budget in 1980.
      Only two examples, but average Hollywood films had significantly higher budgets than Terminator.
      Movies today are averaging several hundred million!

    I love Jim Cameron, and the vast majority of his films. he is a true renaissance man. a great artist, visual story teller and a great concept man. he may be very kubrick-esq when it comes to his treatment of his actors, but his perfection comes out in the final product.
    also... I think we need Stan Winston more now than ever. RIP to the man who made movies MAGIC

    The Terminator carrying 65 guns does make sense. It’s not so much to kill one lady but going around a city trying to kill people all in a row would get the attention of police and others. So he’s gotta be prepared to take out all possible resistance which fits for a machine.

    Always found it odd that the T-800 kills Sarah’s mom in this film, & we never hear about it again… either in the rest of T1, or at any point in T2.
    Idk, just seems strange the T-800 didn’t just kill Kyle Reece (who Sarah was obv very close to), but also John’s grandmother, & we never hear mention of it.
    No line like when Sarah is about to smash the T-800’s processor in T2, no warning to John like “this thing murdered your father & my mother, it cannot be trusted.”
    …?

    I'm glad they mentioned that Skynet is doomed in this movie. Like the whole thing is a hail Mary desperation play and its sorta implied that Skynet has already lost since Reece is sent back in time with the same machine used to send the Terminator back. They beat Skynet and then sent Reece back
