We need more conversations like this one, where people with different views meet to discuss and not argue.

I absolutely LOVE Maria Shriver. What an amazing women, Thank you Simon once again for letting us listen in on your conversation with another wonderful person.
I am totally in agreement with Maria, in that when you get pleasure out of what you do for others it is not a sacrifice, as it is joyful and satisfying. What I got out of this conversation was that small actions do matter, get involved and take action on issues that truly touch your heart and don't be afraid to not know the process, just take a step forward.

Service is the choice button that signifies enough for me
Turn off the selfish mode : suffering end
Selfless mode activate : you feel joy

Love this - '....there is a field and I'll meet you there'. We are becoming more open to thinking as a whole as opposed to singular. For me, I noticed that it took a couple years to say one thing publicly and live it in all moments of my own life (even though sometimes I would expect others to live from a holistic place). We are all learning every day!

I actually liked the outside noises. It felt like we are part of it. and also I'm home most of my hours so... I guess I miss the sound of it too.

This was conducted so naturally and the conversation flowed between both of you with ease ❣️. Cheers to people who live passionately, those who chose to serve in the presence of risks, using or sacrificing time, energy and pleasures to the greater good of others. But we will always see it in the positive. I love that Simon. Inspire on. 💘💘

33:51 this is what's haunting me. This was very well put. Said what I was thinking/pondering/thought experimenting/ALL answers to life seem to be scattered across the planet. A big scavenger hunt?

Everything seems perfect but please, put a bigger picture of your guest (even as respect). You have a huge picture and she has this tiny one but I loved what she said❤️. Thank you for the podcast, I enjoyed immensely.

*8:45** typical people who can't argue keep insisting on something the other isn't even implying. Add to that and they don't let the person they're having a conversation with finish their point. These are the kind of people to avoid. Very obtuse and close-minded individuals who think they know everything or thinks they know more than their contemporaries will only halt positive change.*

Maria seemed miserable and kept interrupting and arguing when Simon was trying to finish his point of view. Not agreeing all the time is good, but this was just annoying and didn't seem respectful, but I still liked the point Simon tried to convey.

this is active generation but ignorant. Skip school and fight for the wring things. Should be in the school, look for work an honestly live a normal life, with respect, values. consideration and honor. All the sacrifice has a price, we need be thankful and take it for grant.

I completely disagree. I am blessed as a millennial to be surrounded by Gen Z youth of all ages. They are incredible souls and inspire me continuously. I feel such a magnetic pull to them to be their support and encouragement system, a safety net, a mentor. I guess that's how I ended up actually being those things as a choir director for Gen Z youth and also being a huge part of raising a Gen Z-er as her much older sister.
Everything I thought was "wrong" with them was actually my own wrong perception and approach. I learned that there is nothing wrong with them, we just need to approach them differently. We should reach out to them, see them, hear them, listen to them, not assume they are wrong. They're fine, this world is what needs fixing. WE need fixing. THEIR PARENTS need fixing. Not them.
But we cannot change the world or their parents, we can only change ourselves. Lucky for everyone, when you change one crucial variable, the result inevitably changes even if the other factors remain the same. So we CAN invoke change, as long as we start with ourselves.
I'm starting with me. That results in Gen Zers trusting me enough to become indefinitely open to grow and evolve.

Also, to be fair, they literally had almost no school this academic year between strikes and the pandemic. They had hell of a year. Some even locked at home with emotionally manipulative, even abusive parents. If not that, then extremely stressed parents due to the pandemic who don't know better than to lash out. They had a fucking awful year and it is our job to help them come through this better than we did during the recession.
