Hi Scott and Alana. Lots of useful information there, keep it up! Love my FL2. Taking it to Scotland next week, and Dorset the week after, so should rack up a few miles. TTFN.

      Hi Ian 👋.
Thanks a lot for leaving that comment. 😁👍 If you're heading to those places for leisure, then have a great time. It certainly will put a few miles on the Freelander and blow out any cobwebs if there are any. 😁
Alana and I want to head up to Scotland one day as it's a stunning country. 😀

Very true for all desiels. They all need a good hard long run now and then to keep the engine / intake / exhaust clean. 👍

4:44 interesting you say this, because I replaced my rear discs and pads at about 285500 km and was surprised that it had worn faster than the front set. Also renewed my flexible brake hoses (it’s called for replacement every 6yrs I believe) and found a LR technician installed it such that it had rubbed through the rubber encasing against the bracket for the hose grommet and I could see the metal braiding. It could’ve been a catastrophe if it had cut through and leaked.
    Good thing I saw it.
Anyway, I recently learned that geese are not adult ducks (true story).

Hahahaha, that geese and adult ducks comment had me laughing. 😅 I cannot imagine what would've happened if you didn't spot that brake hose issue at the point you did 😨.

@@ScottandAlana4x4 yeah a few more months of rubbing and we’d be involved in a nasty accident.
Why I cringe at someone else working on my car who isn’t utterly meticulous and has high attention to detail. Skilled technician and not a parts remover/fitter.

      Hi Rosie 👋.
Freelander 2's and their batteries are a massive Russian roulette. It's funny how some will need a new battery every 2 years without fail. Then there's cars like yours that might live their life out on 1 single battery. 😄
We have owned our car for 2 and a half years, and the battery is still fine. We have no idea how old the battery actually is. 😀
Out of interest, what model is your Freelander 2? I'm just wondering if the base level GS is much kinder on its battery because it doesn't have start/stop and some of the extra luxuries, let's say, compared to a 2014 HSE or Metropolis that's loaded with extras and maybe harder on it's battery. 😀

Brakes are my OCD issue on my FL2. I have got into the habit of feeling the temperature of the wheels after every trip which tells me how they’re feeling having had the rear callipers drag a while back😁 I also methodically clean the callipers and hand brake cable and drums every few months and change the brake fluid annually. Seems to pay dividends 🫡

      Hi Las CM 👋.
That's a pretty good kind of OCD to have when it comes to the Freelander 2. 😁 To me, there is nothing more satisfying than to watch people work on various bits of car and everything comes undone exactly how it's suppose to and without the need for any high impact devices or extreme heat. 👌😀
