      They asked about the junk fees and we got a commercial as to why everyone should fly United. Also had a plug by one saying he’s a silver member.

    • @RichardRichard-g5r
      @RichardRichard-g5r 7 дней назад

      @@1rtrickyno, he did not … he explained that there are options and choices … so you have a variety of ticket options (no bag fees , etc)…and then more full service options … he also explained very well how much money UA have invested into the product. This benefits the customer from A-Z along the entire customer journey : new planes , a first rate app, great entertainment on board , etc ….. and so the way he explained it is very customer oriented. How do you suppose by the way airlines should fund all the investments of billions? You want to have your cake and eat it, too. People don’t understand the high costs and volatility the airlines face. No one ever talks about their incredible economic impact! We should want our airlines to make lots of money because that benefits us!

      I’m also a United million miler and fly them regularly coast to coast and international- I think Scott Kirby has done a atrocious job as CEO and has continued to put the airline in the wrong direction. It’s inflight product is a pathetic joke. Flight attendants are for the most part of low morale. It’s ‘woke’ DEI policies have taken a toll on moral that passengers observe. Why are we still interviewing airline CEOs? They are so out of touch with any customer that uses them. Heck, most of them don't even fly their own airlines when they travel. This guy answered absolutely zero of the questions asked and instead talked point by point pure promotional nonsense. And the hand motions were the worst. Whoever his PR person is should be fired for not controlling that.

    • @RichardRichard-g5r
      @RichardRichard-g5r 7 дней назад

      And that money goes right back into the products and reliability you are able to enjoy! That’s the whole point! How do you think billion dollar investments get paid for ? Do you want it for free? Airlines are under tremendous cost pressures and generally it is a low margin business. If you buy hundreds of new airplanes, you pass the costs on to the customer because they are the ones that will benefit and use it …. Everyone knocks on the airlines but most people haven’t got a clue commenting on it because they simply have zero idea of how that business works

    ***** I just watched the 2 hour clip of all the CEO's on capital hill today. what a joke. I swear all of these executives got together at someone's beach house And ask "how can we make the flying experience a total disaster for customers? " And someone responded "we could shorten the leg room, shortened width of the seat, charged for carry-on bags and check bags , And oversale every flight..."

    With what the Delta CEO said, makes me and a lot of people faint that he did not like the fact that people can receive the refunds that Biden put out in his administration. That’s crazy to me because it only helps the people who paid for their ticket. It seem like Delta prices are going to go up in a Trump administration 😂

    Unbelievable our air traffic system is still decades old. The Gov't acted too slow on upgrading, ask Elon's team to work on this, of course it will be very difficult to upgrade. God forbid a few people die in the transition (heart attacks). Also, I just wish we had one national carrier that is luxurious instead of needing to fly private to get luxury. Nothing like luxury on a Dreamliner and A380.

    • @iahflyr4690
      @iahflyr4690 9 дней назад

      As a retired controller I will tell you the system is not "decades old". There is new equipment that is excellent, software much more reliable and faster, controller displays far better than 15-20 years ago that give much better information on weather, ADS-B providing one second updates rather than 4.7 second updates in TRACON's which doesn't sound like much but it certainly makes a huge difference. But, yes the workforce is short of controllers and that is what needs to be fixed and COVID did not help as all training of controllers whether new or folks who had just transferred to a new facility, it all stopped. Controllers don't just get to sit down at the RADAR display and start working without direct supervision from an instructor and the checkout process is very lengthy especially at larger facilities.

      I fly United very often, I think Kirby has done a great job as ceo. United at one point had the wheels coming off the track. I give Oscar Munoz alot of credit. He put the airline back on the tracks, Scott Kirby took over and put the metal to the pedal on growing the airline. Is every little thing perfect all the time (no), But the change for the better has been amazing. 110,000 employs around the world over 1,000 airplans carrying 130 million people a year. Running a global airline is something like herding cats.
      In my opinion, Scott Kirby will go down as one of Uniteds best CEO's ever.
