Why do some streamers retire decks? Isn’t that just bad in all ways? Get lower Arena win rate and lower prizes instead of simply trying to win more until losing the 3 times? How is retiring ever a good thing?
When you play 8 hours a day sometimes you don't want to play the giga trash decks. That being said, no one really retired any decks ever for the first 5+ years of my streaming outside of maybe Amaz who did it more for content anyway.
The discrepancy between a "good" deck and a "bad" deck is pretty high as well these days whereas in the past the decks were often alot closer in power level where the difference was who had a flamestrike vs. now where it's often who can get a legendary excavate 2x while discovering the scourge with a Doc Holiday on curve.

They don't care about the rewards they just want to draft a better deck
it’s not fun and/or entertaining to play bad decks
it's their job; they make more money when they do well on stream so they are strongly incentivized to retire decks that they know won't do well.
