Hi, friends 👋🏻In this video I share how to easily master the Jacob's Ladder crochet stitch. Choose between the classic version or the modern. Both are super easy and have their own pros and cons. You decide which suits you best! 🤩 Let me know which is your favorite. xx
I’m 72. I love the way you explain everything. The first time I used the first method (that was a long time ago). The next time I used the second method. I liked the second method better. That is the only one I use now. ❤️Grandma Brenda
I like the second version. I made two blankets awhile back and they both turned out to be baby blankets instead of regular size and I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong. I even changed hook size. Now I know why since watching this video. I will try making another one lol. Thanks so much for sharing! Have a wonderful day! 🧶🙂😘❤
Very cool! Thanks for sharing this. Btw, I hear a symphony of cardinals playing their tune in the background at around 12:28 into the video. They are such lovely birds. ❤😊
I had never seen this stitch before. It’s very attractive and fun to make. I like the first version because of the scallops at the bottom-wondering if it would be solid enough to turn into a purse with those scallops across the flap. But I also like the second version if I were making a pillow cover or maybe blocks for an afghan. Thank you, Roz.
I'm glad I found your tutorial! Very easy to understand and follow....the .others I found were extremely complicated Just wish I could print this off , though wasn't too hard to do myself. (hope I remember What it says in the future)
Hello Roz ... Ive been crocheting for quite some time now and have never done a project with the Jacobs ladder . It is absolutely gorgeous and i love them both , with the number 2 version havind the overall edge . I definately have to try this and will attempt at making a scarf . I can see how the wonkey bottom would become one end & i can also see how the other end could become wonky as well to make it a perfect finish . This is definayely a dooer for me . As always something new was learned today . Have a great day along with the boys .
What a brilliant idea, Angela. I love the concept of taking advantage of that scallop edge for a scarf. That will be beautiful ❤️❤️❤️ Have a great week and big kisses from the boys 😽😽😽😽
I have been crocheting for 52 years. I learned version one when I was a teenager. I'm very comfortable with it but agree that measuring can be difficult. I think I'll try the modern version as it looks simple also.
The second one is super easy but chaining 10 … 😖😆 I would like to try trying just a ch8 and see if it stays flat. Then it would be perfect for my impatient soul 😂 . Thanks for watching 💕
Merci d'avance de me donner réponse à ma question. Bonne continuation et à bientôt. 😘
Absolutely, you can add a border around it. Here are some ideas that you might like : 1: ruclips.net/video/JskHR0b8hEE/видео.htmlsi=a84AfdofW7D8H_7E 2: ruclips.net/video/DanDhblIvfs/видео.htmlsi=9WmkzLZNJXLQo9W9 MERCI ❤️
Hi, thanks for presenting this stitch. As I am aware that there is a minimum of chains for the loops what would be the absolute maximum. Also I notice that 5 is a consistent number for the doubles, but if you do more would that affect the loop chain amount? Thanks again for simplifying this technique.
Hi 👋🏻 I don’t think changing the amount of dc’s with either version is going to cause you any issues. The loop height will stay the same. But if you want to switch to sc’s or hdc’s , then you’ll want to change the chain amount to make loops that match the height of those stitches. Hope that answered your question.
Hello, Thank you for this video. I really like this stitch. For the second version, do you think it can work if I work half doubles crochet instead of double crochet? Thank you 😊
I love Sunday mornings!!!! Always something new from Roz!! 🤗Very attractive stitch. Version one is all about tension. Version two is probably more forgiving. I myself would use the 2nd version. I think I would be more comfortable with it. Very pretty and different. Thank you Roz, for another fun stitch .💕 ~Joan~
As a relatively newcomer to crocheting, (always been a knitter).. I find your tutorials so easy to follow. You demonstrate and explain things simply. Some tutorials are too 'wordy' and leave you completely baffled and non the wiser 😄 I prefer the 2nd version of this stitch. It looks much neater. I'm aiming to do squares of each new stitch I learn, so I have a visual record for future reference. Thank you for showing me how
I use the 2nd pattern . I'm making a bag with this . I worked over my yarn changes but I don't like it. I will darn them in. working on the handle count now .
I prefer the modern version. I have a book that was showing me how to do this, and I was super confused at first on the sc row. I was ending up a little "off" on my next loop row because of where i was placing them, and adding too many sc's. Thanks for the clarification!! 🤗
Good morning Roz This is a beautiful pattern. Either way is doable but the 2nd method was quicker and a lot easier to remember. I can see where it would be a bit difficult to figure out your size. It would make a beautiful blanket though. Thank you again for this wonderful tutorial. I always look forward to them on Sunday mornings. I hope you have a blessed day Roz. 😊❤

Thank you for sharing your experience with both! It seems unanimous that the 2nd version is the preferred method . 👏🏻💕

I was so surprised when this stitch came together. I love it! ☮️🌎🌲

This is a very cool 👍 stitch pattern, like it very much and I prefer the modern version of it! Thanks so very much for this 🫶👍🫶🧶
Thanks, Maria! 👏🏻💕💕
Thank you for the 2 side by side examples of the Jacob's ladder. It always seemed too confusing to me but I'll definitely try it out now 🥳💞
Wonderful 😀👏🏻💕

Ohhh , great catch! Yes , aren’t they just beautiful? We live in a very wooded area ❤️
I made mutiple afgans with this and never knew what it was called. I had a friend's grandma show me how to do it probably 30 yrs ago❤
Fantastic 😀💕

What a great idea, Mary! I think it would work well to utilize the edge for a purse flap 🤩

I’ll work on a written pattern and add to the description box but yes until then , writing notes always helps me when I follow a video 💕

Yes! But you might need to shorten the chains since it won’t have to reach as far. Play with the ch number and see what looks best to you. 👍🏻💕
I like the 2nd version better and it looks better

Hi Roz, I'm glad you had so much fun with your daughter in Venice. I was wondering if you could present a c2c griddle/suzette stitch.
I’ll add it to my list so I won’t forget 👍🏻💕

Thank you for showing both versions. I prefer the modern version when I do the Jacob's Ladder.
Awesome, Barb, thank you 🤩💕
Oh! I just found a knit pattern like this and I love it. I have to refer back to the video but I can't find it so now I know what it's called. 😃
Ooh, lovely . 👏🏻👏🏻

It’s really not, dear Elaine . It’s a lot of fun, you’ll see ❤️
