Ryan Leaf is doing a heckuva job. I’m glad to see him thriving in life and not a cautionary tale like so many players that have a dramatic fall from grace. He’s a more than able fill in for Rich. Continued success to him.
He's really good. Good voice for it too.
Yep, he’s doing pretty good
I’d argue that he remains a cautionary tale with hope attached to the end.
He's better than Rich. More of a football mind.
This man is a positive cautionary tale. His failure and future alternative success should be noted.
I'm actually really digging Ryan's guest hosting. I think he's doing a great job, helps that he's able to poke fun at himself
He's got a great personality - the man has crashed and burned and arisen from the ashes of his own character flaws... to become this entertaining delightful man we see now
Better than rich
Yes, Ryan is a great host. And he seems to get better each time he steps in for Rich.
He needs to do what Pat macafee did and start his own show/podcast
@@evangreen5205 boo this man
I love Ryan Leaf man hope he gets his own show I’m tuning in everyday
I love his humility.
Pretty sure he’s got a podcast… but everyone does nowadays
Ryan Leaf is charismatic, well-spoken, funny and intelligent! Doing a great job! Really enjoy his hosting style!
It's like Rich lite but with Leaf brew lol
If you aren’t rooting for Ryan Leaf, you have no heart. Great to see him thriving.
Ryan Leaf needs either to be a regular guest or have his own show. The guy’s made for sports talk radio
Peyton Manning seems to want to be a personality in the sports world in retirement, but Ryan Leaf is leaps and bounds better than him in this regard.
He has a personality and a presence better than Manning, which says a lot.
Leaf will have a longer career in sports broadcasting than Manning had in the NFL. He'll probably make more MONEY too! Lol.
@@dialecticalmonist3405
He is every bit as good as a sports media personality as he was expected to be as an NFL QB lol
Leaf is doing a heck of a job. Love how he presents the info and speaks his mind. Nice to see he has been able to rebound over the years
Yes. The clean and sober Ryan Leaf is a natural at this. I am impressed. Recovery will be his full time job forever, but a measure of success might help keep the demons at bay. A tip of the hat to Rich Eisen for providing the opportunity to both Ryan and those of us in the audience.
So glad Leaf gots it together cause he is killing it hosting...
Well done bro well done 👏
I've become such a fan of Ryan Leaf. So proud of how he's turned his life around.
I like Ryan Leaf . He’s got a sense of humor about himself .
He should have his own show. I like his takes and personality.
Turning your life around shows you have character Ryan....keep up the good work buddy.
This dude is awesome. Needs his own show. Doesn’t take himself too serious and has great takes
This guy has found his calling, say what you want he is good.
im genuinely and pleasantly surprised at how great Ryan has been, good for him man
I’m glad that Ryan Leaf has turned his life around. He’s owned up to the mistakes that he’s made and is taking responsibility of his life by being apart of this show.
Ryan Leaf is a badass. So much respect to this dude
This man needs his own TV show I knew who he was and his story but never really knew his full story and now he he explains itself he's a really good guy I like him we need to hear more from him
It’s amazing how likable someone is when ego is greatly reduced.
Really glad to see Leaf poking fun at himself. Good stuff.
I have to say Ryan always does a great job of hosting - Happy for him
Im really happy for Ryan and I genuinely enjoy his takes when he host the show. Well done Ryan!! 👍
Glad to see Ryan Leaf is doing his thing in media now. Way to bounce back man! 🙌🙌
We are all proud of you, Ryan. Way to turn it around, you are killing it!
It's good to see someone like Ryan Leaf who had so many struggles and set backs get to such a good place. He's got a great attitude and can bring one of the most unique insights to covering the NFL. I hope he continues to get good opportunities...Monday Night Football could use him.
Didn't the "experts" say the same thing about Joe Burrow's hands a couple of years ago?
His hands are not even close to as small as picket while inch and a half difference. 8.5 is waaaaaaaay too small for the league aint no way this guy is anything more than a back up
When people mention his hands it's not them saying " this is why this qb won't work in the nfl" it's them pointing out something that COULD be an issue.
Dude Ryan is great.. it feels like he’s been doing this for years…
Ryan, you are great at this. Looking forward to more
Didn't they say joe burrow had small hands that would hurt his throwing ability?
Ryan Leaf is earning his own show. He has the voice, the personality, and the intellect. When Rich is out the show is unbearable, but Ryan has done a sensational job.
