3:00 right smack in the middle a pair of incredibly rare POA-S1 amps. I have never ever seen these come up for sale on the used market in the 12 years I have looked. I read a forum post a few years ago about what is thought to be the only pair of US market 120v POA-S1 ever shipped or at the very least, the only pair ever shipped that were later sold publicly sometime around 2006. I have never seen these amps come up for sale on Yahoo auctions or really anywhere at all. Just for context, I have seen at least 20 pairs of Krell Audio Standard amps which were even more expensive and even the seemingly just as rare Victor/JVC ME-1000 I have seen at least 3 or 4 pairs come up for sale from time to time over the years. So to see a pair of those for real is quite incredible; a true unicorn of hi-fi.
I really like denon/marantz products and I appreciate all that Phil has done for the community. I have an av10 and 6700h so I use their products daily. IMO, they missed the mark on features with the M1.
Great conversation. I am intrigued by the 1st questions I heard regarding the sound quality of the Denon AVR A1H vs the Cinema 30 channel counts aside. Does the Cinema 30 sound better than the AVR A1H? If I don't have 15 channels, I am seeking the best 1-box solution from Masimo's Denon/Marantz . Do I lose anything by going with the Cinema 30 over the AVR A1H
I can't speak for the A1H but I owned a Denon 6500 and it was the first dennon product for me and I wasn't happy with it I mean it sounded pretty good but I always owned a yamaha but I took a chance and bought a marantz for the first time and it was the cinema 30 and to me the receiver sounds amazing
@@ddcrocky3831 The 6500 is another High-end Denon, but it's different from their flagship relative to the Cinema 30, a new Marantz flagship that costs quite a bit more. I expect a more expensive Marantz to outperform a cheaper and older Denon. I want to know if the Denon flagship outperforms the Marantz flagship AVR, albeit the Denon costs 2k more.
Re HEOS: I would like to see a streaming device that could playback multichannel from local files as well as from streaming services (Tidal Atmos, Amazon Music Atmos). Since this is impossible even with the latest Masimo products, there should be a device that you plug into HDMI (and it wouldn´t need an internal DAC) and control with your AVR´s remote and HEOS app.
How about... For a bunch of audioHOLICS? Because Audiophiles are not those who are tech verse and technical about audio. It's those who have more money then brain cells. At first I really thought audiophiles was a strong and powerful word and those who are audiophiles understand the sonics to the core and know what's actually good and how to proper set up good. But the more I scratched under the surface,... Then dug and dug and dug I realized those are just bunch of idiots with mighty deep pockets who don't even know a first thing about what is sound wave let alone how speaker works, claiming that they can hear the difference with their 100 000 dollar cables per meter which are suspended in air with some thingamajig to avoid some sort of wire to earth interference and other nonsense. :D
Are the M1 and M4 products Roon ready? A streaming amplifier that doesn't have this capability would be completely out of the question for me. Does anyone seriously use HEOS? If so, it's probably because they've never seen other systems.
Genuinely shocked to see that this formfactor nd on the backside looks same as the wiim amp. Wiim is way more capable streamer than heos and a wiim pro with a marantz amp dac would be a better solution in my humble opinion.

Unfortunate that the microphone the engineers were passing around was inoperable. However, I am really pleased with how my year-old Marantz cinema50 is functioning and it is exciting to me to see how committed the engineers at Denon/ Marantz are committed to producing on going “quality” products. This means the sale to Masimo was a good move and that the Denon/Marantz brand is - soaring! - under this new found leadership. I couldn’t be happier than witnessing this kind of success.

not sure what a cosumer is but I certainly enjoyed meeting the top engineers and designers behind Denon and Marantz products.
