BKC, in my humble and honest opinion, you put out some of the most amazing and in depth competitive Pokemon content ive ever seen. The amount of metagames you touch on and all the information you share is something crazy cool especially for someone like me who wants to learn more about older metas. You are a master at your craft dog. A Pokemon master. Keep up the awesome work man!

Is there a chance you could make a video where you go more in-depth on what exactly Arceus changed to the meta and why you hated it? I would be interested on hearing more on that topic
How good was Arceus exactly does a decent job for what info FSG covers (meaning they just say what the forms were good at without much more then general terms for ramifications on the metagame as a whole)
Quagsire consistently being a check to the most dangerous Pokémon in the metagame is an underdog story for the ages

I must be new to this channel, because I just discovered today that DPP!Arceus joined to the very exclusive group of Pokémon that have been banned of ALL of the (Singles) Competitive Ladders of their respective Gen: Anything Goes.
A Tier that was originally created to contain Mega Rayquaza's complete absurd design, now it also holds Zacian and DPP!Arceus.

Gen 4 Anything goes is awesome. Get that hypno with belly drum, than baton pass to deoxys attack. You can see where this is going.
The most hilarious addition to Gen IV Ubers is Ariados. A surprisingly competent lead that can beat Deoxys Speed leads and Darkrai leads. And lay down Toxic Spikes, which I find hilarious.

This is my new favorite channel. I love extra-long, in-depth videos about Pokemon metagames and changes and this is just right up my alley.

i've only played gen 7 ubers and I'm quite surprised that dialga was s tier in gen 4. Palkia isnt that bad in gen 7 but dialga never seems to do much other than set rocks and draco before dying. Maybe it will be good again in gen 8 with the primals (hopefully) out of the picture though I doubt it with it being a steel that can't check xerneas
It’s a bit of the steel typing that makes it a defensive powerhouse in gen 4, but newer generations balanced types in such a way that dialga doesn’t see outstanding traits that it used to.
The meta just shifted as the gens went on. Having a dragon that wasn't weak to dragons was super cool before fairies. In gen 7 Dialga is mainly just a steel type that can't check Xerneas, and it's also not great against Primal Groudon without Shuca.

Dialga isn't bad at all, it just doesnt fit into the current metagame. Same as Palkia in Gen 8 Ubers. Also, I love using Choice Specs Dialga, it can catch players off guard and destroy their mons as they use Taunt.
I wish community subtitles were still around so i could make some and send these AWESOME videos to my friends, fr these are amazing but i can't share them with anyone
i like it because its where dialga peaked and that mon is probably my favorite legendary next to mewtwo, it just kept descending lower and lower until it was out of the game in gen 8 (and unusable in nat dex)
edit: good that its back now but its still limited in viability, due to being outclassed by dusk mane

Wow I remember absolutely loving Diamond/Pearl Ubers, that was the first ladder I got a good rank on way back in the day. Even before platinum and I hated Arceus as well, hardly played after that.

@@megamind2379 I’m an extremely avid GSC NU player, and I think Gastly is really bad since it fails to provide any defensive utility besides blanking Explosion. it’s extremely frail and inconsistent

Lugia is a lot lower on this tier list than I expected, I always heard the tales from FalseSwipeGaming and Serebii about how legendarily tanky it can be.
gen 4 seems like a low point for Lugia cus of stealth rock, and multiscale isn't available till gen 5
This metagame seems fun. One thing I like about it is that I love all the designs of the Pokemon in DPP Ubers.

Hey how does the legality of pokemon in competitive play works on pokemon obtained via glitches like the void glitch and the pal park repel glitch?
With the ladder you can, without cheating methods find and catch a lv80 arceus from the hall of original which can be fully EV trained.
Sometimes i gather with friends from collage on my house and do this improvised dpp tournaments for cash with our own tier which is basically OU but you can have one uber pokemon and fights have broke out over the legallity of using arceus even in our made up format which i find it hilarious.
glitches like that are considered too far. you can glitch a "legal" sleep powder + spikes roserade, but we don't allow that either.

Well, this is just my opinion, but i think that example is a little different from arceus because the roserade is doing something unintended by the developers while the hall of origin event didnt happen not because full ev trained arceus would be too broken (which it is) but because they thought the event was too complicated (which i dont think it was)

I'd argue it was better in gen 6.
Yes, it has to contend with the Tao trio, but hazards were so easy to remove that some people just wouldn't even run them, it could play around the primals fabulously, and if it came in on a Xerneas Geomancy, Xern usually had to switch out in shame, and essentially be a liability.
Shedinja also thus enabled a lot of unusual meta picks that you normally can't run because it lets Xern in.

In the same vein of Ariados being "viable", isn't Parasect usable as well because dry skin and its grass typing let it come in on king kyogre and fire off Spore? And if the Kyogre is a sleep talk set you can just wear it down with Giga Drain. I'd like to hear your input.
yeah, if ariados is being mentioned, may as well mention parasect. tspikes are a lot more generally effective than spore though. also giga drain sucks in dpp and parasect has 0 spatk, you'd use seed bomb.
I don't know nothin' about nothin', but I'd guess that even though it's Kyogre's distant third move slot behind its choice of water move, then Thunder, Kyogre probably runs Ice Beam enough that if you need to out Kyogre so badly that you are dipping into low tiers to hard wall it, you're better off not taking the risk of losing your counter to a fairly reasonable move choice.

only in dpp, I think it's fine in bw and later. it can be a little crazy but nothing outrageous compared to the other pokes in the tier

Came back to this after playing a shitload of dpp ubers since it's an OM of the month. I've played some in the past but have been absolutely loving it lately. My biggest surprise was just how good lucario is. IMO it's even better than in OU. After trying it out just for shits I ended up realizing how bonkers it is late game. It doesnt even matter that it's set is 100% predictable, the 3 standard attacks are literally all it requires and I find it cleans up more games than not. regardless of whether or not it wins the game, I've never found it to be dead weight. just something really cool I noticed as I'm not a really big fan of using it in OU. I honestly feel like its speed tier is the biggest hindrance, but with all the ubers being around that speed and rarely running max +spe unless choiced it doesnt matter. Maybe I'm just used to shit like gen 8 ubers where you need a freakin Scarf on dugtrio and over a quarter health of chip just to revenge a zacian, but it's a really nice change of pace. Thanks for the video!

One thing I wish you mentioned with Ludicolo was the less seen Swift Swim set as it isn't only a great counter to Kyogre, but also a great pokemon to deal a chunk to Groudon on the switch with Grass Knot. Rain Dish is definitely more common, being able to trivialize Kyogre with a 4x resist (even if in rain), Leech Seed, Protect, and Substitute to continuously chip away at Kyogre and weaken it's Water Spout, but you can't deny how valuable Swift Swim can be.

Many People speculate Giratina is a representation of Lucifer (Distortion world = Hell), whilst I would speculate Palkia and Dialga could be considered archangels.
