I recently bought a 2015 GTS. No matter how bad my day is i know i have that car to drive where ever i like and that makes me happy. Its amazing. This car is truly beautiful.
Mike, it's not Burmeister, it's Burmester. I was corrected by the teacher at Porsche academy over my pronunciation, sure enough, no 'i'. I agree with the review, I love driving the Panamera GTS, in fact, we all love it at our dealer. What I don't love is the black/black '14 GTS with a PDK issue thats currently stuck in my bay and won't move. First one Porsche AG or PCNA has seen. Lucky me.
My absolute favorite automobile on the road today. If I had the mula I would not think twice about buying this car. After looking at this video review my heart is even heavier because it makes me want one more and more LOL. But i can still appreciate and adore it from a far.. Father God pleeeeaseee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good review. I owned a 2011 E63 and currently own a 2013 M5. I tested a 2014 GTS 2 months ago and I would say that both E63 and M5 cannot compare with GTS at all. This Panamera GTS wins over both Bs by miles in term of handling, interior design, overall craftmanship. I ordered one immediately and it will be arriving in early March!
Fun fact: the top model of the panamera (panamera turbo s) is as fast as the ford gt and the "old" lamborghini gallardo on the nuerburgring nordschleife (7 minutes and 52 seconds).
I understand why you'd use studio lightning for showing the car, but I don't think it looks that nice to show all the equipment surrounding the car. It kind of takes some of the magic away, it doesn't add to the composition either. It's like some red triangle suddenly enters the frame from the bottom, but doesn't really do nothing.
BelviGER Having seen these things in real life quite a number of times, I don't agree. It actually does look better in the videos. Feel free to take that however you want.
Maybe not. I've been finding "reuploads" from several channels i'm subscribed to. I don't think it's those channel coincidentally reuploading videos, i think it's RUclips having fun/fucking it up
The purple interior looks like something out of a 1970s love lounge. But selecting it is a great way to prove that you don't care what other people think.
tuononno92 then why a porsche and not a wagon? and the base panamera still has plenty fast going on in there, which people that dont live in germany will hardly get to use.
At the end paddle shifters are not necessary on this car. C'mon - while it is a sporty car, it is not a sportscar, you won't have a track day or do any kind of races with it. So where is exactly your problem?
***** But I find having them attached to the wheel means I DO have to hunt for them when I'm cornering - maybe not on a track but on the real roads going round roundabouts and pulling out of junctions etc you tend to cross your arms over and move your hands to different parts of the wheel. Hardly anyone actually drives with their hands in the perfect position to reach the paddle shifters 100% of the time. If they were mounted on the column and didn't move then you would always know exactly where they were
Hey Mike...great review. Now I only know you from Big Muscle. Great to see you in a modern car. Your review was concise and entertaining. Could you give us some insight to your motoring career? For me used to watching you review awesome hot rods and now seeing yo in a Panamera seems odd. No offense intended..you do a great job.
Automotive journalist for almost 10 years, tracked motorcycles for 6, licensed automotive track instructor for 5, hot-rodder since birth. Most people don't realize that I've driven everything from Yugo's to Veyron's, and have been tracking everything from beat up old Buick's to race prepped GT3 RS's for years. Thanks for asking!
Adam Smith your comment on youtube related to the KAZ documentary, you are a fucking idiot and your IMDB profile you said you had is a load of fucking shit. You sir are a tool and if I met you in person I wouldn't think twice to remind you of that. Not that you would need it. Fucking TWAT. Oh and the MS65 crown is a heap. I have one question for you what have you done to push the limits of both digital and physical automotive racing. Oh nothing! Good day tool.
Boone Weatherby Nice of you to take the time to be so hateful. Not sure why you didn't comment on the video in question, but here's a link to the IMBD page you couldn't find. www.imdb.com/name/nm3798793/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1 Take a breath dude, it's an opinion you're allowed to disagree with without foaming at the mouth.