I'm so happy to see that Ryan has in essence turned his life story into an overall success story from the draft to now. I remember that draft. He persevered
They say this anytime there isn't a clear cut "star QB" in the draft, and yet 3 or 4 QBs still go in the top 10 picks.
FOMO
Dont think any going in top 10 this year
Agree .. Ryan is awesome as the guest host. Funny, knowledgeable, self-deprecating.
Ryan Leaf is a pretty good host! Except when he clearly got his own height wrong saying he's 68 inches, which is only 5' 8".
I'm glad someone mentioned this, I was starting to wonder scrolling down if I was the only who noticed this.
I think he was a little under 6'6" at the combine (which is about 78 inches).
Good to see Ryan doing a great job he seems like he’s a very likable guy unlike the way the press made him out to be I hope these guest appearances grows into your own show I’ll subscribe good luck in future
They gotta hire Ryan full time. He's good at this
He's come such a long way..
Love this dude
I can't even recognize him at all.
He's been able to integrate his struggles into a sense of humor and humility, which makes him an amazing speaker.
All the credit goes to Ryan Leaf for enduring and succeeding. Doing helluva job!
"you'd be the clubhouse leader at ten and a half, Russel Wilson, active leader comes in at ten and quarter"
"so.....we saw how that all worked out for me..."
as Ryan illustrates, being quick to use yourself as a punchline while also acknowledging your position may be wrong is a very effective way to communicate. nothing builds trust faster
Ryan Leaf found his calling. Great job!
Is it just me or does an older Ryan Leaf look like a younger Kevin Nash in the face?
I first want to say I am happy to see Ryan Leaf doing well & nailing the host job. Secondly, the hand size pretty much summed up in this clip when he says his hand size is 11in.....& we all now the minimal success he had in the league. It's not what you do, it's how you do it.
Ryan Leaf turning his life around is an amazing story. God Bless him.
I think Leaf has done a fantastic job filling in for Rich. Perhaps this will lead to him getting a hosting gig or co-hosting gig with another program or maybe an analyst job, especially during the draft season. His insight into the combine and what the numbers really mean was interesting.
I wonder how many times Ryan has been told “so you’ve turned a new Leaf, good for you Ryan”
Leaf said he was 66" at the combine. 🤣🤣🤣 Boy needs to go back to math class. I don't think he's been 5'6" since he was 12.
6 foot 6 … 66 …
That Wash St. education🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@doct101 He said 66 inches and grew to 67 inches. Maybe we should have changed to the metric system in the 60’s to make measurements easier for math-illiterates.
Ryan is doing a GREAT job at guest hosting!!👏👏🔥🔥🔥
Wouldn't it be hilarious if he has a longer career in sports broadcasting than Manning had in the NFL AND makes more money at it?
I think that would be poetry.
@@dialecticalmonist3405 😂😂😂
Ryan is really good at this! O hope he does more of this
I’m just glad to see Ryan Leaf doing good and he’s great at this too!
Nice to see Leaf turned it all around and found his calling. And, being humble about his time in the NFL makes him far more like able.
I’ve seen a young Ryan Leaf firsthand Pullman and elsewhere in the PNW. To see that bratty, misguided child turn into the man he is today, after all the struggles (self inflicted as they were) is great. He seems so much more comfortable in his own skin. Nothing but respect and admiration for what he has done to turn his life and attitude around. And he’s a natural at this stuff.
I have to admit, I absolutely love Ryan Leaf filling in for Eisen. I would have never imagined he would be doing this well and how much I enjoy listening to him.
I kind of wish Ryan leaf had his own documentary or show. He has really good insight. Thank you RE and Leaf and keep up the good work
Don’t know how I ended up here, but this was great content. Awesome to see Ryan doing well.
Never thought I'd say this, but we need more Ryan Leaf. I'm really enjoying him.
This guy has found his purpose in life!
Very entertaining host
Love listening to Ryan. Great story and comeback
Ryan, you’re doing a kickass job. Keep it up!
Who knew Ryan Leaf was such a likable guy, I honestly had no clue but hope to see more of him in the future.
I love Ryan Leaf's insight. He's doing really great here.
