Well, I am dreading the one where we are all forced to eat bugs after all the farmers have been arrested. At that point, I suspect me and at least 6 others, would be done with eating altogether, if you get my drift...

I'm dreading the new 'Modern' looks that various food service businesses will be trotting out. In my experience nothing modern or progressive are actually very good. They look and feel oppressive to me.

    • @bradford_shaun_murray
      @bradford_shaun_murray 8 месяцев назад +1

@@prodigalpriest I'm noticing the minimalist styling of the new decor inside fast food places that's leading to the future of fast food as just drive thru or home delivery only. It's like they are discouraging people from eating inside the restaurant. You go in some places and there is no one at the 1 or 2 checkouts to take orders for minutes at a time - old decor had 4 or 5 checkouts serviced nearly all the time. Eventually there'll be 1 or 2 staff at most at these fast food places in a big box building with all automated cooking and packaging of meals to waiting drivers/delivers. The food will still be crap though and meat will probably be outlawed and replaced with dried grasshopper patties due to some climate change cow methane bullsh*t.
I think the powers-at-be would like an orwellian future where if you don't need to, then people never leave their homes, work from home, and just do as they are told by the mainstream media and purchase from home.

Prices have gone up because of whiney employees that don't want to do their job, and aren't even worth $5 an hour think they deserve $15 an hour. You should be paid what your performance is worth. The majority of fast food workers in the USA that I have dealt with are lucky to be worth $3 an hour. Of course, there are exceptions to that, but it's true about the vast majority of fast food workers.

@@TechBearSeattleThere are many jobs that are a LOT harder than flipping burgers that don't pay nearly $15 an hour. Be honest with yourself for a second... Have you ever met a fast food worker that actually deserved to be paid more than $5 per hour? I didn't think so.
Fast food workers demanding $15 or more an hou is one of the main reasons everything is getting more and more expensive. Giving lazy workers more money is one of the worst things that has ever happened to our economy!

Every single restaurant on this list has failed in their goal of having good food at these astronomical prices now! NOBODY GETS IT RIGHT! Under baked dough from Hut (miss that Smokehouse pizza from Justin Wilson, btw), lackluster fries from every burger chain here, hospital class bland items at sit down eating establishments, BS reasons for cost hikes when they're making billions off of us, & even worse issues with customer service in ALL OF THEM! Even the coffee (Buckstars, looking at y'all $10+ for liquid bean water) & doughnuts (both Dunkin & Krispy) have failed... It could eventually go full circle, most things do.
I'd go there if the food was also more old fashioned in the way it was cooked, not full of trans fats, msg and too much sugar/dextrose.
A new chain could use today's fast food problems as a counterpoint to be different against. They all seem to be going to this bland pick up and leave/drive thru concept.
The challenge for a new chain to do that old fashioned dining style of even just 10 years ago as something 'new' today, they'd have to go full hog at that concept and really make it a strong colorful almost over the top part of their identity and at the same time totally exploiting the same style of ad campaign spaces as the others to use against the roboting bland minimalistic way the competition is evolving their business models - fast food restaurants today are starting to look like they are designed by the same people that design bland looking electric cars, same vibe, no soul, droid-like.
The new business would have to start small in one region of states, then try the other 2 regions of the usa to also feel it out against the roboting fast food environment they are competing against.

Canada here. I don't eat burgers much or visit fast food joints, but on a super busy day I will go to A&W but only when I get a reduced flyer special. With a new city wide by-law now in place, there is a sign at the window stating we have to request a paper straw, napkins or any side condiment + if you want a takeout bag, that is $0.15 more ($0.10 US funds 😆) I am sure that this will be a HUGE savings for A&W - but they won't reduce prices, only increase them. As for KFC, the last time I had that, I could swear they were just waiting for the chicket to hatch before it got the hatchet. And it was rubbery and super greasy - I think they have more crispy versions now, but the size of the meat has not changed. I hope this corporations get a big shock with people eating at home more because it is cheaper. IMO

I actually just recently drove past one of the revamped Burger King’s. And I have to say I’m disappointed. I don’t know what it is with food chains and the last probably 5 to 10 years but the locations have lost all of their magic. I remember going into a McDonald’s as a kid, and you would see things like chairs designed for children that looked like the piled up hamburgers with eyeballs on them. There were tables that had images of the various mascots on them. in the late 90s at one point they even had little kiosks with Nintendo 64 games on them. And then of course you have the jungle gyms and stuff.
And it’s not a fast food restaurant Pizza Hut was another example. You went into a Pizza Hut restaurant, and you practically felt like you were being treated like royalty. The table were all very clean sometimes depending on your location, they would even have tablecloths. You have those beautiful, red and white stained glass lamps hanging over you. And so many other things. Nowadays, nowhere near as good looking.
I don’t understand why so many restaurants nowadays especially fast food ones are going to this almost cookie cutter design with all of them. I can’t say this for sure but when I was a kid, the best thing about a lot of these different fast food places were the unique designs for the buildings. This made the build itself almost like a billboard. You knew what a McDonald’s look like with its unique building design. You knew what a Taco Bell looked like because of the same thing. You didn’t even have to look at the signs or anything you could just look for the general design of the building, and chances are you would Be able to find the location. And of course back then you had the bright colors and all the fun stuff. I went into a. I believe it was a Carl’s juniors not too long ago and it’s just awful. Everything is so dark in color now and it’s very they look very cold on the interior.
I almost feel like I’m walking into something that they probably would’ve had in like the Soviet union but with more technology.

I eat fast food at least three times a week and the experiences are wonderful. The first, Jack's, is a chain in my state only. They use real hamburger meat and milk shakes made from scratch. The only problem is there's always a long line of like minded customers there too. The second is Cook Out, a North Carolina based chain. They smother my burger in a mountain of grilled onions, bacon, and cheese ( and anything else I want) and they actually offer cole slaw that I usually dump onto my burger! Heavenly! Last I eat a grilled chicken sandwich from a local venue. Where does he get such high quality chicken that he really does cook up just for me? Plus he serves the single best steak fries I have ever seen or heard of. That food is one of the highlights of my week. MCdonald's, BK, Wendy's....bless your hearts....you don't have a clue!

I also noticed they had raised their prices from a visit 2 days earlier about 5%. Higher wages is the only solution to their hiring problem. Another hiring issue is that the town (and the entire state) is losing population daily due to no decent paying jobs coupled with horrible daily crime issues with a minimal police force. Worst of times ever for the fast food places here.

For example McDonald's may cut the the lunch/dinner sandwich menu to Hamburger, Cheeseburger, Double Hamburger, Double Cheeseburger, Quarter Pounder and Quarter Pounder with Cheese only (yes, the Big Mac will be axed. The breakfast sandwich menu may be reduced to Egg McMuffin, Sausage McMuffin (with and without egg), and Sausage Biscuit only (even McGriddles will be axed).