Damn, only 1 reason, it's gonna eat a lot of gas! But you have to live with it if you want a beautiful, 4 door car, that will get you to your destination faster.
i really like this review but i think the GTS deserves to be driven by chris on a track with a lot of sideways drifting, high revs and pushing this masterpiece to it's limits
I liked the review I would like to hear some comparison to other cars in class... How does it stack up against BMW, Mercedes, and the plethora of grand touring cars from the UK/ Italy. I love the concept that Porsche is sticking their finger right in the eye of the sports sedan market... I just wanted to know how close you think they got to making a place for themselves in the market. Or did they just make a splash with another nitch car that will simply become a unique exercise in engineering like the 928 but won't sell volume.
To be honest, the moment you drive a Panamera you sort of forget that the rear looks a little awkward. It feels like a sports car, just with 4 seats and a big trunk.
maserati have one of the most complex electrical systems in the automotive world. when that extremely short warranty runs out you'll be wishing you got an aston or some sort lol
I've never woken up thinking I'd rather have an aston. They are not that bad for reliability, honestly the newer models are no less reliable than any other marque. They have bad reputation, but since the Ferrari take over things have been great. And since when was performance the primary reason to buy a car? If you want speed for four people, buy a GTR. Maserati not having a racing heritage? It's arguably the most illustrious of any marque ever! The interior, ok it's a tad dated but, much like the styling it's subjective and I for one love it! It has a greater sense of occasion than its rivals, it makes you feel special.
"this is a back to basics Porsche, its front engined" what are you talking about? If you are gonna buy the Panamera, the GTS is the one to get though, awesome car
That's very true, but nothing in Infiniti's line up can come close to the panamera's performance or fit and finish, except for maybe that concept Q car but that's just a concept. It literally does not make any sense how well the panamera handles (4wd or rwd) and when you look at the turbo model the power is even more ridiculous. You gotta pay to play.
A really nice review on a GREAT car! I'm curious to know how Mike Musto feels about the 520 hp Audi S8 which has a base price of $110K (fully equipped close to $130K). Both the Panamera GTS and the Audi S8 are fantastic cars, and they're both manufactured by VW. I suppose the biggest difference between these two cars is not so much their level of performance, but rather their character and personalities. Different strokes for different folks. Mike - Please chime in on this one!!!
"but rather their character and personalities"... you hit the nail on the head. You're more inclined to push harder in the Porsche, whereas in the Audi you just want to cruise. Both are extremely quick, well appointed and wonderfully built machines, but with the Porsche you can go directly to the track, romp on it all day, and then drive home. The Audi simply wasn't designed for that kind of abuse in my opinion.
Yeah but then that $45k Infiniti will never be the fraction of a car the Panamera is. Sure Porsche rapes buyers with their options list, but then their cars are so good no-one cares.
The problem with these reviews I feel is that it does not feel like a genuine review, I have yet to see them review a car in this line up that they don't like and isn't amazing in every single way, even the volt review; there are better more economical car's for the money and that's just fact so by saying it's the best economically viable and affordable car of it's class is just untrue. The only person to throw a negative was Matt Farah saying he would get a Toureg or Q5 over the Cayenne but then quickly explained why he would still buy a Cayenne. To me personally all these video's seem like adverts and don't really portrait the truth on these cars, it's pointless reviewing cars without giving negatives..believe it or not every single car has them.
I didn't say why I'd buy a Cayenne. You should pay attention before trying to be snarky. I explained why someone else might want to buy a Cayenne. You couldn't give me one of those things.
TheSmokingTire I stand corrected on that point about "buying a Cayenne". However I am not being "snarky" just purely constructive criticism, also believe it or not I was complimenting you as you where essentially the first reviewer to throw in a negative which was the whole point of my post, as many of the comments say these type of reviews almost seem ad like as the people reviewing the car seem to throw just positives until perhaps at the very end of the video where maybe 1 - 2 negatives are thrown in, for example Porsche are selling this Panamera/top spec at £95,000+/$156k for nearly 25k less you could buy an RS6 Avant with 150bhp more than the panamera, more space and doesn't look like a 1997 computer mouse. At the end of the day the reviews are good however in my opinion and others they seem a little ad like, far too many positives about car's with a lot of negatives.