Wow I am really enjoying Ryan leaf as a host! Rlly happy as a chargers fan that he is turning around and doing much better. I would love to see him host his own ESPN show. Much love! 🤙🤙🤙
It is funny that not a single comment about this video (or others) is what Ryan is talking about. They are all about his exceptional growth as a man and human being. And, he is so good in this forum. He has the humility and self-awareness to be able to
I'm definitely not hating this Ryan Leaf podcast thing
Ryan Leaf is a hell of a commentator. If he can’t get his own tv show platform, I hope Rich Eisen can at least help Leaf get the groundwork started for a podcast. If that happens, Mr. Leaf already has one subscriber. Good stuff!
QBs most important traits are decision making and not turning the ball over. Not their wheels or rocket 🚀 arm.
Agreed 💯
Ryan is channeling Rich pretty good, as if he was Rich’s understudy for a couple of years.
Ryan is awesome at this hosting stuff
This man needs his own show
Leaf is a legit guest host💯
I freaking love Ryan leaf hosting a show!!!
I love Ryan Leaf's new life. Good for him.
It's good to see Ryan Leaf doing well.
Ryan is awesome at this.
Leaf needs his own show!
Ryan Leaf is one of the best guest hosts!
Ryan predicted the exact situation with Rodgers lol
Ryan is almost 6’7. 66” is 5’6.
4 digit numbering system.
Ryan Leaf is easily one of the best analysts in the business
Nice job Ryan. Keep looking forward.
The circumference of college footballs ranges from 20 3/4 inches to 21 1/4 inches lengthwise from end to end, versus 21 inches to 21 1/4 inches in the NFL. At the widest point of the ball, the circumference is 27 3/4 inches to 28 1/2 inches in college and 28 inches to 28 1/2 inches in the NFL.
I was never a Ryan Leaf fan of course since I am a diehard Las Vegas Raiders and USC Trojans fan but I commend him for his comeback as a sober and productive member of society and I think he has finally found his true calling. I would love to see him do a show along side Rich Eisen
Like this comeback story with Ryan.
Love the life change this guy has made. I could listen to a podcast ... Which he probably has but just his journey is insane.
America demands it. We must have the Ryan Leaf show.
People act like this doesn't matter but if you've ever played QB, this may be the single most important measurable of the whole combine
Thank you thank you thank you. I’ve been saying this for years. To me it’s a make or break measurable to me
I'm right at 9 , I don't know how 8.5 could any pump fake .
Yeah tell Joe burrow that
There is almost no correlation between hand size and NFL success. It’s nonsense.
@@vinniepaul182 9 inches is considered the bare minimum so no
Ryan is killing it as a host!
Ryan and romo need their own show together it would be light and they need to do games together
This guy here Ryan leaf is captivating to listen to he has a natural talent for this ,
This guy is great!
+1 for the Ryan Leaf Show
Leaf is great at this. I seriously don't care about watching or hearing anyone talk about sportsball, but I'd watch Leaf talk about this stuff all day. Hes just an interesting dude.
I would listen to The Ryan Leaf Show everyday
Needs his own show, super talented guy
3:50 I'd say Ryan did great for being 5 foot 5
How did no one catch that?!
Definitely needs his own show
If Ryan started his own show or podcast I would totally subscribe I like this guy .
Weather doesn't get bad in Pittsburgh during the college season. Rain happens of course, but the cold weather doesn't typically hit until well into December.
Just as We about 2 go into the playoffs.
You obviously don't know western PA, ha ha ha!! I've lived here all my life!!
@@wiseguysoutdoors2954 40 year resident. It really doesn't get bad until late November if that soon. Of course there are outliers, but November highs this past year averaged close to 50 degrees.
As a Denver fan I’d love to see the Broncos get Rogers but it’s never gonna happen. The price is just to steep. If you don’t give up players, those draft picks become worth a lot less because Roger makes almost any team into a contender. Give up enough players and now you got Rogers and… basically nobody because you gave up everything for Rogers.
Im a lifelong Broncos fan too. How you feeling about Russell?
@@hugh-jasole I mean it’s an upgrade over what we had. But I dislike giving up Harris and Fant as part of the deal. Do I think it puts us at Super Bowl contenders? No I don’t. But it should make us playoff contenders.
Man i think Leaf is doing a amazing job.
Great to see him in great spirits. The hand size thing is a old school view of football.
The game had changed over the years.
Look what Burrow did with his small hands in his second year, dude made the SB and possibly had the best season ever of any college QB
Ryan Leaf guest hosting is great, I did not know that this was part of his skill set. To be fair, we didn't get to see him in action enough to really see what he could have been. That being said he has presence as a host
