The Song divided into parts: Part 1: A beautiful, orchestral masterpiece. Tears to the eyes, a triumphant number in the midst of loneliness. Part 2: Suspense rises. Tempo slows down. Part 3: *WELCOME TO ARCO AM PM MINI MARKET*

I wish every person on earth could experience listening to this song at least once in their lives, truly the greatest piece of music ive heard in my young life.
I just remembered what my first breath felt like. Amazing. The emotions that this track brings you through, it can’t be compared to anything else. It’s humbling, joyful, devastating, worrying, and almost alien. How could I go this long without a single song even touching what this song made me feel? The tempos beat to your chest, the strings move with your bloood, the drums fire with your synapses. Godspeed you! You humble, amazing band!
GY!BE, on a handful of their releases (this one included), reached out to grab the ineffable, the indescribable, a piece of heaven on Earth for us to enjoy, with no ego, no hubris, and they achieved it gloriously. This piece (and this album) will force you to cry, force you to deal with it; for them to have created this, they need to have reached the depths of suffering and the heights of ecstasy to synthesize it all into one glorious celebration of life. This is the power of music. I wept like a baby listening to this two nights ago on the comedown of 3 tabs of LSD - a true cleansing of the soul.
The piano at the end is just so stunning, total bliss, so much emotion packed into a few amazing chords. I don't know how they do it, but GP!BE elicit such a strong emotional response. Dead Flag Blues simply devastates as well.
My first experience with GY!BE was listening to this after a whole day working on a school project. It was so strenuous and on no sleep, when the drums hit in the first movement of the song I started hallucinating colours
I really like this!! Why on Earth must everyone harshly criticize? If you like it, enjoy, if you don't, search for something else!! It's in tune, it's moving, emotive, etc. and it's someone's artistic expression- at least for one fleeting moment of their life!! Give all music a chance!
Whenever I’m feeling really down, I listen to the first 6 mins of this, thinking about everything that I’ve been through, where I am now, despite it all, and the things I hope to achieve in the future. Always picks me right up 🙂
the ending movement of storm has such a desperate, bleak sound. It feels like a montage of footage of a terrible terrible tragedy, hearing the panicked voices on the radio, knowing theres nothing that can be done to save them from whatever is happening, that sound is so distinctive and thankfully theres a whole album full of it with Silver Mt Zions debut.
I can't believe how beautiful this is. Especially the ending, my favorite part. How, a rock song with a lot of percussion and guitars ends with nothing but a mesmerizing piano and a sound of a protester lecturing people through a megaphone so distorted no one understand the language. My theory is that he is talking about corporate buildings being builded on a, holy land. And he is unhappy about how they put their towers, killing flowers and trees there to put them.
i remember being high and having a not great night by myself when i clicked on this song for the first time and it was genuinely the greatest listening experience ive ever had
7:00 to 8:52 literally feels like nostalgia in a song to me. I constantly feel nostalgic and miss my home country where I feel I was actually genuinely happy because I was so young. I wish I could go back to those days with no worries and run up the mountains with my friends again and look forward to going to school. This song at least gives me some sort of that feeling, I am forever grateful I had an amazing childhood. Hopefully growing up won't be that bad.
Honestly, I've got to agree with that. ESPECIALLY if we're talking about the first 7 minutes. I mean, make no mistake, the whole song feels absolutely massive in every sense of the word. But there's just something about this section specifically that really manages to tug at my heartstrings no matter how many times I listen to it. The progression, the drums, the simple yet powerful guitar melody. One of the few pieces of music that genuinely made me tear up a bit when I was listening to it for the first time.
Ive been sitting here drawing for about 3 hours, and I listen to all types of music. This being the case I started off with Rock, then it switched automatically to a slower genre. When it did i didn't notice until now but my drawing started to get better. then this came on and its like my drawing took a huge leap from decent to great. anyway enough of my rambling ,this is an amazing song!!
This warm melancholic but hopeful comforting feeling feels like looking back on life and finally accepting the last fate i’ll ever have. The end and start of a great journey and oh how fun it has been.
Every section of this song is done masterfully my own favorite section starts at 17:45 where the heavy distortion guitar part fades into the AM/PM sample and it feels like a drug experience. Its a great example when music can paint a vivid image in my imagination with very few words. I can almost taste the moist air in the parking lot at night. The piano piece is simple yet very impactful, each stroke is very well placed. The distorted background voice of man speaking in a megaphone (at least that is how it feels to me) sounds/feels like a religious speech or a from a mosque in an Islamic country. This song is a journey, but most of their songs are. but those last 5 minutes stand out to me personally. I love these guys.
This is the song I listened to with my best friend I listened to with my best friend when it was unexpectedly the last night we have ever and will ever be able to hang out. It makes me cry everytime and I relate to on another level. Please feel this. I for sure do.
Listen to the repeating patterns, beautiful violins and tell me (if you are lucky enough to have heard them) that it doesn't remind you of Beethoven on the repeating tune and the Star Trek: First Contact music on the beautiful violins.
I never thought that music could be as good as this. My friend gave me this album and upon listening to it I realized what beauty is. Thanks for the upload.
i feel so grateful that this band exists. I saw them twice at different events in Montreal. This song in particular is probably the one that i connect the most with ( BBF3 is close second ) I can't quite explain why, but there is a message in this song, even if there are no lyrics, that instantly remind me of Montreal and it's people, Montreal as a collective conscience. That sound was familiar from the start because they portrayed such a detailed picture of the scene that you truly feel at home even at the first listen. I'm totally in love with Montreal, my city, they're doing an amazing job to represent the local culture. I give all of my love to anyone that might ever need it. God knows, if you're listening to this, you might be going through a rough time, And if this resonates with you, i want you to know that this music helped me and i hope it helps you too. God damn, i feel alive.

Those were simpler times. Now everything's fucked. Haven't heard any new Gybe in years. Think I'm gonna go down that rabbit hole again.
I remember being on a long flight and i put this song on. I had heard it once before, but i didn't remember much, all i knew is that i liked it. nothing will beat the feeling getting surprised by 10:11 and then looking out of the window of the plane.

We talked and realised she moved to India recently to the same town. She even has a CD of lift your skinny fists and allelujah, don't bend, ascend. We met 2 days after sharing Instagram a week ago. Life is so random.
uh, i'm guessing they recorded the man for a reason. "it's been a long long time, a long long time coming" is pretty cryptic, and in that, it is heavy and therefor can be interpreted in any way by the listener. this is why i love GY!BE so much - because they leave everything up to my (our) own interpretation. we fill in the blanks and we give the songs their own meanings.
No miré atrás. Solo me dejé llevar.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who was crying in the middle of the song when all of a sudden I hear "Welcome to ARCO AM-PM Mini-Market"

Los Senderos del Devenir
Apreté los dientes y seguí adelante.
No miré atrás.
Solo me dejé llevar.
Me deslicé, lentamente,

RIP Mark Hollis.
Talk Talk is so incredible and one of the most influential bands of all time. Among the godfathers of post rock
I'd been looking for high quality GYBE vids for sometime on youtube. Thank you so much :)
@sonikkuffffff Definitely, quality should never be ignored when it comes to delicate, intricate instrumental music like this. I couldn't stand listening to all the other low quality Godspeed vids. Come to think of it, I couldn't even really get into GY!BE until I listened to your high quality videos. And now, I love this music.
Just ordered this Album
partially because of this video and partially because of TheNeedleDrop