Hyperezil 1) You can't buy an RS6 Avant in this country, so you have to forgive American car reviewers for not using it as a comparison. We know people in other parts of the world watch these videos, but cars like that just don't come into our minds because they aren't sold or marketed here. 2) The "negatives" about cars are what you perceive them as, and not necessarily what we think of them. Stuff like price and styling are what you make of it, so there is no point in mentioning an opinion of those things. And we have no idea what the audience will say about this stuff until we do it. So while some people's criticisms are totally valid, these videos are not designed for hardcore, educated enthusiasts; they are for people who have never seen a drive video before and are looking to buy a new car. That's all. Our enthusiast content, which we're still producing, is for the hardcore enthusiast crowd.
i was hopping the porsche guy would review the NON 911's! when you walk in to a porsche dealer the first thing you are asked. is what color 911 do you want and how fast that is it they should only sell AIRCOOLED 911's!
Seeing this car irl, I think it looks fine. Not exceptionally so, but just fine. Certainly better than most saloons that tries to look aggressive. However, for those comments that keeps of harping about on how "ugly" this car is, I just don't get it. I really don't. This is just a hunch, but I think some people take the words of Top Gear way too seriously.
I don't get it. Why people call it "sedan" when it's actually a hatchback? It's like calling 4-door sedan "coupe". Sedan is a sedan, coupe is a coupe, and hatchback is hatchback… Period
I have to disagree with Mike on this one. The interior cabin is WAY too busy in this car. I had the opportunity to test drive one of these and it just feels cluttered. There's buttons everywhere. EVERYWHERE. The center console and stack has buttons for days. To add insult to injury, the model I drove had the steering wheel with the paddle shifters embedded in the steering wheel in the thumb rest area. The steering wheel was also one of the worst I've ever had the displeasure of putting my hands on. With the price tag, and how bad the cabin feels and looks, this car is a huge PASS. Much better offerings in its class from other manufacturers.
I recently bought a 2015 GTS. No matter how bad my day is i know i have that car to drive where ever i like and that makes me happy. Its amazing. This car is truly beautiful.
Ditto
Agree 100% with Mike's review. One hell of a car. Exhaust note is intoxicating. And the GTS looks a lot better in person.
The person in charge of uploads is hitting that bong harder than I am.
is it me; or is every guy at drive is great at reviewing cars; I love this new segment
Lucky me.

When are we gonna see some "Avoid like the plague" cars ?
Good review. I owned a 2011 E63 and currently own a 2013 M5. I tested a 2014 GTS 2 months ago and I would say that both E63 and M5 cannot compare with GTS at all. This Panamera GTS wins over both Bs by miles in term of handling, interior design, overall craftmanship. I ordered one immediately and it will be arriving in early March!
It's 2021 and I want this car...
The GTS is a beast.
The perfect commuting / track car combo.
Never thought the Panamera to be ugly. Seems people in the comments are insecure that a, "sedan," makes their car seem terrible
More like "hatchback"
Paul Optional Siegfried I would say that or it is a 5 door sedan like the Tesla Model S,
LSG Drizzt
its a weird mixture.... like segon.... pretty much the same weirdness as the audi a7
Currently my favourite TEST/DRIVE episode! Keep on ;)
How can you score noise at 4/5. This is the best sounding Porsche ever made after the CGT !
But why the 1 minute outro on a 5 minute clip?
Fun fact: the top model of the panamera (panamera turbo s) is as fast as the ford gt and the "old" lamborghini gallardo on the nuerburgring nordschleife (7 minutes and 52 seconds).
Wow...that interior looked amazing. I want...
