The original album by Whitest Boy Alive was released under 2 different labels, so they probably dont want to give Fred any royalties at all if it were to be on streaming service. And since he has clearly some form of license on it (he's posted it under his own name here and it's been up for 9 years), that would be such a dick move--honestly if Fred is holding out bc of this, I support him 100%. He made this track into a dance hit; the original is 4min of sad emo whining that id never listen to LOL. Fred took the vocals and redid EVERYTHING--melody and all.

It was 2008, I was in Vancouver working late and using Limewire to download as many remixes I'd never heard of...when I stumbled upon this thing of beauty. Just heart-achingly gorgeous at the drop and a remix for the ages ❤
2008 was when I first heard this too. I was a bar manager and the dj play this as his opening song. I told him he needs to play this song at least 3 times a night every time he djs

This song triggers a deeeeep nostalgia for me. Takes me right back to this insanely passionate long distance fling I had where it was obvious it couldn't/wouldn't last, but it simultaneously felt so right.
That's the thing with long distance. It gets too perfect because so much is in your imagination. I've been there and definitely feel it in this song.

My youth/teenage years encapsulated in one single track. The nostalgia is overwhelming - its almost as if I can't take it - it's so melancholic for me, so sentimental and yet uplifting - so many memories, so many warm summer nights in the prime of my life, with girls, friends and a lust for life that I'm so desperately yearning for in this trivial (and at often times depressing) life as an adult..
But damn it's still as fantastic as when I heard it the first time way back when I was 16.

This was on a CD included with a music mag in NZ in 2008. We were on the Coromandel Peninsula for new years and this track was the perfect start for the late avo beginnings of what was to come. Still have very strong flashbak memories.

If you want to harp on the lyrics of this track, go ahead, continue developing your sedentary lifestyle, continue developing arthritis on your fingers by typing away whatever personal feeling you have over the song's lyrics that which no one cares.
