There is a crap ton more to these open setup races, but one truth is that Max is playing the long game, while Paul is overworking the car from the very start. Max is just so much more controlled. A machine in flesh.
@@gladdy6412 but it's iRacing mate, Max himself said that you have to setup the car so that it understeers to make it work in iRacing and it clearly does. Overly sensitive slidey setups don't work on iRacing, that's just how the tire model is - especially in GT3.

Max has more of a sharp pointy style jittery trying to maximize grip everytime. Alex looks like he is maximizing grip while trying to be a smooth as possible. Great show of performance.

For all the hype of F1, the racing is trash compared to Indycar, which is why I'd rather see Max come over to Indycar. The cars are so much more equal and you have to be a more versatile racer due to the ovals. I have the highest level of respect for any racecar driver, but of all the series, F1 has the lowest grade as far as on track competition is concerned. It's more or less all spectacle, with almost no substance. The 2023 season bascially made a mockery of the series imo.

Both great drivers. Obviously IndyCar isn't on the level it used to be, it's more F2 level or lower now. However, Palou is a quick talented driver. So this is still a good comparison.
That is a great example of how small differences can win or lose a race. Max was hunting for the limit just a tiny bit more with small wheel inputs. Palou was much smoother which is required for the high speed ovals, but misses the limit by -0.081 sec. Max probably has a lot more experience on iracing level sims.

My father destroyed my love of sim racing from the incessant ridiculing of this hobby. And here we have two real life present day racing "champions" having a head to head in a racing sim.....the odds of that!!

Yeah but it's GT3... there's more time to be gained in LMP cars and of course F1 cars, however saying that as usual Max just fastest wherever he goes.