Hey /DRIVE I really enjoy these "test" clips, especially with the ratings at the end, very well done!
this is the first great test/drive review! truly good video!
Love these reviews, please keep them coming!
Got to drive one on a driving tour in Germany with Porsche.. loved it, very smooth, and powering out of some corners/up hills felt effortless
Very nice review Mike.
You can't find 1 good reason not to buy this car... I can think of 120,000! But to be fair they're all the same reason just multiplied quite a lot :-(
And the reason iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiis: It´s fugly...
WasstschoBasstscho Not as bad in person as it is on video
BelviGER Having seen these things in real life quite a number of times, I don't agree. It actually does look better in the videos.
Feel free to take that however you want.
Is this a review or an ad?
Anybody get the mad world ad? Actually the song i wanted to listen to so I stayed for the entire ad.
Did you ever review a car that you dont recommend
Practicality: 5? Do the rear seats fold?
Mike,As always an excellent review..!Especially for me ...since I'm a 2011 P/Turbo owner.And yes...It's that good..!
reupload?
Yeah...I definitely watched this yesterday before the upload from ~15 minutes ago.
Maybe not. I've been finding "reuploads" from several channels i'm subscribed to. I don't think it's those channel coincidentally reuploading videos, i think it's RUclips having fun/fucking it up
Thanks for a good review. How does it drive compared to the Turbo? What are the differences?
It looks beautiful and that's my opinion
Musto with a must have. :D
the interior color combination looks so beautiful !!!😍😍😍☝
The purple interior looks like something out of a 1970s love lounge. But selecting it is a great way to prove that you don't care what other people think.
Why buy the GTS over the base Panamera?
Base panamera is utterly pointless. Who wants a slow Porsche?
TheSmokingTire well, if you want a fast porsche, why not stick with a 911?
Masterlostfreaky Because some people have a family?
tuononno92
that's why you buy some shitty SUV for your wife then a fast porsche for yourself... think man.
tuononno92 then why a porsche and not a wagon? and the base panamera still has plenty fast going on in there, which people that dont live in germany will hardly get to use.
Nice review. I was lucky enough to drive one of these and they are indeed very very nice. The fit an finish is superb!
This car is absolutely brilliant. I can attest to all of his claims.
ANd paddle shift's mounted on the wheel??? why??? you dont want them to turn them with the wheel.
Yeah I hated that on my M3. I can't see a single advantage of having them on the wheel
Yes because some racecars driver at Porsche said that you get all fuckedup with yo hands when you drive fast and keep your damn hands on the wheels
At the end paddle shifters are not necessary on this car. C'mon - while it is a sporty car, it is not a sportscar, you won't have a track day or do any kind of races with it. So where is exactly your problem?
You don't want them to turn with the wheel? Explain why race cars have the paddles mounted to the wheels then.
***** But I find having them attached to the wheel means I DO have to hunt for them when I'm cornering - maybe not on a track but on the real roads going round roundabouts and pulling out of junctions etc you tend to cross your arms over and move your hands to different parts of the wheel. Fantastic..thanks for the quick reply and for the background. I look forward to your next review :)
What's with the striped Ford Flex @2:44?
i never would of through this would have been a "must have" car, but considering how well it drives i do understand.
When is Big Muscle coming back?
Love your car reviews
This is the second Porsche I've seen Musto in, in a month!
Did Chris Harris loose a bet or something?!
Great review, even better car!
Adam Smith your comment on youtube related to the KAZ documentary, you are a fucking idiot and your IMDB profile you said you had is a load of fucking shit. Is that a ford edge with race stripes?? 2;45
Repost?
no,no,no i need my $7000.00 burmeister stereo
burmester no "i" ;)
Of course.
Yeaah, If I will get this car in future, I'll definitely buy Burmeister!
David Gressli Bur-mester not meister
I think that Burmeister is in German.. Sorry if I'm wrong :P
This car looks amazing inside and out!
Song name?
