So true, I love the idea of growing what you eat. A few months ago I did a video on preparing my vegetable garden for planting. I love to grow what I can!
There is nothing like picking fresh vegetables from the garden and cooking them. Okra is one of my favorites too. My ma makes okra just like this (she adds a pinch of turmeric powder) and it reminded me of my childhood days how we had fried okra with ghee rice for lunch . You do not need anything else it’s that tasty. Thanks Ria .
I always Sautee the onions, garlic and pepper first before throwing the orcho. I know u said u add them after so they don't burn. But I'll try that, maybe my ochro will be more crisp with your method. Thanks Ria!
Ginger Grant Thank you. You certainly can do that as well. That’s what I was originally taught, however I find that it takes longer to cook and does not get as crisp so I prefer this method.
Hi Ria! I know when you cook a TNT food It is well done you do it with an art. It is not like some of people they do it just for the sake of doing it but you enjoy doing it and enjoy it every step of the way thanks again ❤️ Okra is one of my favorite love love.
Looks delicious 😋 - another great recipe 😍. I usually sauté 1/2 on my onions at the beginning... saving 1/2 to add later with garlic n pepper. Guess what I’m craving now???
RiA, I truly hope you make it on “The View” one day. I’m sure the whole panel including my girl Whoopi Goldberg would love your food and you will put the TRINIDAD name on the map for excellent succulent and traditional cooking.
I understand your concern, but no wooden or plastic spatula is going to flip that okra the way I want without a challenge. You can use whatever makes you happy. If you also notice I was very light with the spatula. Thanks for stopping by.

Luv d way u knead d flour for all ur indìañ dishes, l learn a lòt.ķeep it up always b u and nobody else .
Thank you so much
Another tip I discovered when cooking ochroes is not to cover the pot while cooking to avoid steam buildup, as you did.
Good tip!
🤗👍
Yes Rita, agree with you, need a non stick pan for frying 🍳 ochroes.
I tried this tonight and it was simple and delicious!

It certainly will. I struggled with ochro for many years too until I tried this technique! Enjoy and good luck!
I love it crunchy as well, that’s how I did it (crunchy) when I did my video on it. Yum 😋
CookingWithRia you can still sauté aromatics first then add okra after fragrant. The trick is to add the salt towards the end of the cooking process.
Ginger Grant Thank you. You certainly can do that as well. That’s what I was originally taught, however I find that it takes longer to cook and does not get as crisp so I prefer this method.
This is the way my family makes fry ochro also. Good video👍
I liked how you said don't stir to prevent moisture, because that would cause it not to be too slimy, Nice nice.
Yummmm! I make mine the exact same way. I recorded the recipe a couple of weeks ago but with shrimp 😋
Awesome. Great minds think alike.
Never thought of having it with shrimp.😋
lovely vegetable looks yummy
Love watching you cook, inspires me!
Thank you.💐
So true, inspiration is contagious.
Love, okra. Thx RIA, for this New recipe. I have to try, never cooked this way before.💖👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks for sharing one of your delicious recipes. Now I can make your version. I could never make fry ochro
It’s a nice dish!

DELICIOUS RECIPE LOVE IT
Thank you so much!
Fried okra is certainly delicious 😋
👍👍👍😋😋😋
This is great, because I don't have to dry in sun before cooking
What about frozen okra would it come out good?
Yes. Defrost and spread on tray and leave on counter overnight.
I love ot thanks for sharing
Hello my dear Ria, I tried this in India but I don't like ochro. Once is enough but thanks for the recipe and do keep safe ❤🙏🏽❤
Thanks Carla. I know there are many who don't--including my husband--that's a good thing though because I eat it all myself 😀 Take care and stay safe.
@@CookingWithRia Ria you're too funny. I tried it once because I was told it's nice however it's enough for me❤😘❤

My #1 veg💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿
You need to used a wooden spoon so you would not scratch your pan
Did you slice the Ochras many hours before they were cooked ? They looked pretty dry...devoid of slime....when they were added to the oil !
I dried it outdoors in the sun.
Hi dear friend nice recipe 👍Sending my support 👍Keep it up stay safe & god bless 👍👍See you around❤️💯
RiA, I truly hope you make it on “The View” one day. I’m sure the whole panel including my girl Whoopi Goldberg would love your food and you will put the TRINIDAD name on the map for excellent succulent and traditional cooking.
Great video but a different spoon, like a wood one would make perfect
but dont use a metal spoon in your coated pan

True 👍
Thank you. Now I know what I'm doing wrong. I was stirring too much and using less oil so mine never crisp up.
lovely stay connected
