I remember the The Original Cosmos when I was in Junior HIgh school. It was good.
We are born with an enormous urge to explore and know more, everything is new and the boundary between magic and reality is blurry. But as we grow up we are taught that the universe is a cold and careless place with no more secrets to explore and so, one part of us dies and the once open mind closes and the light of wonder and magic shuts of mostly for good and what is left is a small dark room encapsulating you from even greater knowledge and appreciation for the universe. It is only when we glimpse outside our personal mental prisons that we can make progress in the strive for greater insight. More of us should try to open that door, the key to mental freedom is within yourself and it can only appears once you acknowledge the fact that it exists.
"A very small man he was. Yes, very small indeed. A man of very few words too as I recall." The ancient titan murmered, burying his head in her long golden hair. "Apart from you, my dear, he was the only mortal whose presence brought me comfort and peace."
"He sounds lovely," she mused, lifting her chin towards his gentle gaze. "Perhaps you can tell me the story of his great library again, my astronomer."
A deep chuckle greets her ears as he eases himself up from the endless abyss of the celestial heavens. He looks down at his sun and his golden eyes shine as he looks at her gentle smile. He gently holds her hands and lifts her up into his arms.
He moves throughout the heavens, holding her close, leaving a trail of newborn stars in his wake. She lifts her delicate arms toward them and holds them close. She smiles as her eyes droop close, the newborn star cradled in her arms.
He carries her away, as eons are only a blink of an eye to the ancient titan.
Her delicate body stir and she yawns, placing her palm on his chest. The steady rhythm of his chest is no heartbeat but the gentle thrum of ancient clock.
"Where are we, my love?"
"Our end, my heart," He whispers, placing her feet in the heavens and taking her hands in his own. "This is the end of our time."
She gazes into his golden eyes and stands on her toes, pressing her forehead to his.
"I will go where you go, and where you stay, I will stay."
He smiles and brushes her golden hair out of her face. "I do love nothing in the world so well as you."

You know, I always dream of having an Astronomer library exactly like this. Walking around, reading books, looking up at the stars and just sitting back and relaxing What more could anyone ask for? This is peace.

A place he’ll never reach
A wonderous heartbreaking existence
For those curious about the orb object in the beginning: it is called an "armillary sphere".
So I looked it up and dug up some amazing stuff surrounding the armillary sphere. This Greek guy Hipparchus is credited as the believed creator of said sphere but where he got his knowledge was from a compilation of Sumerian sources known as "System B". It goes on to say he even used the same system of measure created by the Sumerian texts.
Mind blowing. It's weird that this isn't common knowledge. At least not to me. And I only read 15 min in Wikepedia, lol. my first mistake probably was going to Google to search for things when I have no bearing.
As a kid whose life mission is to be an astronomer and to own a great library, I approve!!!

A library is a special, sacred place, in my view. A library is a place of safety, and a safe place to learn. If knowledge is power, then a library is an arsenal with which to arm oneself to beat back the darkness of the world.
Oh how I wish for this to be my dear mother's resting place... She was such a gentle soul. Her wish was to one day have a piano and a room full of books. Unfortunately those wishes were never fulfilled, but seeing this masterpiece I can't help but imagine her wandering there for hours on end, from book to book and page to page, reading in silence with a smile on her face... The only thing missing is her piano.

Imagine if this is what the afterlife looked like. The first thing you see when you open your eyes. All the books are a memory in your life that you can read and reminisce on. You have a week to just ponder and think about all your successes and mistakes. The clock tells you how much time you have left to spend in the Great Library of Memories.. once the clock strikes, you’ll be transitioned into Paradise.
This is a very peaceful library. I listen to this in the background while surfing the internet.

The subtle off coloring, textures forming around light flashes, violin subtly descending downwards only to rise again, shimmer and shine created by thousand years old dust. Golden blinking of book covers adorned with golden letters , chandeleirs of crystal and silver tenaciously reflecting what light there is, bloom dressing the whole image in positive feelings while the fire quietly mutters a crackling lullaby.

This splendidly haunting & detailed work reminds us that while the beautiful, mysterious, & unrelenting cosmic clockwork of the cosmos will turn all the highest experience, knowledge, & accomplishments of mankind to dust - there is no reason we should not strive to apprehend the mystery, nor work to record & share it - as long as we are able.
I thought the paintings of the cosmos were actually paintings of flames, and the idea of fire within such an immense awe-inspiring library seemed a reminder of how easily such a treasure could go up in flames and be gone in an instant, and of how much longer it takes to create than to destroy.
This helps me so much to focus writing my school papers, thank you for the video!
The large door creaks and rumbles open releasing a sprinkling of dust from around its edges. Your eyes adjust to the light and finally you see it.
The astronomers great library. It's just as otherworldly and ethereal as you imagined after searching for as long as you can remember.
The way the light makes the brass astrolabes sparkle throughout the room, the clocks that seem to be ticking for time itself or even for all the time you spent on your journey here.
You close your eyes and take a deep breath inhaling the smells of old parchment and leather bindings that fill the room. When you exhale you finally feel content knowing you didn't just spend your life wondering. You found it.

The perfect studying masterpiece doesn't exi..
This was a welcomed break in the stressful and, sometimes even meaningless cycle of modern life. As kids we grow up with untainted eyes, awing at the mystery and beauty of the world but as we grow up, so much of that is taken away. Its like we are being blindfolded from the day we were born and as the years goes away, the grip is just getting tighter. This video opens a glimpse into what once was lost, the fascination of the universe and urge to explore it like a child with no worries and where your fantasy is the only thing that sets the limit to what is possible. A personal library containing secrets and knowledge which goes beyond your wildest dreams, a place where worries and the constant distractions in life are replaced by the calming and rhythmic sound of the ticking clock, a room with a warm soul calming its inhabitants and urging them to expand their view of reality into new spheres of beauty and awe. Our mind is a library with countless empty shelves, and its a shame to keep them stand there and collect dust.

Library of my dreams, I need it to be made into wallpaper for my office. :) Better yet, I need a wall-sized screen, so the sounds and lighting, etc. can be heard and seen, on ALL the walls, and I'd redecorate so the real room and the astronomer's library is so similar that it would be hard to tell when one ends and the other begins, and my desk would be in the middle with my hourglass on top and all the old-world decor I can find to fill the room. I'd have a community showing, inviting you to be the distinguished guest. Your creations are SUPERB!!!

I agree. For now, I use Google cardboard to view this and it is immersive enough. You can turn your head a bit, and it fills your field of view. It really is different than viewing it on your phone.