Damn, only 1 reason, it's gonna eat a lot of gas! But you have to live with it if you want a beautiful, 4 door car, that will get you to your destination faster.
noise 4/5?:)
Karto86 6/5
hey Mike sorry about earlier you were suppose to get the keys to the muscle car but I mistakenly switched them with the douche at starbucks.
I like the way how they did this kind of review. Not saying the other ones are bad but this one was different :]
Noise should be 5! What's with this bullshit! It sounds awesome. Some of the best noises in the business.
How about some regular cars, like the Civic, Focus, Sonata, FRS/BRZ, Miata, you know, under 30k?
2:44 watch out for that Ford Flex it must be fast if it has racing stripes
wtf is up with the bucket seats in the back...
Best car to buy this price
Dream Car
Oh no, it begins, Ground Hog day!
Woa. I am used to see Mr. Musto behind the wheel of 400+ci old american, but this... Anyways, great job! Keep on gettin better and better
Its good video for sure .. but why putting it on two times ? :D
They edited out some of the mistakes Musto made when reviewing the car. ie) saying that the car is RWD when its AWS
i really like this review but i think the GTS deserves to be driven by chris on a track with a lot of sideways drifting, high revs and pushing this masterpiece to it's limits
MIKE! long time no see buddy...where's Big Muscle!?
Mike simply reviewed it twice because it's that good
Thanks for adding tire smoking burnout machine which is what I want. I am old btw
I liked the review I would like to hear some comparison to other cars in class... How does it stack up against BMW, Mercedes, and the plethora of grand touring cars from the UK/ Italy. Exactly what I needed
I told you Mike Musto can do more than than only Muscle at Drive! Just lose the word literally, k? Keep asking JF to give you more space 8)
Anyone know what song is used in the background track?
I like the music tbh....the car is no doubt a must have but here in Scandinavia it is over 200+k $ (base)....
I would like to see you do a whole episode on your Daytona I think its awesome so can you please do one would love to see it
these graphs are right across the drive network
To be honest, the moment you drive a Panamera you sort of forget that the rear looks a little awkward. It feels like a sports car, just with 4 seats and a big trunk.
You are correct.
its just the looks! i couldnt drive a car knowing its that ugly, so for me i still would rather get a BMW M5 or even a Maserati Quattroporte
ryanmail2004 Why?!?! The maser is infinatly sexier!!!!!
ryanmail2004 And sounds loads better, the previous version is even better! MC Shift, 4.7 S.
Look at the warranty for the maserati and get back to me lol
maserati have one of the most complex electrical systems in the automotive world. when that extremely short warranty runs out you'll be wishing you got an aston or some sort lol

This looks like PV Drive East. I take my Targa and bikes there as well.
Does this car pays attention?? Please answer if you know XD
No but my Focus does.
Great review, thanks.
one of the best cars ever, you have cruiser with 911 performance
Great review
"this is a back to basics Porsche, its front engined" what are you talking about?

Are people still disliking over what they said about Danica Patrick?
Anyone else think Mike sounds a lot like Carlos from MT? It seems like he's enunciating the same as Carlos to me..
too bad you can get adaptive cruise control on a $45k infiniti...and a 150k Porsche needs a $3k option to add it...haha
Yeah but then that $45k Infiniti will never be the fraction of a car the Panamera is. Sure Porsche rapes buyers with their options list, but then their cars are so good no-one cares.

TheSmokingTire Fair enough, your post above clears up any issue's I have/had with these videos.
2 things... 1) YAY MUSTO!!!!!! and 2) turn on CC.... it's funny :P
Same review???? Why?
This is pure auto amazing
i was hopping the porsche guy would review the NON 911's! when you walk in to a porsche dealer the first thing you are asked. is what color 911 do you want and how fast that is it they should only sell AIRCOOLED 911's!

It Looks Like There's a Bug in The Matrix !
This car is great in many ways but, unfortunately, it is also FUGLY imo. Great review from Mike.
