they have like a four or five year age difference, which isn’t that bad once they’re older. but it’s weird at the age they are in the show. but i do think they could’ve had a good relationship way down the line. if we disregard their canon ages, they look fairly similar in age anyway. like 13 and 16 at the most, but that’s just cause the actors were probably similar in age
My friend who is 14 has a boyfriend who is 17. I think it's all good as long as you don't have too much intimate contact.The only thing that's weird is he will be 18 soon.

Once Maya is in college, the age difference would disappear and become a non issue.
