I mean he hit a C5 which is near the highest note he does live. Also he showcased that scream in a way that made it exciting. Hearing a high tenor do a solid scream is super unique and cool.
It gets better the more you listen to it trust me man, I feel like when you know exactly what’s coming up next in a song it hypes you up more

Maybe I'm just a guy who really wants more evolution in metalcore with these younger bands, but this is song is kind of growing on me. The structure of the song is a bit odd and I feel a bit more variation in the guitar work could've made it stronger, but it works for me nonetheless. I've never been the biggest Crown the Empire fan and while I saw some potential on albums like The Resistance and Retrograde, they didn't have enough material and like you said, innovation, to keep me interested. I feel like this song has gotten me a bit more interested in what they will create next, but if they're going in another direction, they have to make sure they don't alienate their core fans and pull another BMTH sound.
I also think breakdowns can be expected in the album though because they mentioned there’s a couple of heavier tracks

I don’t think I’ve seen someone that disappointed in awhile. New meme face when there wasn’t a breakdown💀 (Crown the Empire was the band that got me into metal and now they’re a band I can’t stand. Just doesn’t do it for me anymore. Especially when you know what they’re actually capable of.)

I feel this so much. I think a big part of it is their separation of Dave. Not that Andy can’t do uncleans, but they definitely don’t utilize them near as often.
@@jessehatler9889 I don't think so though. They've made it clear that he was hardly a contributing member writing and collaboration wise. Yes he had that nice screaming style but I feel like their style changed with the departure of the instrumental members. Their last album had David on it afterall.
this song isnt really metal or crown the empire but i still love it so much, it creates an emotion that cant be created by complexity or skill. the chorus is something really special and overusing it in this case id say is okay, judging by any other standards it definitely falls short but i still feel incredible every time i hear it. nik is inspirational tho because he always pushes for the best from everyone and thats why we watch him
Your right nik it is a weird song definitely because yeah I do need to expect more of the breakdowns and your right it is sad for us bro you and I noticed in the video that the band needed to be more texture vibe to it and what can I say it is not metal core but the song is more pop melodic rock kind of vibe there bro very catchy cheesy chorus and melodies and the wires in the video reminds me of the dangerous game show called the chamber omg this one takes me back to 2002 but overall better than the last album like you said earlier they need more instrumental guitar parts there I rate this a 3 also nik such a weird poppy song wow we’re both surprised by that nik love u 😍

I came here from last Bring Me The Horizon reaction video. And it is funny to see how people say that Crown The Empire went "softer" and "too pop". Come on. Look at BMTH comments. :D This is how Bring Me The Horizon could sound. Really. And it is not pop at all.

Dammit the entire intro sounded like Muse bass with what Hands Like Houses do I'll watch it all for supporting you but even the switch to the higher vocals was extremely predictable

Hey man I'm new to the channel, just wondering if you've ever heard of starset, it's my favorite band and it has a unique style in both of their albums. I'm not sure what your are really into so if you could check them out (not only their "posser" stuff) and tell me what do you think I'd be pleased. Ps I know old stuff from cte is better but I don't think this is bad at all, I mean it's different but hey I like it anyway.

They’re definitely going on a softer side but I think they fit well in their style ! I still dig it ! Since I discovered them by their last album I’m not that expectant in term of heaviness :)

Personally, I'm not sure how I felt about the song tbh. I was equally as upset when there was no breakdown lol, I think it would've made the song way better. It wasn't bad, just wasn't what it could've been. I loved your insight.

Basic ones are, but there are some insanely creative ones.
I like the concept...? But they have too much missing and replaced with pop flavor to be my jazz. The only thing sorta I liked was the first verse.
The chorus wasnt something i liked. The bridge(breakdown?) Threw a puzzle on me. Sounded unique-ish.
But yeah... iiits for thee radio... sellouts kill my heart...
It kinda feels like they were trying to put out a heavy song just to please older fans. Not a bad song, but it is kinda generic and a bit too repetitive towards the end. In my humble opinion they either should've tooken heavier or toned it down to be more pop like cuz as it is the so g is kinda in this limbo of it wants to be catchy but it also wants to be heavy as well.

The last album was okay, i didnt hate it. But I was pretty dissapointed with this song. Nothing new or distinct. The lyrics were also pretty bad, kinda generic. I think this probably proves Dave was doing most of the work. Lmao

I agree, a lot of songs don't need them. Just the way that everything was structured it seemed to be building towards a breakdown so to not have one it was a bit odd.
